Mr. Lessie Lee Morrow
BURLINGTON - Mr. Lessie Lee Morrow, 66, of 608 Center Ave., Apt. E, died Saturday, July 11, 1998, at Vencor Hospital in Greensboro after a long illness.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Lula M. Morrow, who survives, and the son of Mr. Boat Morrow and Mrs. Beula Harvey Morrow, both deceased. He was a self-employed service worker. He was of the Holiness faith.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include three daughters, Mrs. Peggy C. Desrosiers and Ms. Gloria Morrow, both of Burlington, and Mrs. Emma King of Graham; four sons, Mr. Ronnie Morrow of Saxapahaw, Mr. Kenny Morrow of Graham, Mr. David Morrow of Pleasant Grove and Mr. Johnny Morrow of the home; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Snipes of Saxapahaw; two brothers, Mr. Robert Morrow and Mr. Henry Morrow, both of Graham; 26 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday at Farrington-Morrow cemetery in the Saxapahaw Community by the Rev. David A. Smith.
There will be no visitation. The family will be at the home.

Mrs. Eleanor Massey
YANCEYVILLE - Mrs. Eleanor Walker Massey, 74, of 9380 N.C. 62 South, died at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 1998, at Duke University Medical Center in Durham after six weeks of failing health, one week critical.
A native of Caswell County, she was the wife of Mr. Monroe H. Massey, and the daughter of Mr. Walter Jones Walker and Mrs. Maggie Enoch Walker, both deceased. She attended Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors other than her husband of the home include a son, Mr. Lynn W. Massey of Burlington; a brother, Mr. Lawrence Walker of Yanceyville; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Mr. Phillip M. Massey, and three brothers, Mr. Wallace Walker, Mr. Raleigh Walker and Mr. Harvey Walker.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church by Elder Wallis Smith, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Bush Arbor Memorial Fund, c/o Mr. D.O. Chandler Jr., 900 Oakview Loop Road, Yanceyville, N.C. 27379.

Mr. Earl Hollister
CAROLINA BEACH - Mr. Earl "Nate" Hollister, 51, of Carolina Beach, formerly of Burlington, died Sunday, July 12, 1998, at Reed City Hospital.
Born Oct. 17, 1946, in Findlay, Ohio, he was the son of Mr. Dwight E. Hollister Sr., and Mrs. Esther E. Beck Hollister, both deceased. He was a 1964 graduate of Morley-Stanwood High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, where he earned various medals including two Purple Hearts. Following the service, he was employed by U.S. Forest Service in Baldwin, Mich. He later moved to North Carolina, where he owned and operated the Shipwreck Lounge in Carolina Beach. He lived in Carolina Beach for the past 10 years, where he was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion Post. No. 263 and the Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include two sons, Mr. Earl Nathan Hollister Jr. and Mr. Reid Robert Hollister, both of North Carolina; and a brother, Mr. Corky Hollister of Stanwood, Mich.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids, Mich., by the Rev. Philip Bongard. The V.F.W. Post No. 4102 in Rogers Heights will conduct military rites. Burial will be in Arlington National cemetery in Washington, D.C.
Memorials may be made to the D.A.V. Post No. 18 of Big Rapids or to a local D.A.V. chapter.

Mrs. Esther B. Neese
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Esther Black Neese, 98, a longtime resident of Graham, died at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 1998, at White Oak Manor, after several years of failing health. She was formerly of 1929 Nottingham Lane.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Murphy Roy Neese, and the daughter of Mr. John Thomas Black and Mrs. Emily Shoffner Black, both deceased. She was a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy. She was a lifelong member of Graham Presbyterian Church and was the oldest living member.
Survivors include three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Mr. J.T. Neese, a daughter, Ms. Emily Neese Baylor, and a brother, Mr. Robert Byrd Black.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Alamance Memorial Park by the Rev. Lou East, associate pastor of Graham Presbyterian Church.
The family will be at 1929 Nottingham Lane, Burlington.
Rich and Thompson Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Albert Dailey Jr.
DURHAM - Mr. Albert Forrest Dailey Jr., 55, a longtime resident of Wilson Street, died Tuesday evening, July 14, 1998, at his home.
A native of Durham, he was the son of Mr. Albert Forrest Dailey and Mrs. Margaret Noell Dailey, both deceased. A graduate of Durham High School, he received an associate's degree in mechanical engineering from Durham Technical College. He founded Triangle Instruments Co., specializing in scientific instrument maintenance and supply. He was active in the Watts Hospital-Hillandale Neighborhood Association.
Survivors include a daughter, Ms. Amanda LeAnn Dailey of Olympia, Wash.; and a sister, Ms. Jeanette D. Horton of Snow Camp.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Hall-Wynne Chapel by the Rev. Allan Poole and Dr. Stan Smith. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Triangle Hospice, 1804 Martin Luther King Parkway, Suite 112, Durham, N.C. 27707; or to Duke Brain Tumor Research Center, attention: Dr. Darryl Bigner, Box 3156, Duke University Medical Center, Durham, N.C. 27710.

Mrs. Anne H. Beck
GRAHAM - Mrs. Anne Helen Beck, 76, of 613 Monroe Holt Road, died Tuesday, July 14, 1998, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
A native of New Jersey, she was the wife of the late Mr. Robert Earl Beck, and the daughter of Mr. Nicholas Niosi and Mrs. Isabella Niosi, both deceased. She was employed by Hardees of Graham.
Survivors include two daughters, Ms. Gail Beck of Graham and Mrs. Robin B. Nelson of Forsyth, Ga.; three sisters, Mrs. Rose Kerns of New Milford, Pa., and Mrs. Francis Nemeckay of Bloomfield, N.J., and Mrs. Vera Frazzano of Kissimmee, Fla.; a brother, Mr. Philip Niosi of Totowa, N.J.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ms. Lena Stanton and Ms. Mary Proto; and three brothers, Mr. Nicholas Niosi, Mr. Anthony Niosi and Mr. Louis Niosi.
A private memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
McClure Funeral Serivce of Graham is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. William S. Holt
SNOW CAMP - Mr. William S. “Bill” Holt, 67, of 8208 N.C. 49 South, died at 3:28 a.m. Wednesday, March 17, 1999, after a critical illness of two weeks.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of the late Mrs. Alvenia Garner Holt and the son of Mr. Marvin L. Holt and Mrs. Mamie Alston Holt, both deceased. He was a member of Springdale AME Church, where he served with the Board of Stewards, the Men’s Fellowship, the Male Chorus and the Senior Choir. He was a member of Augustus Lodge No. 642, Prince Hall Affiliate; a member of the James T. Diggs Consistory No. 308; and El Jebel Temple No. 97 Shriners. He was a volunteer worker with Alamance Regional Medical Center and Alamance-Caswell Hospice and was a member of the advisory committee on Cancer Coordination and Control. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Preston (Earlene) Thaxton and Mrs. Dwight (Darlene) Faucette, both of Burlington; two sons, Mr. William S. Holt Jr. of Greensboro and Mr. Charles E. Holt of Burlington; three sisters, Mrs. Helen H. Evans, Mrs. Jeanette H. Hunter and Mrs. Glenda H. Vinson, all of Burlington; two brothers, the Rev. William J. Holt and Mr. Marvin S. Holt, both of Burlington; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Mary H. Patterson, and a brother, Mr. Walter K. Holt.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday at Springdale AME Church by the Rev. Saundra L. Bullock, pastor. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Burial will be in Rock Creek AME Church Cemetery.
The family will be at the church one hour before the service and at other times at the home.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, P.O. Box 2122, Burlington, N.C. 27216-2122; or to the Building Fund of Springdale AME Church, Burlington.

Mrs. Kay H. Hicks
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Kay Hill Hicks, 57, of 2306 Melrose Drive, died at 1:22 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, 1999, at her home after a long illness.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Mr. Waltzie Leroy Hicks Sr., who survives, and the daughter of Mr. Jack Henry Hill and Mrs. Hallie Beatrice Ward Hill, both deceased. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Survivors other than her husband of the home include five daughters, Mrs. Hezekiah (Cheryl) Scott, Ms. Lee H. McAdams and Ms. Donna Leach, all of Burlington, and Mrs. Kevin (Wendy) Poole and Ms. Theresa Perry, both of Elon College; two sons, Mr. Waltzie Leroy Hicks Jr. and Mr. Roy Leonard Perry Jr., both of Burlington; a stepson, Mr. Del Hicks of Elon College; two sisters, Mrs. Mike (Judy) Wall of Burlington and Mrs. Curtis Wayne (Jackie) Holland of Elon College; a brother, Mr. Ronald Lee “Cotton” Hill of Burlington; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Mr. Waltzie Leroy Hicks Jr.; a brother, Mr. Donald Wayne Hill Sr.; and stepmother, Mrs. Lillian Wicker Hill.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Dwight Dameron, pastor of Faith Baptist Church. Burial will be in Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery.
The family will be at Lowe Funeral Home from 7 to 9 this evening, and at other times at the home.

Mrs. Mary C. Murphy
GRAHAM - Mrs. Mary Crowder Murphy, 65, of 3905 Mt. Hermon-Rock Creek Road, died at 12:10 a.m. Wednesday, March 17, 1999, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill after six years of failing health, six weeks critical.
A native of Wythe County, Va., she was the wife of Mr. T. Leon Murphy, who survives, and the daughter of Mr. James Matthew Crowder and Mrs. Emer Graham Crowder, both deceased. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Survivors other than her husband of the home include a daughter, Mrs. Elva “Sue” Holt of Burlington; two sons, Mr. Wade Murphy of Alamance and Mr. Frank Murphy of Burlington; five sisters, Miss Willie Crowder and Mrs. Nancy Ann Whitfield, both of Mebane, Mrs. Jane Williamson of Graham, Mrs. Jean Wilson of Gibsonville and Mrs. Helen Thomas of Floyd, Va.; a brother, the Rev. Rick Crowder of Burlington; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Gracie Hardy and Mrs. Ruby Ayers, and two infant brothers.
The service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the mausoleum at Alamance Memorial Park by the Rev. Terry Pritchard, pastor of Eastlawn Baptist Church.
The family will be at Rich and Thompson Funeral Home in Graham from 7 to 9 this evening and at other times at the home.

Miss Jennie L. Barham
BURLINGTON - Miss Jennie Lee Barham, 75, of 119 Carolina Ave., died at 12:02 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 1999, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill after a long illness, three weeks critical.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of Mr. Robert Lee Barham and Mrs. Elsie Johnston Barham, both deceased. She was retired from Western Electric and was a 1942 graduate of Burlington High School. She was a member and past historian of the Democratic Women of Alamance County and a member of Senior Democrats of Alamance County. She was a member of First Christian United Church of Christ.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at Pine Hill cemetery by Dr. Robert K. Barrows, pastor of First Christian United Church of Christ.
Memorials may be made to First Christian United Church of Christ, 415 S. Church St., Burlington, N.C. 27215.

Mrs. Hazel B. Barringer
GIBSONVILLE - Mrs. Hazel Brown Barringer, 54, of 1208 Lashley Park Drive, died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, at her home after several months of failing health.
