Brailee Grace Boyette

Brailee Grace Boyette, infant, died June 15, 2007 at Women’s Hospital in Tupelo.

Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. on June 17 at Walnut Creek Cemetery in Ripley. Dr. Lynn Jones officiated. McBride Funeral Home in Ripley was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves her parents, Brad and Lee Braddock Boyette of Booneville; a brother, Asa Boyette of Booneville; a sister, Lara Lee Key of Booneville; her grandfather, Jimmy Braddock of Southaven; three aunts, Julie Bell of Southaven, Sandra Aldridge of Holly Springs, Hattie Chambers of Piperton, Tenn.; and two uncles, Ronnie Braddock of Olive Branch, Stanley Byrd of Southaven.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church Nursery Fund, 401 West Church St., Booneville, MS 38829

William Thomas Cunningham

William Thomas Cunningham, 64, of Tupelo, died June 18, 2007 at North MS Medical Center in Tupelo. He was a Baptist and a member of Bellview Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He worked for Wurlitzer Company as a supervisor for many years before he became disabled. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on June 20 at Bethany Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Bro. Donald Worsham and Bro. Randy Smith officiated. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife of 42 years, Mary Nell Anderson Cunningham; a son, Jeffrey M. Cunningham of Ripley; a daughter, Gena Hudson of Tupelo; a brother, Mike Cunningham of Slayden; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Phillip Anderson, Phillip Cunningham, Steven Greer, Jason Greer, Greg Gray, Michael Gray, Leslie Anderson and Bobby Greer.

Curtis Aquilla Greer

Curtis Aquilla (A.Q.) Greer, 76, of Holly Springs, died June 17, 2007 at his home. He was a graduate of Potts Camp High School and the University of Mississippi. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Holly Springs, where he had served as a past administrative board chairman. The owner of Greer and White Insurance Company, he was the assistant commissioner of the State Board of Insurance for 18 years, first president of the Mississippi Private School Association, a founding member of Marshall Academy Christian School and board member for 38 years. A former Merchants and Farmers bank board of directors member, he was past president of the Holly Springs Rotary Club, past board president of the Professional Insurance Agents Association, a former associate of Holly Springs Funeral Home, Briarcrest Nursing Home in Ashland and Resthaven Nursing Home in Ripley. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He served many years on the Marshall County Airport Board and was presently a board member of the Northwest Community College Foundation.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on June 21 at First United Methodist Church with burial in Hill Crest Cemetery. Rev. Milton Boyd will officiate. Holly Springs Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Sara Doxey Greer; two sons, Curtis M. Greer of Holly Springs, John Robert Greer of Oxford; a sister, Katherine Sundstrom of Holly Springs; and five grandchildren, Anna Greer, Jennifer Greer, Wright Greer, John Greer and Anne Greer.

He was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Martha Ann Cook Greer.

Pallbearers will be Charles Thomas, Hoyt Johnson, Bob Carrington, Leslie Sigman, Scooter Pipkin, Dr. Tommy Simpson, Bob Lomenick, Ben Seale, Tommy Brown.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chunn Sneed, Bryan Sullivan, Deloach Cope, Julien Tatum, Dr. Barry McIntosh, Dr. Bill Booth, Hon. George Dale and Hon. Rook Moore III.

Joseph Frayser

Joseph (Joey) Frayser, 34, of Potts Camp, died June 16, 2007 at Tri-Lakes Medical Center in Batesville. He was a carpet layer.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on June 19 at Bethlehem Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, where he was a member. Bro. Steve Wilson officiated. Burial was in Frayser Family Cemetery. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Kimberly Caine Frayser; a daughter, Nicky Caine of Batesville; two sons, Jordan Frayser, Nicholas Frayser, both of Batesville; a stepson, Joseph Cocke of Atway; his mother, Dorothy Frayser of Potts Camp; four sisters, Agnes Owens, Mary Boren, both of Potts Camp, Kathy Hopkins of New Albany, Janet Wilson of Potts Camp; and five brothers, George Frayser, Robert (Buck) Frayser, Aubrey Guy Frayser, Nathan Michael Frayser, Frankie Frayser, all of Potts Camp; and his grandmother, Maggie Graham of Potts Camp.

He was preceded in death by his father, Nathan Frayser.

Essie Lee Suggs Henderson

Essie Lee Suggs Henderson, 67, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Holly Springs and Chicago, Ill., died June 11, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital-Bartlett in Bartlett, Tenn. She was a member of a church in Chicago and a factory worker with General Electric in Chicago.

Services were held at 1 p.m. on June 16 at Smith Grove MB Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. T.L. James Sr. officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves her caregiver, Barbara Tileman of Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters, Rosie L. Greer, Jean E. Tileman, both of Memphis, Tenn.; and a brother, Henry James Greer of Memphis, Tenn.

Pallbearers were James Speaks, Sean Speaks, Alexander Shead, Sherry Shead, Travis Seals and Darryl Shead.

Florence Mae Hobson James

Florence Mae Hobson James, 84, of Victoria, died June 12, 2007 at Baptist Memphis. She was the widow of Joseph Craig James.

Services were held at 12 noon on June 15 at First Southern Baptist Church, where she was a member. Burial was in National Cemetery in Memphis. Bro. James Wolfe officiated. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves three sons, Charles A. James of Anaheim, Calif., Joseph A. James of Victoria, Bruce Bickerstaff of Bartlett, Tenn.; three daughters, Yvonne A. Martin of Godwin, N.C., Joyce Shook of Tupelo, Kathy Bickerstaff of Bartlett, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ellen Ann Bickerstaff; and a grandson, Charles Robert James.

Rufus B. Miller

Rufus B. Miller, 78, of Holly Springs, died June 13, 2007 at Alliance HealthCare. He was the widower of Margaret Jenkins Miller. He was a Baptist, a mechanic, a Mason, a Marine and an Air Force veteran.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on June 16 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Lamar Union Cemetery.

He leaves two sons, John Miller of Belleville, Ill., Scott Miller of Falkner; a daughter, Ruthann Myers of Potts Camp; a brother, Billy Wayne Miller of Arlington, Tenn.; a sister, Mary Alice Stapp of Tucson, Az.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Stella Shumpert Morgan

Stella Shumpert Morgan, 95, of Oxford, died June 15, 2007 at Graceland Care Center in Oxford. She was the widow of Andrew (Butch) Morgan. She was a native of Itawamba County. She was a former member of Burns U.M. Church. She and her husband owned and operated Butch’s Café.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on June 21 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Fulton. Burial was in the church cemetery. Hodges Funeral Home in Oxford was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves a daughter, Diane Buford of Oxford; a step-daughter, Louise Porter Scott of Holly Springs; a sister, Ozell Chatman of Detroit, Mich.; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.
