Huey Allen Crumley, 86, of Marston, Mo., born Aug. 22, 1921, at Lawrenceburg, Tenn., the son of Christopher Columbus and Carrie Mae Nelson Crumley.
On Feb. 3, 1940, he was death on July 2, 1996.
Also preceding him in Cemetery.
His grandsons served as pallbearers.
Verda Florence Burleson Hartley, 88

Verda Florence Burleson Hartley, a native of Douglas County, born on April 29, 1920, near Tigris to Decatur “Dee” and Ida Florence Dilbeck Burleson.
Verda was one of eight children in the Burleson household.
Preceding her in married Eldon Hartley from the Arden community. They were death in the year 2000. The couple had three sons, all of whom survive the couple: Raymond and wife, Rose, of Wichita; Jerry and wife Linda of Edmond, Okla., and Gary and wife Jennifer of Wichita. She had 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a special sister-in-law, Dochia Hartley Elenbarger, of Kansas, Okla.
For many years, Verda was a faithful member of the Christian Chapel Foursquare Church in Wichita. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 30, at Smith Mortuary in Derby, Kan. Burial was in White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Wichita. Memorials can be made to the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Reva Russell, 94

Reva Russell, daughter of Joseph Lambert and Vinnie (Cooley) Lambert, was passed away on Aug. 24, 2008, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield, at the age of 94 years. Reva was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of the Ava community. On Oct. 21, 1934 Reva and Donald Bliss Russell were united in marriage in Bertha, Mo., and to this union three children were death by her parents; her husband, Don in 1967; a daughter, Rowena Darlene Forbes; a grandson, Gary Tetrick; one sister, Goldie Dooms; and three brothers, Clark, Archie and Ferley Lambert. Reva is survived by one daughter and husband, Glendoris and Hase Tetrick, Brixey, Mo.; one son, Oscar Russell, Blue Grass, Iowa; a son-in-law, Bob Forbes, Mtn. Grove; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Services were Wednesday, Aug. 27, at 2 p.m. at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Revs. Alva Thurman, Dale Garrison and James Moore officiating. Burial will be in Blanche Cemetery.
Kenny Stout, 56

George Kenneth Stout, son of E.T. Stout and Golda Thurman Stout, was passed away on Aug. 27, 2008 in his home at the age of 56 years.
Kenny was a lifelong resident of Douglas County. He was a grader operator for Douglas County Road & Bridge for 23 years, and was currently working for Ozark County Road and Bridge for the last year and a half.
On Oct. 30, 1970, Kenny and Vicky Ann Riley were united in marriage in Gentryville, and to this union three children were death by his father, E.T. Stout; his grandparents, Jake and Ada Stout, and George and Fila Thurman.
He is survived by his wife, Vicky Stout, of the home in Drury; three children and their spouses, Tina and Andy Boyd, Ava, Missy and Dustin Atchison, Drury, and T.J. and Courtney Stout, Norwood; his mother, Golda Stout, Nixa; 11 grandchildren; one sister and husband, Linda and Doyle Collins, Nixa; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services for Kenny were held Saturday, Aug. 30, at 2 p.m., at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with Dewayne Borders and Gary Moore officiating. Cemetery. The family requests memorials to Blanche born on May 29, 1926 in Kansas City, Mo. and went to her heavenly home on Sept. 4, 2008 at the age of 82 years.
Betty was a resident of the Ava community for several years. On Nov. 26, 1976 Betty and Lawrence Souder were united in marriage at London Heights Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kan. Before retirement, Betty was a secretary for Farmer's Insurance in Overland Park, Kan., and had also worked for H&R; Block. Betty was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church, Ava. Everywhere Betty was a member of a church, she joyfully played the organ. Her life with Lawrence was a blessing and they both enjoyed traveling and got to go to the Holy Land twice. Betty had said that the most beautiful place she had visited was New Zealand. They had the opportunities to attend several Billy Graham Crusades, including one in Russia.
Betty was preceded in Interment followed in the Souder born Dec. 18, 1932, in the Dogwood community of Douglas County, Mo. He departed this life Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008, in his home in Seymour, Mo., at the age of 75 years, 9 months, and 26 days.
On May 17, 1954 he was united in marriage to Donna F. Cornelius and to this union two sons and one daughter were death by his parents; a son, Scotty Wayne Embrey; and two brothers-in-law, Jack Griechen and Herbert Cornelius.
Charles is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Donna, of the home; a son, Eugene Embrey and his wife Kathy, of Seymour, Mo.; a daughter, DeAnn Gunter and her husband Tom, of Ava, Mo.; a daughter-in-law, Karen Embrey, of Seymour, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Josh Embrey and Chad Embrey and his fiancée Larissa Clements, all of Seymour, Mo., Lesley Potter and her husband Lynel, and Lori Gunter, all of Ava, Mo., Misty Embrey and Zackary Embrey, both of Seymour, Mo., and Tonya Gunter and Jalisa Gunter, both of Lansing, Kan.; four great-grandchildren, Maggey Potter, Grady Potter, Tommy Gunter, and Danta Diaz; two brothers, Kenneth Embrey and his wife Lucy, of Rogersville, Mo., and Clyde Embrey and his wife, Betty, of Springfield, Mo.; a sister, Maudena Griechen, of Seymour, Mo.; two brothers-in-law, Howard Cornelius and his wife, Mary Lou, of Fort Worth, Texas, and Leslie Cornelius, Jr., of Seymour, Mo.; two sisters-in-law, Lois Goss and her husband, Herbert, of Fort Worth, Texas and Lil Norris and her husband, Joel, of Seymour, Mo.; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
He grew up in Ava, Mo., and moved with his family to Seymour, Mo., in l948, where he began working in the Vollenweider Orchards. Following his marriage to Donna, they made their home at the orchard and lovingly raised their family. Charles became foreman of the orchards, staying on after they were sold to Head's and then to Murphy's, retiring in 2003 after working for over 52 years.
He also raised Hereford cattle on his farm following his retirement.
Charles had accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized along with his son, Scotty, in January 2008.
He was a member of the Seymour Merchants Association, an honorary member of the Seymour Alumni Association, was past chairman of the Seymour Apple Festival and was the original “True King” of the apple peeling contest. He and Donna received the “Good Citizenship Award” in 2000 and together they delivered “Meals on Wheels” for several years.
Charles was a wonderful family man who was devoted to his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and was a true friend and a caring neighbor. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the wonderful memories he has created for his family and many friends.
Services were at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, in Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Seymour, with the Revs. Mark Terrill and Chris Simmons officiating. Burial was in Seymour Masonic Cemetery.
