Glenn E. Witchey, 99

Glenn E. Witchey, son of Jacob E. Witchey and Hattie Dill Witchey, was passed away on Feb. 12, 2005, in Springfield, at the age of 99 years.
Glenn was a resident of Brookline Station for the past 13 years, moving from Ava, where he lived most of his life. Glenn was a farmer.
On March 5, 1926, Glenn and Gladys M. Evilsisor were united in marriage in Ava, and to this union seven children were death by his parents; four brothers; three sisters; his wife, Gladys; one son, Earl Witchey; and two grandchildren.
Glenn is survived by six children, Cecil E. Witchey, Ava, Arlyce Lankford, Brookline Station, Mo., Leona Arlene Springs, Warsaw, Mo., Robert Witchey, Springfield, Betty Kenyon and Loren Gene Witchey, both of Ava; 18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Fritz, Wichita, Kans.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held Wednesday, Feb. 16, 10 a.m., at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with Pastor Dan Kaffenberger officiating. Cemetery.
Ann Cory, 79

Ann Cory Born and raised in The Netherlands, she was fortunate to survive World War II because her parents owned a grocery store. In 1946, Ann came to California to visit her aunt and uncle, married and moved with Chuck Cory to a larger farm in Douglas County outside Willow Springs. She brought with her a herd of champion Toggenburg goats. Ann had a green thumb and loved all animals, but especially her goats. She enjoyed many handcrafts, including knitting and braiding rugs.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda and her husband, Don Emblen, of California, a son, Vince Schafer, of Alaska, and a daughter, Emma Raborn, of Arkansas. Ann leaves four grandchildren, Neva, Trevor, Ashley, and Ian.

Erna Sidonja Watson, 71

Erna Sidonja Watson, daughter of August Michel and Anna (Scholz) Michel, was born. He preceded her in married Michael Watson in 1974 in Germany and to this union one daughter was death by her parents; her husband, Georg; one son, Karl-Heinz; one great-grandson, Tyler Dobbs; two brothers, and nine sisters.
Erna loved traveling, crocheting, gardening, puzzles, spending time with her family and friends. When she was younger she enjoyed dancing the waltz and the tango. Erna attended the Goodhope Nazarene Church.
Erna will be remembered by her smile and the positive outlook she had on life. She always saw the good in people.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Helga and Gary Emrick, Ava, Birgit and Danny Hylton, Avilla, Mo., Georg and Sandra Kraus, Rockaway Beach, and Tamika and Willie Henry, Ava; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five sis-ters, Anna Sebald, Hilda Rotschka, Margot Laugner, Johanna Anders and Helene Scholze, all of Germany; a special friend, Violet Blakey, Ava; and many other rela-tives and friends.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at the Clinking-beard Chapel with the Rev. Vernon Fuller officiating. Cemetery. Services were conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.

Rev. Charles Jefferson Lynn, son of Charles William Lynn and Annabell (Brewer) Lynn, was death by his parents; his wife, Lela Lynn; and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Euneeda Lynn, of the home, Ava; one brother, Albert Lynn, Hanna City, Ill.; one sister, Dolores Hurtado, Las Cruces, N.M.; several nieces and nephews, step-children, grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Benny DeWitt and Brother Leslie Buckner officiating. Cemetery. Visitation will be today (Thursday) from 6 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorials may be to Bible Way Association, Donovan, Mo.
Dorothy LeVelle, 88

Dorothy Irene LeVelle, the daughter of Frank LeVelle and Mary Irene (Haymaker) LeVelle, was death by her parents, two brothers, Marvin and Marion, one sister, Lola McKinley.
She is survived by two brothers, W.J. "Bill" LeVelle and wife, Judy, Walnut Shade, and Leonard LeVelle, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two sisters, Mary June Miller and husband, Ben, Vinton, Iowa, and Della Walthart, Independence, Iowa; many nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with Brad Smith officiating. Cemetery near Vinton, Iowa.
Jacob 'Jake' Ryan Yeates, 17

Jacob Ryan Yeates, son of David Michael Yeates and Cheri Jean (Jackson) Bowden, was died Nov. 25, 2006, at the age of 17.
Jake had lived in the Ava area since June of this year after moving from Dewey, Ariz. He was a junior at Ava High School.
Jake enjoyed cars, hunting, fishing, and all sports. Jake loved Jesus and wanted his friends to share his love. He had a huge heart for everyone around him and was always there to lend a helping hand. He always greeted you with his big smile and a hug or a strong hand. Jake was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Chino Valley, Ariz., and was baptized on his birthday Sept. 17, 1995.
Jacob was preceded in Interment will be in the Union Grove died of cancer at his home in Ava on Jan. 10, 2007.
Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. at Stringer Funeral Home in Crystal Springs, Miss., on Jan. 14, and graveside services were held at Harmony Baptist Church born Nov. 25, 1931, in Crystal Springs, Miss. He received his education in the Crystal Springs Consolidated School System. He entered active military service when he was activated with the Mississippi National Guard 155th Dixie Division during the Korean War. Marion was awarded a Bronze Star for his services in Korea and an honorable discharge in 1952.
After his military service, Marion returned home to begin a career in the oil field that took him and his family all over the world. When he retired from the oil fields, as a consultant, he continued his love of travel and meeting new people by becoming a truck driver.
Marion was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a third-degree Mason.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Alonza Bell, a wife, Janet Bell, and a wife, Mildred Fairchild Bell.
Survivors include a daughter, Vicky Bell Nienaber and husband, Mike, of Memphis, Tenn.; a son, Thomas (Tommy) Ellis Bell and wife, Sylvia, of Georgetown, Miss.; stepdaughter, Cindy Fairchild Bass and husband, Jackie, Ava; a brother, William E. Bell, Gulfport, Miss.; a sister, Jane Bell Dykes, of Madison; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
