Donna M. Pippin, the daughter of Laborn Pippin and Elizabeth (Barnett) Pippin, was death by her parents and a sister.
Survivors include, one brother, Russell and wife, Ethel Pippin, of Mound City, Kan.; nieces Phyllis and Wanda and their children Kimberly and Brian, Wanda Sue, Brenda, and Chris.
Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 26, at the Thornfield born on April 20, 1944, in Ava, and born. She enjoyed camping and canoeing and loved her pets and being with her family.
She was preceded in born Aug. 2, 1921, in Smallett, Mo., the youngest of eight children, to Jeff and Martha Prine.
On Feb. 14, 1942, he death by his parents, five brothers, two sisters and a grandson, Terry J. Jackson.
Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 18, at 10 a.m., at Shaw and Sons Funeral Home, with concluding services at West Hills Memorial Park.
Mary Joann Woodard, 48

Mary Joann Woodard, the daughter of the late Eugene and Letha Metcalf Elliott, was passed away at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, April 23, 2005, at the age of 48 years.
She had been a resident of the Springfield area for many years and moved to Dexter in 1995. She was employed at Tyson Foods in Dexter and was a member of the Lighthouse Christian Center in Dexter.
On Feb. 2, 2001, she was Interment will be at a later date in the Evansdale Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
Stanley Scislowicz, 86

Stanley Scislowicz was married Josephine Kwiczen.
Stanley spent most of his working life in the Chicago area where he was a welder and maintenance man for the railroad, several years before he retired he bought prop-erty in the Ava area planning for retirement. In 1976, he fulfilled that dream with other members of his family following.
Stanley is survived by two sons and one daughter, Leonard and his wife, Wendy Scislowicz, of Ava, Marian Scislowicz, of Krakow, Poland, and Theresa Razo, of Chi-cago, Ill.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Stanley was preceded by his wife, Josephine; an infant daughter, and his mother.
Stanley was an honest man who liked gardening, growing fruit, walking in the country, a nice Polka and playing with his grand-children.
Memorial service will be Thurs-day (today), May 19, at 1 p.m., at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Ava. Cremation services were conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
Loa Davis, 87

Loa Davis, 87, Ava, born Nov. 16, 1917, in Stillwater, Okla., the daughter of George Albert and Cora (Davis) Hamilton.
On June 6, 1936, she was united in marriage to Cecil O. Davis in Ava. This union was blessed with two sons.
Loa was a lifelong resident of the Ava area where she enjoyed her family, gardening, crafts and especially enjoyed doll collecting. She was a loving and wonderful mother, grandmother, and a devoted and caring wife. Loa was a genuine first-class lady with a nurturing personality and loving spirit. She embraced the Southern Baptist faith and was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Ava for over 60 years. She depended on her faith for her spiritual and social life, always demonstrating her love for Christ with compassion and encouragement.
She was preceded in Cemetery.
Ila Belle Bowles, 84

Ila Belle (Davis) Bowles, 84, a resident of Evansville Manor, Evansville, Wisc., born on Jan. 27, 1921, at Girdner, Mo., near Ava, to George Felda and Stella (Parnell) Davis. She was death on July 9, 1998.
Before moving to Salinas, Calif., in 1985, Ila Belle served many years as secretary to the Ava superintendent of schools and her husband, Robert, served as managing editor of the Douglas County Herald. The Bowles retired in 1981 and moved back to Springfield, Mo.
In 1998, they moved to Janesville, Wisc., to be nearer their son and his wife during Robert’s brief illness. In spite of Ila’s many years of illness, her mind remained clear and her inner strength was an inspiration to all those who knew her.
She was survived by a son, Jerry, and his wife, Gay (Grenlund) Bowles, of Janesville, Wisc.; several nieces and nephews, including Joanne (Stewart) Green, of Lebanon, Mo., and Chester Upshaw, of Mtn. Home, Ark.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in Cemetery under the direction of the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava, with the Rev. Harvel Sanders, a lifetime friend, officiating. The Schneider Apfel Schneider & Schneider Funeral Home of Janesville, Wisc., handled local arrangements in Wisconsin.
