John Michael Lane
March 11, 1972-April 29, 2006
John Michael Lane, 34, of Anderson, Mo., departed this life on Saturday, April 29, 2006, at his residence.
John began his journey on a Saturday morning, March 11, 1972, in El Paso, Texas. John owned and operated Lane Construction for eight years, framing several homes in Bella Vista, Ark., and Joplin, Mo. Most recently he was employed by JI & B Associates in Anderson, Mo. John was a student at Crowder College working on his drafting degree where he made the Dean’s List with one semester left until graduation. He attended the First Baptist Church of Anderson for several years and recently was involved in the construction of the facility for New Life Fellowship. John had accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and was an active part of the church family of New Life Fellowship in Anderson. He would openly witness to his friends and participate in home fellowship.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Raymond Satterlee, two paternal grandmothers, “Jimmie” Lane and Patsy Lane.
John is survived by his son, John Michael Lane II of Anderson; his mother, Patricia Ann Wallain and husband, Gary, of Anderson, Mo.; his father, David Lawrence Lane and wife, Susan, of Waco, Texas; maternal grandparents, Helen and Orville Bailey of Carl Junction, Mo., paternal grandpa, R.C. Lane of Kalispell, Mont.; fiancée, Kellie Pike of Pineville, Mo., and his special niece, Savannah Cook; along with many family, friends and neighbors who will greatly miss John and his smile.
Funeral services for John Michael Lane were held Wednesday, May 3 , 2006, 11 a.m. at the Walker-Dowd Funeral Home Chapel in Anderson, Mo., Pastor Tom Ellis officiating. Gary Wasson, Steve Wasson, Thom Hottinger, Jess Goff, Marcus Pratt and Jerry Adams honored John’s life by serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Dustin Pike, Dewey Pendergraft, Cody Allison, Darren Pierce, Brad Eads and Tony Franklin. Burial followed at the Anderson Cemetery, Anderson, Mo.
Friends paid their respects on Tuesday, May 2, 2006, from 2 until 8 p.m. at the Walker-Dowd Funeral Home in Anderson, Mo. The family received friends from 6 until 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made in loving memory of John Michael Lane to an Educational Fund for his son, John Michael Lane II, or the New Life Fellowship Media Fund in care of the funeral home.

Betty Harmon Kendrick
Feb. 8, 1929 - June 26, 2001
Betty Harmon Kendrick, 72, of Kimberling City, Mo., formerly of Jane, Mo., died Tuesday, June 26, 2001 at Riverview Nursing Home in Ozark, Mo., after a short illness.
Mrs. Betty Kendrick was born Feb. 8, 1929 in Jane, Mo., to the late Walter and Oca Harmon. She was a co-owner of the IGA Supermarket from 1960-1971 in Bolivar, Mo., then employed with U.S. Sprint in Kansas City for eight years. Betty then retired and resided in Kimberling City, Mo.
Survivors include three daughters and one son-in-law, Vicki and Mark Hopkins of Memphis, Tenn., Diane Kendrick Dufresne of Longmont, Texas; three grandchildren, Rhonda Jean Cruz, Robyn Michelle Priest and John Boan Simpson; sour great-grandchildren; one brother, Jim Howell of Auburn, Ind.; one sister, Helen Warr of Rome, Ga.; three stepsons, Lloyd Reynolds of Anderson, Mo., Gale Reynolds of Miami, Okla., Dick Reynolds of Denver, Texas, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2001, at Calvary Christian Center in Oakwood. Pastor Jack Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakwood City Cemetery. An honor guard will be accorded by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Mr. Buttram was a member of the Calvary Christian Center in Oakwood.
Mr. Buttram was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Welch Long.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Marie Buttram of Oakwood; his father and stepmother, John H. Buttram, Sr., and Lenora Buttram of Pineville, Mo.; a daughter, Tina Smith of Oakwood; two sons, John H. Buttram III of Anderson, Mo., and Jeffrey Scott Buttram of Elgin; a sister, Frances Cook of Anderson, Mo.; five brothers, Jack Buttram of Tampa, Fla., Ray Buttram and Bill Buttram, both of Anderson, Mo., Bob Buttram of San Antonio, Texas.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey and Foster in Palestine.

Charles Schmidt, Jr.
June 2, 1935 - June 23, 2001
Charles Schmidt, Jr. 66, of Bella Vista, Ark., died at his home Saturday, June 23, 2001. He was born June 2, 1935 in Chicago, Ill, to Charles Schmidt and Thora Troogstad Schmidt.
He moved to Bella Vista six years ago from Texas.
He was preceded in death by his father and one daughter, Denise Schmidt.
He is survived by two sons, Charles Schmidt of Eureka Springs, Ark., and Scott Schmidt of Anderson, Mo.; one daughter, Dina Meek of Joplin, Mo.; two brothers, Ron Schmidt and Bob Schmidt of Chicago, Ill.; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Friday, June 29, 2001 at 2 p.m. at the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark., with Cal Steward officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Dorothy J. Mortensen, 4 Kensington Lane, AR 72714.

Eugene Daugherty
Dec. 22, 1953 - June 24, 2001
Grover Eugene Daugherty, 47, Anderson, Mo., went home to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, June 24, 2001, at Freeman Neosho Hospital following a sudden illness.
Mr. Daugherty was born Dec. 22, 1953, in Granby, Mo., to Dorathy Cantrell and the late Kenneth Daugherty of Neosho, Mo. He married Emma Brock July 20, 1982.
Mr. Daugherty graduated from Neosho High School in 1971. He was a well-known and respected water well driller for 30 years. He owned Tri-State Drilling in Anderson. He will be greatly missed by a large circle of friends. He was an active member of Cedar Point Holiness Church, Anderson, where he taught the adult Sunday school class. He was a proud sponsor of many local youth programs.
Mr. Daugherty is survived by his wife, Emma, and a much loved daughter, Amanda Daugherty, of Anderson.
Other survivors include his parents, Gene and Dorathy Cantrell, Neosho; two brothers, Joe Daugherty and wife Rita of Goodman, Mo., and Ray Daugherty and wife Florie of Neosho; a sister, LaDonna Lawson and husband Carl of Neosho. He also shared his life with four stepchildren, Kathy Stout and husband Eddie, Vicky Hines and husband Bill, Becky Williams and husband Tim, all of Anderson, and Tim Brock and wife Stacy of Rocky Comfort; and several nieces and nephews. He cherished 15 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2001, at Clark Chapel of Memories, Neosho. Pastor Bryan Jones and the Rev. Larry Jones will officiate. Burial will be in the Mayfield Cemetery in Goodman. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call at Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
