Roselea Ruth “Rosie” Bruner, 58, homemaker, entered into eternal rest on July 13, 2005.
Rosie was married to Bobby Dale Bruner. To this union three children were passed away July 16, 2005, at the V. A. Hospital in Albuquerque, N.M.
He was born.
John was a Navy career man who enlisted in the Navy at the age of 17 1/2 on Sept. 7, 1956. He was a proud member of the Seventh Fleet for many years. His first cruise aboard the U.S.S. McDermut DD-677 was early in 1957 to the West Pacific. On the 1957 cruise they crossed the equator on their way to Singapore. During the day long ceremony they became "Trusted Shellbacks." They also visited the ports of British Malaya, Subic Bay, and Hong Kong. His second tour of duty was aboard the U.S.S. Carpenter DDE-825 from Nov. 1957 to Oct. 1958. She sailed outward bound by way of Samoa; Sydney, Australia; Manus; and Guam, thus varying the usual passage via Midway to Japan. His third tour was aboard the U.S.S. Nicholas DDE-449 from Dec. 1958 to Oct. 1959 to the Western Pacific ports of Manila, Singapore, Okinawa, Hong Kong, Yokosuka, Sasebo, Kobe and Nagoya - the last four all being in Japan. From June 1962 to March 1964, John received some well deserved shore duty and was stationed at the Supply Department, Stock Control Section, of the U.S. Naval Air Station at Glenview, Illinois. John served two tours in Vietnam before he was stationed at Kirtland Air Force Base, Albuquerque, N.M. from late 1973 to late 1980 where he served as a Navy Recruiter. Then he boarded the U.S.S. Tarawa LHA-1 from Nov. 1980 to April 1981 enroute to Subic Bay, Thailand, Korea, Singapore, Indian Ocean, Diego Garcia, Perth, and San Diego. John was promoted to Senior Chief in May of 1983 and retired from the Navy in March 1984.
John was preceded in passed away at age 20 in 1982 aboard the U.S.S. Durham L.K.A. 114 of the Pacific fleet.
John is survived by two daughters, Anne Marie Blue and husband, Kenneth, of Chesapeake, Va., and Clara Celeste Bullock and husband, Gordon, of High Springs, Fla.; three sons, Travis Martin, of Minneapolis, Minn., Eric Nolan and wife, Stacey, and Kirk Wilson and wife, Danice, both of Virginia Beach, Va.; his mother, Frances Rosalie (Newton) Follis, who resides in Forsyth Health Care Center, Forsyth; three brothers, Fred and wife, Joan, of Ava, Allen Thomas and wife, Donna, of Oak Grove, and William Edward and wife, Vivian, of Forsyth; one sister, Carolyn Rosalie Berry and husband, James M. Berry, of Forsyth, Carolyn Ray, of Woodsboro, Texas; wife Chieko, of Albuquerque, N.M.; and 12 grandchildren.
Georganna L. Lucero, 38

Georganna L. Lucero, the daughter of George Lucero and Sharon (Watson) Lucero, was death by her mother, Sharon Lucero, in 1997.
She is survived by three children, Tawnie Lucero, Springfield, Josh Christensen and Veronica Christensen, both of West Plains; two stepsons, Boo Christensen, Denver, Colo., Colby Christensen, Lincoln, Neb.; one grandson, Conner Rogers, Springfield; her father, George Lucero, Denver, Colo.; two brothers, Shane and Bobby Lucero, both of Denver, Colo.
Services will be Saturday, Sept. 10, at 2 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with Pastor Richard Rhoades officiating. Cemetery.
Lloyd A. McCleskey, 77

Lloyd A McCleskey, 77, a longtime resident of Alamogordo, N.M., born Sept. 25, 1927, in Seminole, Okla. He retired in 1982 from civil service at Seal Beach, Calif., where he had been an equipment mechanic. His career with civil service totaled over 30 years. Lloyd was a very caring and kind individual. He was respected and loved by everyone who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley, (daughter of the late Grant and Della Ward, of Ava) of the family home; a son, Aubrey Dean McCleskey, of Anaheim, Calif.; a daughter, Caren Vigil and her husband, Vince, of Orange, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Deb Sanderson and her husband, Jim, of Tularosa, N.M., and Tammy Walker and her husband Steve, of Rochelle, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Aug. 16, at 2 p.m., in the Hamilton-O'Dell Chapel with Pastor Ron Johnson officiating.

Fidel Zamora, 72

Fidel Zamora, 72, Ava, born Feb. 28, 1933, in San Juan, Texas, the son of Francisco and Juanita Vazques (Miranda) Zamora. On Aug. 28, 1976, he was united in marriage to Carmen M. Navarrete in Mexico.
Fidel spent most of his life living in Chicago, Ill., before moving to Ava in 1990. In 1996, he became a business owner and operator of Lili's Steak House.
Fidel enjoyed the restaurant business where his gentle spirit, warm continuous smile and friendly handshake welcomed many friends. He also was a school bus driver for the Ava school system for over seven years, often rewarding the students with candy and special treats. He worked long hours but found time to hunt and fish for relaxation. His life overflowed with care and determination for his family by always supporting them with guidance in every worthy endeavor. In spite of his many accomplishments, Fidel praised his family and grandchildren above all else. Fidel was also a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church of Ava.
Fidel was preceded in born on Dec. 28, 1937, in Dora, Mo., and death by his parents, three sisters, Beulah Thompson, Arlene Thompson and Lorene Grisham, and two brothers, Roy and Arlis Thompson.
He is survived by his wife, Lois, of the home in Drury; nine children and their spouses, Fredrick Thompson and Jimmy Lee Thompson, both of Kansas, Larry and LeaAnn Thompson, Everton, Ronnie Thompson, Dora, Debbie Stamper, Fort Leonard Wood, Mary and Richard Turnbull, Mtn. Grove, Gary Thompson, Vanzant, Cindy Boehm, Salem, Ark., and Danny Thompson, Atlanta, Ga.; two stepchildren, Joyce and David Kern, Pekin, Ill., and Steve Massey, Fordland; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, with the Rev. Scott Miller officiating. Cemetery near Drury.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
Albert L. Holman, 55

Albert L. Holman, 55, of Nevada, Mo., born Aug. 31, 1950, in Ava, the son of the late Florence Holman. He had been disabled all his life.
Albert is survived by several cousins including Doris Holman, and Jackie and Jearildene Holman, all of Ava, and Judy Stoll and Connie Duncan, both of Kansas.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary of Joplin. No services are planned at this time. Inurnment of ashes will be at a later date in Turkey Creek born. Opal enjoyed quilting, sewing and taking care of family. Opal was preceded in Interment was in the Evans Cemetery.
