MARGARET JANE (RUSH) FURKIN

Friday, February 26, 1926 - Tuesday, March 1, 2016

Margaret Jane (Rush) Furkin, 90, of Fulton passed away peacefully March 1, 2016, at her home.

She was born on February 26, 1926 in LaCygne, KS., the daughter of the late Edwin Franklin Rush and the late Margaret May (Taylor) Rush.

On December 25, 1951, Jane was united in marriage to the late Roy Hiestand Furkin. Her college sweetheart, they remained inseparable until his passing in January of this year.

Jane was a lifelong teacher, beginning her teaching career in Rockville, Mo. while still in college, due to the shortage of teachers during World War II. She finished her college degree, graduating from Central Missouri State College. After her marriage to Roy, she continued her teaching career while also serving as a full-time mother to their three children. They moved their family to Fulton in 1967 and Jane began teaching in the Fulton Public School system. She retired as a full time teacher in 1992, but continued to teach part-time well into her eighties. She opened the doors to her classroom as a positive role model for teachers in training, spreading her joy of teaching. This dedication to her career extended to Sunday school classes, 4H group activities, and neighborhood children. A breast cancer survivor, she was a practical woman who instilled in her children and grandchildren a can-do attitude regarding work and life. Her love of children extended to her grandchildren, being involved in their childhood development.

Jane was a founding member of Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church (Lakewood, Co.) and an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Fulton for 48 years. She loved to play Bridge and other games with friends and family. Her grandchildren in particular often enjoyed a very competitive game of Blockus or Dominos.

Jane was a member of Delta Sigma Epsilon Sorority, Missouri State Teachers Association, and Missouri Retired Teachers Association.

Jane will be greatly missed by sons, Steven Furkin (Kim Crha) of Fort Worth, Tx., and Roger Furkin (Jennifer) of Dallas, Tx. & Columbia, Mo; daughter, Brenda McDorman (Michael) of Four Seasons, Mo.; brothers, James Rush (Joane) of Butler, Mo, and Howard Rush (Doris) of Wichita, Ks. sisters-in-law, Lucille Rush of Denver, Co; grandchildren, Stacy, Casey, Cameo, Colley, Shane, Cassidy, Sharon, Renee, Jason, Reece, and Jameson; step-grandchildren, Katie, Laura, Jon, and David; and twenty-one great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; granddaughter, Dawn Michelle; brothers, Paul, John and Ellis Rush; and sister, Lois Irwin; brother-in-law, Frederick Irwin; and sister-in-law, Geraldine Rush.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 5 at First Presbyterian Church of Fulton with Reverend Aaron White officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Jane’s final resting place will be Oaklawn cemetery, LaCygne, Ka.

MARY LOU TRENT

Monday, June 18, 1928 - Saturday, April 9, 2016

Mary Lou Trent, 87, of Fulton passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Boone Hospital Center.

She was born in Henderson, North Carolina on June 8, 1928, the daughter of the late Roger Duke and the late Fannie (Joyner) Duke.

Mary enjoyed crocheting and collecting stamps and coins, and most importantly, time spent with her family.

She is survived by son, Kenneth Trent of Fulton; daughter, Karen Trent of Fulton; granddaughter, Tammy Bashford and husband, Tim of Fulton; and great-grandchildren, Kathryne and Andrew Gibson.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Roger Duke.

No services are planned at this time.

MARY JOANN TROUT

JULY 20, 1963 - SEPTEMBER 15, 2017

Mary Joann Trout, 54, of Auxvasse passed away on Friday, September 15, 2017 at University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics.

She was born in Tampa, Florida on July 20, 1963, the daughter of Frank Collins and Dorothy (Goodburn) Collins.

Mary liked to fish and listen to music. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Her loss will be deeply felt by her family including husband, Joseph Trout; son, Pete Trout (Megan) of Kingdom City; daughter, Elizabeth Wright (James) of Auxvasse; brothers, David and Andrew Collins of Adrian; sisters, Denise Trout (Jay) of Creighton, and Sandra Hamilton of Ohio; and nine grandchildren.

Per Mary’s wishes, no services will be held at this time.

MARY L. KOPRIVICA

Tuesday, June 13, 1922 - Monday, March 14, 2016

Mary L. Koprivica, 93, of Kingdom City passed away on Monday, March 14, 2016 at The Neighbors in Columbia, Mo.

She was born in Kirksville, Mo. on June 13, 1922, the daughter of the late Robert Sangster and the late Beulah (Flinchpaugh) Sangster.

Mary was united in marriage to Paul S. Koprivica who preceded her in death.

Those remaining to mourn her loss include son, Steve Koprivica (Susan) of Auxvasse; daughter, Paula Fleming of Columbia; and several grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by brother, Robert Sangster.

No services are planned at this time.

MARGIE LYNN ADRIAN

Thursday, June 27, 1957 - Monday, March 14, 2016

Margie Lynn Adrian, 58, of Fulton passed away on Monday, March 14, 2016, at her home, surrounded by those who loved her most.

She was born on June 27, 1957 in Fulton, the daughter of the late Albert Frasher and the late Margie Cleo (Brandt) Frasher.

On August 4, 2007, Margie was united in marriage to Michael Adrian. He survives her passing.

For 15 years, Margie worked in the dietary department at William Woods University. She loved to play on the computer, bake, and cook up a good meal. She was a prankster and liked to play jokes on people. She liked to watch TV, especially Animal Planet, GSN, and the Hallmark Channel. One of her favorite past times was playing cards with her friends Wendy and Fred. While all of those things brought her joy, her greatest moments were those spent with her family.

Margie is survived by her husband of eight years; son, Michael Loucks (Dion); daughter, Alicia Loucks (Frank); step-sons, Chris and Jon Adrian; step-daughter, Laur,.e Long (Steve); brother, Ace Frasher (Debbie); sister, Christie Craighead (Dale); and grandchildren, Cayla, Dustin, Jayden, Stevie, and Hunter, all of Fulton,

Along with her parents, Margie was preceded in death by her beloved son, Jason Loucks.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 18, 2016 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Hams Prairie cemetery.
