Mildred Irene Irwin
Mildred Irene Irwin, age 88, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2011 at the Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow, Montana.
Mildred ws the 4th child of Albert and Minnie (Pearson) Schakosky. She was born February 1, 1923 on her grandparents homestead in rural New Effington, South Dakota. She was baptized in the Lutheran Church that same year. Her mother Minnie was of Swedish descent and her father Albert was a Russian immigrant naturalized before she was born.

Mildred was raised on the family homestead 6 miles northwest of Nashua, Montana and attended the Big Four School that was built by her father and three other neighbors. She family moved to Glasgow in 1943. She lived in her house at 5th Ave. North with husband Louis Irwin Sr. After his passing she moved into Nemont Manor in June of 1993. She was a homemaker who loved being surrounded children, her family and those from the neighborhood. Mildren was a Bingo extraordinaire.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Louis, daughters Shirley Anne, Anna Louise, a son Earl James, four brothers; Melvin, Roy, Reuben and Earl Schakosky, and a niece Anna Mae Schakosky.

Survivors include her children John Beck of Glasgow, Laura (Kim) Straight of Thorne Bay, Alaska, Albert (Evangeline) Irwin of Minot, North Dakota, Linda (Charlie) Eagler of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Robert (Sally) Irwin of Glasgow, 8 grandchildren; Pat (Kristen) Maag of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Alisa Irwin Lebsock of Kearney, Nebraska, Rebecca Braswell of Fort Meade, Florida, Sharon (Rich) Stenson of Bartow, Florida, Larissa VanSetten of Seatttle, Washington, Kyle VanSletten of Great Falls, Montana, Rainbow Straight of Potlatch, Idaho, and Charlie Ann Straight of Thorne Bay, Alaska, 17 great-grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter, two sisters; Agnes Graves of Charlotte, Michigan and Alice Mosser of Slaton, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Blanche Carrie Kittlteson
Blanche Carrie Kittleson, 84 of the Glasgow South Bench passed away on February 25, 2012 at Valley View Nursing Home in Glasgow.
Blanche "Auntie Banny" was born in Brown County Minnesota on March 3, 1927. She was the daughter of Herbert and Elizabeth "Lizzy" Fullerton and was one of 13 kids on the family farm. The family moved to Valley County when Blanche was a young child. She shared the family milking duties each morning and helped her father to deliver milk into New Deal, Wheeler and other dam towns before heading off to the Center School. While attending high school Blanche was a nurses aid at the hospital where she resided while attending high school. Blanche graduated from Glasgow High School and married her sweetheart, Dorval Kittleson the day after graduation on May 26, 1945.

Blanche and her husband Dorval raised 6 kids and many crops on numerous places on the South Bench. They set down their final roots when the purchased the Palmer Dascher farm in 1961, just 8 miles south of Glasgow.

Blanche enjoyed gardening, baking, quilting and visiting with neighbors and friends. She was a long time member of the Dorcas Circle at the First United Methodist Church. She was well known for her homemade pull-apart bread at the local farmers market, as well as pickles and other garden vegetables. Her favorite times were with her family! She is survived by her husband Dorval of 66 years and their children Dianna (Robert) Golimowski of Glasgow, Rocky (Colleen) Kittleson of Glasgow, Karla Frye-McGill of Wolf Point, Clay (Holly) Kittleson of Fort Peck and Darin (Anne) Kittleson of Great Falls. She had 21 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Blanche is also survived by siblings Arnetta "Pete" Braaten of Wolf Point and Harold "Gub" Fullerton of Missoula. Blanche was preceded in death by her son Michael Kittleson and her grandsons Bradley and Brian Frye.

Deborah Ann MacDonald
Monday, February 20th 2012

Deborah Ann Macdonald, age 59, of Nashua, MT passed away Thursday, February 16, 2012 at the St. Vincent Hospital in Billings, MT from Lou Gehrig’s disease (ALS).
Deborah was born on November 19, 1952 in Glasgow, MT, the daughter of John and Jeane (Kjensrud) Macdonald. She graduated from Poplar High school in 1971 and received her bachelor’s degree from Washington State University. She was employed for 20 years with the Indian Health Service. Deborah was baptized into the Lutheran Church and confirmed her faith. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her parents, John and Jeane Macdonald of Nashua, MT; son, Charles (Stephanie) Marottek of Wiliston, ND; daughter, Tennille (Jay) Brown of Trenton, ND; sisters, Roberta Debyshire of Great Falls, MT, and Val (Doug) Grimes of Glasgow, MT; grandchildren, Jessica, Charlie, JaiMarie, Jordan, Hope, Alex, Anthony, and Emily; nieces, Kristie Grimes of Eugene, OR and Yvonne Debyshire of Great Falls, MT; nephew, John (Esther) Grimes of Nashua, MT; and best friends, Linda Blue of Belcourt, ND and Tom Rutledge of St. John, ND.

Deborah is preceded in death by her grandparents, John Macdonald Sr., Viola Thompson, George and Hilda Kjensrud; and infant granddaughter, Amanda Marottek.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 21 at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. Inurnment will be held at a later date.

Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Stanley D. Rorvik, age 77, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2012 at his home in Fife, Washington.

Stanley was born on October 3, 1934 in Scobey, Montana, the son of Alf and Emma (Kasseth) Rorvik. He graduated from high school in Glasgow in 1953 and enlisted in the service where he spent most of his time in Europe. Stanley married Gladys Mustad and they were later divorced. He worked for MDU and the Glasgow Air Force Base, and then for Civil Service for many years in the utilities industry. Stanley attended a junior college in Lancaster, California and then worked over seas for many years, serving in Saudia Arabia, Alaska, Johnston Island southwest of Hawaii, and Thailand. He was a very hard worker.

He was preceded in death by his parents Alf and Emma and a brother Allan Rorvik.

Survivors include his sons Stanley Rorvik Jr. of Fife, Washington and Michael R. (Nicki) Rorvik of Albany, NY, daughters Dana (Brad) Bean of Redmond, WA, Germaine (Jeff) Sather of Wax Haw, North Carolina, and Jill (Dan) McMillan of Woodinville, WA, and a sister Judy Saindon of Glasgow, Montana.

Ervin Boehm
Ervin Boehm, age 95, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at his home in Glasgow, Montana.

Ervin was born on December 8, 1917 in St. Cloud, Minnesota, the son of Frank and Mary (Thomas) Lighthizer. He moved to Montana at age 7 and was raised and attended schools near Glentana.

Ervin married Viola “Vi” Harr in August of 1938. They lived on their farm south of Glasgow until moving into Glasgow in 1971. He farmed until 1980 and in retirement was still very active with the farm. Ervin also had worked on the Fort Peck Dam Project from 1933 to 1948 before he started farming. He enjoyed gardening, and at one time had 200 laying chickens. He also enjoyed telling stories and playing cards, especially pinochle. He liked watching television, and playing and watching baseball.

His wife preceded him in death on January 6, 2000 and also his daughter Terry Lynn Lighthizer.

Survivors include his son-in-law Terence Lighthizer of Glasgow and seven grandchildren including Tyane Lighthizer of Glasgow, and numerous great grandchildren.

Dolores Rosalia Laumeyer Brabeck

Dolores Rosalia Laumeyer Brabeck, 86, passed away at home on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, after a courageous four-year battle with cancer.

Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in St. Paul.

Interment will be in Fort Snelling Cemetery, St. Paul, Minn.

The wake will be held at O’Halloran and Murphy Funeral Home on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012.

She was born Dec 21, 1925, to Joseph A. and Rose C. Wagner Laumeyer

She attended school in Nashua, graduating in 1944. After high school she worked in Fort Peck. While visiting her Aunt Margaret Wagner in St. Joseph, Minn. she took a job at Sal’s Café. She later moved to St. Paul where she was employed part time as a nanny for the Sterm family and Mutual Insurance Co. She worked for 20 years at the Ebenezer Retirement Home before retiring at age 72.

Dolores met her husband, Richard Brabeck, at Merriam Park in St. Paul while he was playing horseshoes. He later proposed to her in that park. They were married in St. Paul on Dec. 2 1950.

Her husband died in March of 1967. After his death, she had the monumental task of raising seven children ages six to fifteen.

She held her family together with her faith, stubborn tenacity of right and wrong, and her strong values. She always expressed how very proud she was of all of her children and grandchildren. She loved her family and supported each without exception.

She was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church in St. Paul, and served her parish as a Eucharist Minister, Funeral reception server, and her beloved bi-annual parish rummage sales.

The Nashua All-School Reunion was important to her and she was known to be the very first one to respond to the invitation to attend.

She enjoyed working in her yard, raising a garden, spending time at her son’s cabin, and word search puzzles.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Richard in 1967; her parents, Joseph in 1990, Rose in 1997, and her brother, Lawrence in 1996.

Survivors include her seven children: Joseph and his wife Patti of Wisconsin; Mark his wife Kristie of Glasgow, Montana; Susan and her husband John Tomoso of Hawaii; Leo and his wife Becky of Minnesota; Charles of Billings, Montana; Gerald of Nashua, Montana; Donald and his wife Pam of Minnesota; 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Francis Laumeyer and his wife Sandy of Nashua, Mont., and Robert Laumeyer and his wife Kathleen of Boulder, Mont.

Dolores is now waltzing across Heaven with her beloved husband.
