Bettie L. Gardner
Bettie L. Gardner, age 75, of Sunrise Beach, born October 19, 1929, in Beach Grove, Kentucky, the daughter of Willis and Bessie L. Morgan Fireline. Bettie loved to paint and enjoyed crafting. She is survived by her husband Ramon of 57 years of the home; her children, Richard Gardner and wife Carol of Oswego, Illinois, Sharon Goldsberry and husband Larry of Montgomery, Illinois, Joye Morrison and husband Pat of Atlanta, Georgia, Brenda Jakious and husband Randall of Naperville, Illinois, Ramon Wayne Gardner and wife Cheryl of Newberg, Oregon, Michael Gardner and wife Millie of Aurora, Illinois, and David Gardner and wife Cynthia stationed in Turkey with the United States Air Force; seventeen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, October 3, 2005, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Laurie. Cemetery in Laurie. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Laurie.

Keith Allen “Kerrdog” Kerr
Keith Allen “Kerrdog” Kerr, age 51, of Sunrise Beach, born May 24, 1954 in Moberly, Missouri, the son of Robert Raymond and Mary Sue Skinner Kerr. He was united in marriage on December 14, 1974 with Rebecca Fern Miner. Keith graduated from Camdenton High School, and formerly owned and operated Laurie Market in Laurie and Kerr’s Country Mart in Greenview. He was a member of Osage Hills Baptist Church, the Linn Creek Masonic Lodge #152 A.F. & A.M. in Camdenton, Abou Ben Adhem Shrine in Springfield, and Osage Community Elks Lodge #2705 in Laurie. Keith loved watching children play sports, was an avid Laker sports fan, enjoyed boating, traveling, scuba diving, and was just recently scuba certified. He is survived by his wife, Becky Kerr of the home; two sons, Michael Kerr and Curtis Kerr, both of the home; one daughter, Dana Kerr of Sunrise Beach; two grandchildren, Kali and Allyson, many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in Interment will be in Garber Memorial Estates passed away Monday, October 3, 2005, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. She was death on June 16, 1983. Fay was a life long resident of Gravois Mills. She was a member of the Gravois Mills United Methodist Church, was a Deputy Sheriff in Gravois for 10 years, was instrumental in keeping the Post Office in town, and owned and operated several businesses in Gravois such as Squirrel Town and Vacation Village. During her retirement she enjoyed shell craft, embroidery, crochet, building, and working in her yard. She is survived by one daughter, Mary Margaret Gerlt and husband Richard of Gravois Mills; two grandsons Bill Gerlt and wife Karen of Dallas, Texas, and Bob Gerlt and wife Lori of St. Charles, Missouri; four grandchildren Austin and Hannah Gerlt of St. Charles, and Deitrich and Nastasha Gerlt of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Linnie Waisner of Versailles; and one sister-in-law, Nona Moore of Laurie; and many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Fay was preceded in Interment will be in the Versailles passed away Sunday evening, October 2, 2005 at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. She was death by one daughter, Susanna McDonald and three brothers. Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 9, at the Florence United Methodist Church, with Reverend Ray Vernado officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.

Wayne Carl Thomas
Wayne Carl Thomas, age 49, of Versailles, born March 3, 1956 in Smithville, Missouri, the son of William Ray and Gladys B. Grunice Thomas. He was united in marriage on August 30, 1974 to Stephanie Ann Slota. They have made the Versailles area their home for the last 20 years. Wayne loved to hunt and fish. He was a heavy equipment operator and used his talent in several construction projects in the Lake Ozark area. He was an amateur HAM radio operator, a hobby he enjoyed and shared with family and friends, and a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Versailles. He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Ann Thomas of the home; six children, Michael Thomas and wife Donna, Michelle Berry, Rachael Thomas, and Jordan Thomas, all of Versailles, and Mark Thomas, and Daniel Thomas and wife Jeanelle, of Holt Summit; one sister, Wenona Fischer and husband Danny, of Watson, MO, seven grandchildren, Jonathan, Amber, Vered, Alex, Nicholas, Nicole and Dakota, five nieces and great nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in Interment will be in the Versailles passed away Friday morning, August 5, 2005, at the Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles. He was death by one son Robert Henry Gares, and one brother Wesley Gares. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, August 8, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles, with full military honors at the funeral home following the service provided by the American Legion Zack Wheat Post #624 of Sunrise Beach. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 7, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Hampton Veterans Memorial Gardens in Hampton, Virginia. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Versailles United Methodist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.

Douglas W. Jansen
Douglas W. Jansen, age 26, of Gravois Mills, born May 9, 1979 in South St. Paul, Minnesota, the son of Paul A. and Susan E. Olson Jansen. He was a 1997 graduate of Morgan County R-II High School in Versailles, and a 1998 graduate of the Lake Area Vocational Technical School where he studied marine technology. He worked for various marinas in the Lake area and then in Mandeville, Louisiana, before returning to Gravois Mills. He was presently running the family motel, Drop Anchor Resort and Motel in Gravois Mills. He is survived by his parents, Paul A. and Susan E. Jansen of Gravois Mills; one brother, Jeffrey Jansen of Yorktown, Virginia; two uncles, Norbert of St. Louis, and Steve Olson and family of Miami, Florida; one nephew, Patrick of Versailles, and five cousins and many friends. He was preceded in Interment will be in the St. Patrick Cemetery in Laurie. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
