Madison L. Meyer
Madison Lynn Meyer, 2 days, infant daughter of Ashlee Barton and Ronald Eugene Meyer Jr. of St. John, Mo., was born Nov. 27, 2004, and died Nov. 29, 2004, at Cardinal Glennon Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
In addition to her parents, other survivors include two sisters, Macayla Elizabeth Meyer, Destiny Renee Barton, both of the home; grandparents, Heidi and David Barton, Poplar Bluff, Beverly Ramshur, Piedmont, Martha and Ronnie Meyer, Piedmont; great-grandmothers, Nadine Barton, Fisk, Kay Zamzow, Loretta Lundy, both of Piedmont; great-great-grandmother, Eva Lee Fisher, Piedmont.
The funeral was held Dec. 4 at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, with Julie Ruble officiating.
Pallbearer was Ronnie Meyer Jr.
Burial was in Masonic Cemetery.

Jennifer Rankin
Jennifer Marie Rankin, 30, of Belleville, Ill., died Nov. 29, 2004, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville.
She was born April 6, 1974, in St. Louis County, Mo., daughter of the late Harold and Darlene (Bucher) Rankin.
Miss Rankin went to school in Illinois.
She is survived by one sister, Deborah (Darrin) Freeman, Belleville, Ill.; one brother, Arthur (Renee) Rankin, DeSoto; grandfather, Delbert Bucher, Springfield; grandmother, Maxine (Edison) Morgan, Williamsville; uncle, Dwight Bucher, Springfield; aunt, Carolyn (Raul) Guerrant, Gerald.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Beatrice Bucher.
The funeral was held Dec. 1 at the Assembly of God Church in Williamsville with Rev. Delbert Bucher officiating.
Burial was in Duncan Cemetery, Williamsville.

Virginia Proffitt
Virginia Irene Proffitt, 21, died Nov. 16, 2004, in Piedmont, Mo.
She was born June 10, 1983, in Houston, Texas, daughter of Donald Barnes and Patsy Barnes, who survive.
She was united in marriage to David Proffitt and he survives.
Mrs. Proffitt was a home health care worker.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by two children, Austin Kime and Victoria Proffitt, both of the home; grandfather, Gene Reeves.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Becker, and grandmother, Victoria Reeves.
The funeral was held Nov. 18 at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, with Rev. C.J. Casteel officiating and music by Rev. Casteel and Virginia Dinkins.
Pallbearers were Larry Marble, John A. Reeves, John D. Reeves, Jerry Reeves, Jerry Casey and Thomas Hime.
Burial was in Mt. View Cemetery.

Arthur C. Sweezea
Arthur Clinton Sweezea, 76, died Nov. 25, 2004, in Mexico, Mo.
He was born April 9, 1928, in Wayne County, Mo., son of the late Turner and Nancy (Kiger) Sweezea.
He was united in marriage for 50 years to Betty Jean Boyer, and she survives, residing in Gerald.
Mr. Sweezea was a machinist for Brown Tool Company in Patterson.
He attended White Hollow General Baptist Church, Clubb.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, DeWayne Arthur Sweezea, Gerald; one daughter, Paula (Robert) Sweezea-Besalke, Mexico; one brother, Arvel Sweeza, Poplar Bluff; one sister, Eathel Hill, Boonville; two grandchildren, Melissa Sweezea, Amber Oxley.
Preceding him in death were two brothers, Ira and Luther Sweezea, and one sister, Edith Hill.
The funeral was held Nov. 29 at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, with Rev. Clinton Massey and Rev. Junior Bennett officiating.
Music was provided by Shirley and Ivan McGee, Marie Massey and Regina McCulley.
Pallbearers were Robert Besalke, Doug Sweezea, Ivan McGee, Dale Boyer, Jeff Sweeza and Charles Sweeza.
Burial was in Carson Hill Cemetery, Mill Spring.

Nadine Mills
Nadine Mills, 73, died Nov. 23, 2004, at her home in Piedmont, Mo.
She was born Nov. 11, 1931, in Biggers, Ark., daughter of the late Emmit and Stella (Pogue) Brewster.
She was united in marriage to Rodney Mills Nov. 27, 1946, and he preceded her in death Jan. 15, 1999.
Mrs. Mills was a seamstress at New Era Shirt Manufacturing in Ironton for several years.
She enjoyed fishing, quilting and crocheting and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Annapolis.
She is survived by one son, Joe (Nancy) Mills, Annapolis; two daughters, Stella (Bob) Firebaugh, Piedmont, Margie Sherrill, Ironton; one brother, Harold Brewster, Salem, Ill.; two sisters, Eileen Rust, Percy, Ill., Mac Inselman, Delavin, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two faithful companions, Peanuts and Fonzie.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Mike, Tom and John Mills, one granddaughter, two brothers and one sister.
The funeral was held Nov. 27 at Wilson Funeral Home, Fredericktown, with Bro. Clarence Casteel officiating.
Pallbearers were Rodney Joe Mills, Andrew Firebaugh, Albert Firebaugh, Rickie Brown, Jeremiah Sutton and Joseph Sutton.
Honorary pallbearer was Manny Mills.
Burial was in Marcus Memorial Park Cemetery, Fredericktown.

Marjorie B. 'Spec' Adams
Marjorie Beth "Spec" Adams, 94, died Nov. 28, 2004, at Farmington Presbyterian Manor in Farmington, Mo.
She was born Sept. 22, 1910, in Numa, Iowa, daughter of the late Alexander and Frances (Wychoff) Becknal.
She was united in marriage to James Oscar Adams Oct. 19, 1926, in Greenville, and he preceded her in death Jan. 16, 1975.
She lived most of her life in Vulcan, except the last 14 years she has been with her daughter, Phyllis, of Farmington.
She attended the Baptist Church of Des Arc and the Assembly of God Church in Vulcan.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, Oscar D. Adams, Overland; one daughter, Phyllis Mertell, Farmington; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; six step-grandchildren; 15 step-great-grandchildren; 15 step-great-great-grandchildren; four daughters-in-law, Opal Vick, Pauline Hopkins, Mary Adams, Jo Adams.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Marshall "Jack" Adams, Delmer "Buddy" Adams; three stepsons, Delbert, Willard and Alvin Adams; one brother, Neal Becknal; two sisters, Alice Lewis, Blanche Sykes; two sons-in-law, Raymond Mertell, Bert Anglin; two step-daughters-in-law, Cora Adams, Neva Grotweil; two step-grandsons, Michael and Alvin Adams.
The funeral was held Nov. 30 at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, with Rev. Jerry Cuneio officiating.
Pallbearers were Billy Lee, Aurlin Pennington, Sam Adams, Kenneth "Cub" Ruble, Leland "Cotton" Ruble and John Adams.
Honorary Pallbearers were Stanley, Dennis, Steve, Lavern, Terry and Greg Adams.
Burial was in Mt. View Cemetery, Des Arc.

Billy D. Mann
Billy D. Mann, 33, died Nov. 25, 2004, at his residence in Mill Spring, Mo.
He was born Aug. 2, 1971, in Poplar Bluff, Mo., son of Billy J. and Judy (Foster) Mann, who survive and reside in Mill Spring.
He was a self-employed timber worker.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one son, Hayden Mann; two daughters, Rhea and Lily Mann, all of Piedmont; two sisters, Carolyn (Wade) Lacey, Roberta Mann, all of Piedmont; grandmother, Clara Mann, Piedmont; one niece, Tara Moyers; one nephew, Jeremy Lacey.
The funeral was held Nov. 27, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, with Dr. Frank W. Myers officiating.
Pallbearers were Matt L'Heureux, Rusty Besher, Nathan Singleton, Robert DeClue, David Miller and Franklin Kinney.
Burial was in Mill Spring Cemetery.

Milburn L. 'Speck' Mann
Milburn L. "Speck" Mann, 74, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, at his residence in St. Louis, Mo., after a short battle with cancer.
He was born July 5, 1930, in Leeper, Mo., son of Ollie Mann, who survives and resides in Piedmont, and the late Ora Mann.
He was united in marriage to Norma Knott July 29, 1950, in Pocahontas, Ark., and she survives, residing in St. Louis.
Mr. Mann served his country during the Korean War.
He was a member of Masonic Lodge #623 AF & AM for 25 years.
He was a retired driver for Teamsters Local 600.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and visiting with his friends.
He was affiliated with the United Church of Christ.
Other survivors include one son, Steven (Mary) Mann, St. Louis; four brothers, Wilburn Mann, Hillsboro, Donald Mann, Maryland Heights, Norman Mann, Greenville, Ora "Babe" Mann, Piedmont; six sisters, Elma Roever, O'Fallon, Thelma Brinkley, Frieda Farris, Dianne Webb, all of Piedmont, Connie Webb, Arnold, Geneva Skelton, St. Louis; two grandchildren, Timothy and Susan Mann.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Wilma Cowin.
The funeral was held Nov. 29 at Kutis Funeral Home in Afton with Dr. Martha Brunell officiating.
Serving as pallbearers were Tim Mann, Babe Mann, Larry Evans, Doug Ellington, Jeffery Hamilton and Lenny Reeves.
Burial was in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with military honors.
