Delores Moore Bogard, 53, of Red Banks, died Sept. 5, 2005 at Methodist Hospital Germantown. She was a teacher’s assistant.

Services were held at 1 p.m. on Sept. 10 at Royal Chapel CME Church at Threeway. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Serenity Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves a daughter, Sharal Sullivan of Memphis, Tenn.; two sons, Lawrence and Santez Bogard of Red Banks; her mother, Clara Carruthers of Holly Springs; nine brothers, Sammy Moore, Phillip Moore, Emmitt Woodson, all of Red Banks, Kenny Moore of Rossville, Tenn., Ezell Evans of Memphis, I.L. Fitzpatrick, Elbert and Charles Fitzpatrick, all of Mt. Pleasant, Donald Fitzpatrick of Holly Springs; eight sisters, Betty Jordan, Ericstine Muhammed, Bernice Roberts, Gloria Moore, all of Memphis, Louise Wright of Barton, Bonnie Hassell, Jacqueline Jones, Sandra Fitzpatrick, all of Mt. Pleasant; and four grandchildren.

Marcus S. Braddock
Marcus S. Braddock, 22, of Holly Springs, died Sept. 9, 2005 at Alliance HealthCare System.

Services were held at 12 noon on Sept. 14, at Yarbrough Chapel CME Church. Rev. Michael Adams officiated. Serenity Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his mother, Sharon Braddock of Holly Springs; his father, Herman Riddle of Ashland and two brothers, Dentrell Braddock of Holly Springs and Jeremy Riddle of Memphis, Tenn.

Grady Lee Brooks
Grady Lee Brooks, 78, of Byhalia, died Sept. 8 at home. He was a retired truck driver and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Services were held at 3 p.m. on Sept. 10 at Emory Independent Methodist Church, where he was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Bro. Leon Burton officiated. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Alma Jean Brooks; two sons, William Brown of Memphis, Tenn., Ron Brown of Bartlett, Tenn.; three daughters, Priscilla Herron of Memphis, Glinda Miller of Bartlett, Krista Felty of Byhalia; two brothers. V.O. Brooks of Corinth, Joel Wayne Brooks of Trenton, Tenn.; two sisters, Edna Merle Rogers of Corinth, Fannie Mae Ballister of Ripley; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Michael Brooks, Jimmy Brooks, Donny Spencer, Tony Palmer, Billy Rogers and Oscar Brooks.

R.L. Burnside
R.L. Burnside, 78, of Byhalia, died Sept. 1, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. He was a musician.

Services were held at 1 p.m. on Sept. 10 at Rust College. Burial was in Free Springs Cemetery in Harmontown. Rodgers Funeral Home in Coldwater was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Alice Mae Taylor Burnside; four daughters, Mildred Jean Burnside of Memphis, Linda Jackson, Brenda Kay Brooks, Pamela Denise Burnside, all of Holly Springs; nine sons, Melvin Burnside of Looxahoma, R.L. Burnside Jr. of Byhalia, Calvin Burnside of Davenport, Iowa, Joseph Burnside of Byhalia, Daniel Burnside of Davenport, Iowa, Duwayne Burnside, Dexter Burnside, Garry Burnside, Rodger Harmon, all of Holly Springs; three sisters, Lucille Burnside, Verelean Burnside, Mat Burnside, all of Chicago, Ill.; a brother, Jesse Monia of Memphis, Tenn.; 35 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

George Campbell
George Campbell, 73, of Holly Springs, died Sept. 3, 2005 at Baptist Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven. He was a city worker for the City of Holly Springs.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on Sept. 10 at Kimbrough Chapel MB Church in Lamar, where he was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Tony Wilkins officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Virginia Kiser Campbell of Toledo, Ohio; a daughter, Virginia Campbell Rucker of Southaven; two sisters, Lizzie Bowen of Holly Springs; Dora Gulledge of Memphis, Tenn.; three brothers, McArthur Campbell, Richard Campbell, Clayton Campbell, all of Chicago, Ill.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were James Bowen, Kinard King, Victor Gulledge, Tretrius Bowen, Albert Bowen, Michael Campbell, Cornell Campbell Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Oscar Bowen, Richard Campbell, MacArthur Campbell, and Clayton Campbell.

Cynthia Marie Carroll
Cynthia Marie Carroll, 44, of Olive Branch, died Sept. 4, 2005 in Senatobia. She was a supervisor at Brentwood Originals.

Services were held at 10 a.m. on Sept. 7 at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia. Burial was in Blocker Cemetery.

She leaves a son, Bradley Carroll of Senatobia; her parents, Robert L. Givens Sr. of Byhalia, Joy Rolleston of Cumming, Ga.; and a brother, Rob Givens of Byhalia.

Julene Cooper Littlejohn
Julene Cooper Littlejohn, 89, of Byhalia, died Sept. 5, 2005 at Baptist Hospital in Collierville, Tenn.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on Sept. 8 at Bethel Baptist Church near Pinedale. Burial was in the church cemetery. Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves a son, Jackie R. Cooper of Byhalia; a daughter, Glenda Sue Yager of Memphis, Tenn.; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Carronia Mable Scruggs Mays
Carronia Mable Scruggs Mays, 69, of Coldwater, died Sept. 1, 2005 at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis, Tenn.

Services were held at 12 noon on Sept. 10 at Chulahoma Baptist Church in Chulahoma, where she was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rodgers Funeral Home in Coldwater was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves five daughters, Wonda J. Garrett of Coldwater, Vera Butler of Memphis, Tenn., Versie Smith of Memphis, Chlearo Wilkins of Holly Springs, Linda V. Mays of Oxford; two sons, William E. Mays of Southaven, Donald Mays of Olive Branch; three sisters, Versie Jones of Booneville, Earma Davis of Chicago, Ill., Mae Alice Jackson of Bloomingdale, Ill.; 19 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Walter Arthur Lorenz
Walter Arthur Lorenz, 85, of Snow Lake Shores, died Sept. 4, 2005 at Tippah Co. Hospital in Ripley. He was a Catholic, and expediter at GT Electric and an Army veteran of World War II.

Services were held at 3 p.m. on Sept. 7 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Holly Springs. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Elmhurst, Ill. Father Leonard Elder officiated. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Mary Lorenz; a son, Robert Arthur Lorenz of Waterford, Mich.; a daughter, Mary Ann Sullivan of Snow Lake; a brother, Raymond Lorenz of Elmhurst, Ill.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
