Ruby Songer
Ruby Songer, age 54, formerly of Laurie, born September 8, 1950, in Sedalia, the daughter of Robert and Ruby Van Riper Dore. Ruby was a waitress at various restaurants around the lake. She is survived by one son, Clint Montgomery of Dexter, MO; one daughter, Ramona Mason of Dexter, MO; four brothers, Mike Dore and Richard Dore both of Carthage, MO, and David Dore and John Dore both of Wichita, KS; three sisters, Evelyn Pryor of Springfield, MO, and Rosalie Deckard and Jane Johnson both of Carthage, MO; three grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. Ruby was preceded in Cemetery in Laurie. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Central Missouri Kidney Association, P.O. Box 1915, Columbia, MO, 65205. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Laurie.

Walter A. Christiansen
Walter A. Christiansen, age 88, of Sunrise Beach, born April 12, 1917 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of John A. and Elvira Bye Christiansen. He was united in marriage on July 1, 1939 with Harriet K. Nilsen, who preceded him in passed away Wednesday morning, August 10, 2005 at his home. He was death by his parents and one brother, Dale Williams. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 12, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles. Cemetery. Casketbearers will be grandsons, Jared Williams, Josh Dunham, Ryan Hodges, Cody Dunham, Kevin Easton and Scott Bauer. Honorary casketbearers will be his high school basketball teammates, Phil Hart, Billy Silvey, Ray Silvey, Bill Beard and Bill Ishmael. Friends may call from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation or the American Heart Association. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.

JoAnn Kessler
JoAnn Kessler, age 78, of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, born August 27, 1926 in Alton, Iowa, the daughter of John and Nellie Leenhouts Vrieze. She was united in marriage on July 13, 1946 to Fred Kessler who preceded her in Cemetery in Laurie. Casketbearers are Dottie Llafet, Linda Frymyer, JoAnn Greer, Roberta Waters, Carol Lawson, and Linda Hawk. Honorary Casketbearers are Yogi Vasicek, Keith Reeves, Tim McFadden, Tom Jeschke, Rick Archer, Marty Meyer, and Phillip Blalock. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church Alter Cloth fund & Westover Baptist Church in Des Moines, Iowa. Virginia L. Aggeler
Virginia L. Aggeler, age 82, of Versailles, born February 10, 1923 in Idalia, MO, the daughter of Simon Zander and Mila Ann Hale Weaver. Virginia worked at Brown Shoe Company in Versailles for twenty years, was a homemaker, and member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by one daughter, Kay Newcomb and husband Terry, of Poplar Bluff, MO; two sisters, Lillian Schultz of Alton, IL, and Virgie Palmer of Poplar Bluff, MO; two grandchildren, Paula Robinson and Justin Newman; five great-grandchildren, Lindsay, Stephen, Dani, Jeremy and Zoe, many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 Saturday at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.

Charles Barton Thistle
Charles Barton Thistle, age 89, of Gravois Mills, born October 28, 1915 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Charles Ernest and Imogene Barton Thistle. He was united in marriage on August 23, 1945 with Mary S. Shipman. Mr. Thistle was a retired gemologist and owned and operated Woodstock Hoeffer Wholesale Jewelry Company in Kansas City, and was a diamond salesman for Harry Winston of New York. He graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia, was a member of the PHI PSI Fraternity, and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Mary S. Thistle of the home; three daughters, Elaine V. Graham of Stover, Jeanette Gaches of Springfield, and Charlene Thistle of the home; eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one nephew, Laurence Garceau of Maine. In addition to his parents he was preceded in interment will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Mount Moriah passed away Wednesday morning, August 31, 2005 west of Versailles from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born October 25, 1962 in Versailles, the son of Richard and Linda Sue Drury Ypya. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ypya and two daughters, Tabitha Ypya and Harlie Rodriguez, of the home. Additional survivors include two daughters, Samantha Ypya and Amanda Ypya, of Illinois; two sisters, Terri E. Bergman of Kansas City, and Tammy Sue Ypya of Collinsville, Illinois, his step grandmother, Ruth Drury of Versailles, many other relatives and friends. Tommy’s love of children reached many. Kids liked participating in outdoor activities with him. He enjoyed the comradery of trail rides with family and friends. Tommy grew up on his grandparents farm south of Versailles, and as a child he grew to love the outdoors. Much of his young adulthood was spent coon hunting with his friends. He could frequently be seen with his two daughters teaching them to ride horses, hunt, fish and share in his appreciation of the outdoors. He was probably one of the best rock layers in Central Missouri and the beauty will live on for years in the work he created. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his wife, girls, and many friends in the community. Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 3, at Calvary Baptist Church near Versailles, with Rev. William Johnson officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Thomas Ypya Memorial Fund for his daughter’s care. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
