Mr. Charlie Rogers Sr.
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Mr. Charlie D. Rogers Sr., formerly of Graham, died Friday, July 2, 1999, at Fort Washington Hospital in Fort Washington, Md.
He was the husband of the late Mrs. Ories Headen and the late Mrs. Eva Warren.
Survivors include a son, Mr. Charlie D. Rogers Jr.; two daughters, Ms. Ginger Andrews and Ms. Faye Day; and many grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ms. Geraldine Rogers. The funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday at Wayman Chapel AME Church in Graham by the Rev. Allan E. Warren. Burial will be in Graham Memorial Park.
The family will be at the church one hour before the service.
Dunn and Sons Funeral Service in Washington, D.C. is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lloyd E. Rudd
BURLINGTON - Mr. Lloyd Elmer Rudd, 77, of 1020 Tucker St., died Tuesday, July 6, 1999, at his home after several months of failing health.
McClure Funeral Home in Burlington is in charge of arrangements, which are incomplete.

Mrs. Sally P. Reagan
YANCEYVILLE - Mrs. Sally Pyron Reagan, 90, formerly of Wall Street, died Wednesday, July 7, 1999, at Riverside Health Care Center in Danville, Va., after a long illness.
Born March 20, 1909, in Pittsylvania County, Va., she was the wife of Mr. Robert Glenn Reagan Sr., who died in 1992, and the daughter of Mr. Robert Lee Pyron and Mrs. Nannie Bet Mchon Pyron. She retired from Pope Stores after managing for 45 years. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church of Yanceyville.
Survivors include a daughter, Ms. Margaret R. Lunsford of Danville; a son, Mr. Robert Glenn Reagan Jr. of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; four sisters, Ms. Alma Meadows and Ms. Lucille Reese, both of Danville, Ms. Lillie Webb of Colorado and Ms. Ella Spalink of Arizona; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday at Yanceyville United Methodist Church cemetery by the Rev. Vassar Jones.
The family will be at Marley Funeral Home in Yanceyville from 7 to 8:30 this evening and at other times at the home of the daughter, 443 S. Woodberry Ave., Danville.

Mrs. Arzie S. Routh
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Arzie Schrum Routh, 86, of 2329 N. Church St., died Tuesday, July 6, 1999.
A native of Cleveland County, she was the wife of Mr. Frank Boyd Routh, who survives, and the daughter of Mr. Jacob Z. Schrum and Mrs. Elizabeth Smith Schrum, both deceased. She was owner and operator of Routh’s Antiques in Greensboro for more than 21 years. She was a member of Davis Street United Methodist Church.
Survivors other than her husband of the home include a daughter, Mrs. Glenn (Donna) Carter of Greensboro; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will be at the home. There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, P.O. Box 2122, Burlington, N.C. 27216-2122.

Mr. Seth J. Garrison
EFLAND - Mr. Seth Jerome Garrison, 19, of 5314 Chestnut Ridge Church Road, died Monday, July 5, 1999, at Spring Lake.
A native of Alamance County, he was the son of Mr. Alan Garrison and Mrs. Brenda Howard Garrison. He was a construction worker.
Survivors other than his mother of the home and father of Port Richey, Fla., include three brothers, Mr. Adam Garrison of Burlington and Mr. Aaron Garrison and Mr. Eric Flynn, both of Efland; and paternal grandparents, Mr. Alan Garrison and Mrs. Ruth Garrison of Port Richey.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Cane Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane from 7 to 9 this evening and at other times at the home.

Mrs. Gracie R. Johnson
MEBANE - Mrs. Gracie R. Johnson, 63, of 126 Allen Bane Road, died at 4:44 a.m. Sunday, July 11, 1999, at her home after a short illness.
A native of Orange County, she was the wife of Mr. Joe Johnson Sr., who survives, and the daughter of Mr. John W. Riley and Ms. Minervia Cousins, both deceased. She was a seamstress at Kingsdown and was a member of Hunter’s Chapel AME Church, where she was president of the Usher Board and a class leader. She was a member of Eastern Star’s Mebane Chapter No. 588 (past matron), El Jebel Court No. 48, Daughters of Isis (past commandress), James T. Diggs Assembly No. 308 and Order of the Golden Circle (past lawyer lady).
Survivors other than her husband of the home include two sons, Mr. Joe L. Johnson Jr. and Mr. Tracey L. Johnson, both of Mebane; two sisters, Ms. Mary Johnson and Ms. Martha Swainn, both of Mebane; three brothers, Mr. Charley Riley of High Point, Mr. Henry Riley and Mr. Vernon Riley, both of Mebane; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hunter’s Chapel AME Church by the Rev. Shelton Miles. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at Blackwell Funeral Home from 7 to 8 this evening.

Miss Mary N. Wilson
HILLSBOROUGH - Miss Mary Norva Wilson, 90, formerly of 2005 Little River Church Road, Hurdle Mills, died Tuesday, July 13, 1999, at the Presbyterian Home of Hawfields.
A native of Orange County, she was a life member of Walnut Grove United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Barnette W. Smith of Burlington.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Walker’s Funeral Home Chapel in Hillsborough by the Rev. Mike Sykes. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 this evening.
Memorials may be made to the Walnut Grove United Methodist Church building fund.

Mr. Gordon Allred
BURLINGTON - Mr. James Gordon Allred, 82, of 2370 Stone St. Ext., Mebane, died Tuesday, July 13, 1999, at his home.

Mrs. Verona Campbell
YANCEYVILLE - Mrs. Verona Edwards Campbell, 85, of 54 Rudd Ridge Road, died Tuesday, July 13, 1999, at her home after several years of failing health.
Born March 16, 1914, in Caswell County, she was the wife of Mr. Jim Henry Campbell, who died July 9, 1999, and the daughter of Mr. Charlie C. Edwards and Mrs. Rosa Gooch Edwards, both deceased. She was a homemaker and was a member of Oakview Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Ms. Geneva Ann Byrd and Ms. Lavern Rascoe, both of Burlington, Ms. Marie Hardee of Chapel Hill and Ms. Cathy Webster of Yanceyville; three sons, Mr. Dewey Campbell of Burlington, Mr. Jimmy Campbell of Reidsville and Mr. Donnie Campbell of Elon College; a sister, Ms. Hattie Campbell of Yanceyville; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Oakview Presbyterian Church by Mr. Bob Hillman. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at Hooper Funeral Home from 7 to 9 this evening and at other times at the home.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, P.O. Box 2122, Burlington, N.C. 27216-2122; to the Anderson Fire Department; or the Southern Caswell Ruritan Club.

Mrs. Nina W. Hargrove
GRAHAM - Mrs. Nina Wells Hargrove, 87, formerly of Bellemont-Alamance Road, Burlington, died at 12:15 p.m. Monday, July 12, 1999, at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Fla., after eight years of failing health, three weeks critical.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Robert N. Hargrove and the daughter of Mr. Henry Clay Wells and Mrs. Bessie Duncan Wells, both deceased. She was a retired office clerk for Kayser-Roth Hosiery in Alamance. She was a member of Cane Creek Friends Meeting.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Betty H. Wells of Palmetto, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Euliss of Liberty and Mrs. Brona Zachary of Graham; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Mr. Stafford Wells and Mr. Duncan Wells, and a sister, Ms. Lottie Wells.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Plainfields Friends Meeting in Chatham County by Pastor Ken Thames, Pastor Pat Thames and the Rev. Larry McEntire. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in the meeting house cemetery.
The family will be at Rich and Thompson Funeral Home in Graham from 5 to 7 Thursday evening.

BURLINGTON - Mrs. Hilda Richmond Lea of 2457 Altamahaw-Union Ridge Road, died Tuesday, July 13, 1999, at her home.
Fulton Funeral Home of Yanceyville is in charge of arrangements which are incomplete.

Mr. Edward Thompson
BROWNS SUMMIT - Mr. Edward Thompson of 5715 Porterfield Road, died Sunday, July 11, 1999, at his home.
He was the husband of Mrs. Deloris Rankin Thompson, who survives.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include three daughters, Ms. Betty Thompson of Browns Summit, Ms. Louise Milton of Greensboro and Ms. Debra Harris of McLeansville; four brothers, Mr. Pink Thompson and Mr. Carl Thompson, both of Browns Summit, Mr. Leo Thompson of Reidsville and Mr. Willie Thompson of California; three sisters, Ms. Betty Stephens and Ms. Aileen Williams, both of Greensboro, and Ms. Dorothy Richardson of Browns Summit; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Mr. Richard Thompson.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday at Locust Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at the church from 7 to 8 this evening and at other times at the home.
Memorials may be made to the Locust Grove Scholarship Fund.
Woodard Funeral Home in Greensboro is in charge of arrangements.
