Thomas Etsel Marsh, 95

Thomas Etsel Marsh, son of Samuel Peter Marsh and Nola Melton Marsh, was born. After their marriage, Thomas and his wife moved to Arizona, and returned to Missouri in 1943. They then moved to California in 1944 to work for the U.S. Army.
Thomas was a member of the Longrun General Baptist Church. He loved to garden and was known in the area for his tomatoes. He was a loving devoted husband and father.
He was preceded in Cemetery with Rev. Tom Johnson officiating.
Memorials can be made to the Welch and Marsh Families died Friday, May 12, 2006 at the age of 90 Years 10 months and 4 days. She was Cemetery is today.
In 1935 Ada graduated from Ava High School and born: Lora Smith, Lees Summit, Geraldine Gray, Ava, and Carl Huff and wife June, Lees Summit. She and Maynard owned and operated a dairy farm for many years, and after retirement moved back to the farm where she grew up. Since 1998 she has lived with grandchildren Danny, Melanie, Heath and Samantha Gray a short distance from where she was death by her parents, PDA and Julina Ritter Davis, brothers Arvel and Fred Davis, and sister Mabel Johnson; and her husband, Maynard and grandson, Darren Huff.
Ada Mae, or "Granny" as she was affectionately called by many, was known for her homemade rolls and other baked goods, and her crocheted afghans, hangers and washcloths, all of which she loved to give to all her friends and family. Her sense of humor, loving nature and generous spirit will long be missed. Ada Mae was a member of the Walnut Grove Baptist Church and of the Rebekah Lodge of Ava.
Services were held on Tuesday May 16, at 3 p.m. in the Ava United Methodist Church with the Rev. Greg Dowler and Rev. Maxine Lund officiating. Burial followed in the Ava born July 6, 1947, in Centralia, Wash., and born on Feb. 11, 1908, in Douglas County, and departed this life on May 16, 2006 in Springfield, at the age of 98 years, three months and five days.
Thelma was a resident of Springfield since 1966, moving from the Ava area. She was a sales clerk at the Norman Gentry Drug Store and she also had taught school at White Oak. On Sept. 18, 1933, Thelma and Claude Whetsten were united in marriage in Douglas County.
She was a member of the Lynn Street Baptist Church, Springfield. She loved reading and worked crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in Cemetery, (Goodhope area) with the Pastor Gerald Rushing officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from Saturday until service time. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
Virginia L. Box, 80

Virginia Lehe Box, 80 of Ava, and formerly of Cabool, passed from this life on May 18, 2006, at St. John’s Hospital, in Springfield. She was Born, raised and baptized in Cabool, Virginia moved, married Robert Box of Ava.
Virginia was preceded in Cemetery under the direction of the Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool.
Truman John Loesch, 76

Truman John Loesch, the son of Charles Loesch and Kate (Garrison) Loesch, was born. Truman was a member of the Lutheran Church.
Truman was preceded in born Sept. 5, 1924, in Circleville, Ohio, one of eight sons passed away May 20, 2006.
He joined the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1942 and retired in 1969 from the U.S. Air Force. In 1970 the family retired to the Brushyknob community.
Robert is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth (Betty) Stonerock; three children, Robert, Delores and Tony; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ralph, in April 2003.
