Eddie Dean Bray, 57

Edward “Eddie” Dean Bray, the son of Mathias Edward Bray and Lois Madeena (Hawkins) Bray, was went to be with the Lord on May 2, 2006, at the age of 57 years and 18 days.
Eddie was a lifelong resident of the Ava area. He was a farmer and minister, and pastor of Mt. Ararat Missionary Baptist Church.
On March 16, 1973, Eddie and Kathy Darlene Hall were united in marriage in Ozark. Eddie and Kathy were blessed with four children.
Eddie loved and was involved in missions and bringing people to the Lord. His family and church family were very important to him. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and the outdoors.
Eddie was preceded in Interment will be in the Mills born Feb. 18, 1915, in Ava. She departed this life Tuesday, May 9, 2006, in Hartville Care Center, Hartville, at the age of 91 years, two months and 21 days.
On Feb. 20, 1933, she was united in marriage to Laurence Youngblood, in Wright County.
She was preceded in Cemetery with Rick Johnson officiating. Services and burial were under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Mansfield.
Gordon Junior Roberts, 61

Gordon Junior Roberts, 61, of Bruner, born Feb. 9, 1943, in Bradleyville, the son of Lewis Gordon and Bernice (Wallace) Roberts.
On Oct. 20, 1962, he and Anita Jo St. John were united in marriage.
Gordon owned and operated Gordon’s Furniture Gallery in Nixa along with his son, Darin. He enjoyed country music and sang at area community events and was a guest of the Oldfield Opry and Thursday Nite Music, in Ava.
He enjoyed gatherings which included his whole family. He took pride in his garden and yard work, and always looked forward to traveling with his wife.
Survivors include his wife, Anita Jo; three children and their spouses, Lisa and Steve Quesssenberry, Ozark, Myka and Brett Adams, Ozark, and Darin and Misha Roberts, Springfield; grandchildren, Kristen and Rick Gerard, Keli Jo Terrell and Jeremy Steele, Aly Fields, Auston Adams, and Sophie Roberts; a great-grandchild, Shelbi Jo Steele; brothers and sisters, Berdina and Bob Harris, Juanita Wisecarver, Don and Lola Roberts, Betty Koehler, Darrell Roberts, and Pauline Carson; his father-in-law, Walter St. John; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Jerry Millsap; nieces and nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in Interment was in Sparta born May 1, 1911, in Aurora, Ill.
Helen departed this life on June l, 2006, in St. John's Hospital in Springfield, at the age of 95.
Helen was a resident of the Ava area since 1972, moving here from Aurora, Ill. Helen was employed as a store manager of a children's store before retirement.
On Oct. 26, 1929, Helen and Edward Stadler were united in marriage in Aurora, Ill., at the United Presbyterian Church. To this marriage one son, Edward (Boots) Stadler Jr., was death by her husband, Edward, in 1975. Also preceding her in Cemetery, Aurora, Ill., preceded by a visitation at 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at The Healy Chapel, Aurora, Ill., with Rev. Ron Wallace officiating.
A local visitation was held Saturday, June 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, with the Revs. Ron Wallace and Oren Alcorn officiating.
Services are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, and The Healy Chapel, Aurora, Ill. Memorials may be made to Ava General Baptist Church or Ava United Methodist Church.

Graveside services for Virgil Hall were held Monday, June 7, 10 a.m. in the Hillcrest Cemetery under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt-Bradely Funeral Home, Mountain Grove.
Jesse Waylon Workman, 28

Jesse Waylon Workman, son of Dennis Eugene "Bill" Workman and Tammy Johns, was passed away on Jan. 9, 2008, in Douglas County, at the age of 28 years.
Jesse was a resident of Seymour, moving from Ava where he lived with his family on the farm. He loved hunting, fishing, riding horses, camping, drawing and being with his friends and his children.
He was preceded in death by his father, "Bill", grandfather, Gene Workman, and maternal grandparents, Sue and Marvin Johns.
He is survived by Sarah Elaine Walker, Seymour; his children, Katrina and Stevie Workman, both of Seymour, and Rebecca Crowder, and their children Aryanna Workman and an unborn child, Abby Boone, and Austin Sturdivant, all of Springfield; his mother, Tammy Johns, Ozark; one brother, Cody Workman, Ava; a half brother and sister, Dustin Hicks, Ozark, and Twanda Smith, Nixa; paternal grandmother, Ruth Workman, Ava; aunts, uncles and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial service for Jesse was held Tuesday, Jan. 15, at 10 a.m. at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with Dan Guilbeault officiating.
The family requests memorials to the family as a love offering at the funeral home.
