Mrs. Phyllis H. Neal

GRAHAM - Mrs. Phyllis Kay Hanks Neal, 49, of 2414 Greensboro-Chapel Hill Road, died at 3:20 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, 1998, at her home after an illness of six years.

A native of Danville, Va., she was the wife of Mr. Johnny Neville Neal, who survives, and the daughter of Mr. Freddie Hanks and Mrs. Virginia Crider Hanks, both deceased. She was a homemaker and a member of Moore's Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors other than her husband of the home include two daughters, Mrs. Sandra K. Thornton of Graham and Mrs. Sherry Ann Riley of Mebane; a son, Mr. Johnny Edward Neal of Haw River; three brothers, Mr. Frank Hanks of Burlington, Mr. James Jackson Hanks of Gibsonville and Mr. Thomas Norman 'Pete' Hanks of Saxapahaw; and six grandchildren.

McClure Funeral Home in Graham is in charge of arrangements which are incomplete.

Ms. Nettie K. Moore

BURLINGTON - Ms. Nettie Lee Katrine Moore, 46, of 412 Hall Ave., died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998, at her home after a long illness.

A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of Mr. Joe Lee Moore and Mrs. Nettie Lee Hooker Moore, both deceased. She was a librarian at May Memorial and North Park libraries. She was a member of Stoney Creek AME Church, where she was a member of the Missionary Society, the Senior Choir and the Deka-T's. She was a member of the Mom-to-Mom, Class of 1969, NAACP and the Martin Luther King Coalition.

Survivors include a son, Mr. Joseph Lamont Moore of Burlington; two brothers, Mr. William Wesley 'J.C.' Moore of Eden and Mr. Paul M. Moore of Graham; and a sister, Mrs. Geneva Garrison of Elon College.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Stoney Creek AME Church by the Rev. James Swain, pastor, and the Rev. Willie Sellars. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will be at Sharpe Memorial Chapel from 7 to 8 this evening, and at other times at the home.

Mr. Everett G. Mogle

BURLINGTON - Mr. Everett Guthrie Mogle, 54, of 2704 Delaney Drive, died at 8:23 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Paula Whitesell Mogle, who survives, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. E.R. Mogle, who survive. He was a graduate of the Realtors Institute. He was an instructor at Al/-a/-mance Community College. He was the president of Everett G. Mogle and Co. and held real-estate seminars in this area. He was a member of Concord United Methodist Church.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Concord United Methodist Church by the Rev. Jeanne Neal, pastor, and Dr. Guy Soule, pastor of Shiloh United Methodist Church. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will be the home.

Memorials may be made to the Everett Mogle Memorial Scholarship Fund, Alamance Community College, P.O. Box 8000, Graham, N. C. 27253-8000.

Mrs. Narva S. Isley

BURLINGTON - Mrs. Narva Stinson Isley, 87, of White Oak Manor, died at 7:55 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a year of failing health, one day critical. She was a former resident of the Friendship Community.

A native of Schofield, Va., she was the wife of the late Mr. Fleet Worth Isley, and the daughter of Mr. Floyd Winford Stinson and Mrs. Leona Allred Stinson, both deceased. She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Philathea Sunday School Class.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Joyce I. Allen of Gibsonville; two sons, Mr. Lynn Isley and Mr. Michael Isley, both of Burlington; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Mr. Jerry Douglas Isley and Mr. Larry Lee Isley; a sister, Mrs. Ruth S. Cooley; and three brothers, Mr. Glenn Stinson, Mr. Winfred L. 'Wink' Stinson and Mr. Fred M. Stinson.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Friendship United Methodist Church by the Rev. Alvin W. Horne, pastor. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will be at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 this evening, and at other time at the home of a son, Mr. Michael Isley, 4515 Fleet Isley Trail, Burlington.

Memorials may be made to Friendship United Methodist Church, 4612 Friendship-Patterson Mill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215; or to the Friendship Outreach Fund in care of the church.

Mrs. Jewel M. Fogleman

HAW RIVER - Mrs. Jewel Murray Fogleman, 91, of 306 Lang Court, died at 5:13 a.m. Friday, Feb. 13, 1998, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro after a critical illness of one day.

A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Walter Parker Fogleman, and the daughter of Mr. William Leach Murray and Mrs. Sarah Garrett Murray, both deceased. She was retired from Grabur Mills and was a member of Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church.

Survivors include seven daughters, Mrs. Charleen Garner and Mrs. Maxine Harris, both of Burlington, Mrs. Peggy Stockard of Graham, Ms. Faye Neese of Haw River, Mrs. Nancy Lambert of Huntsville, Ala., Mrs. Mary Jeanette Satterfield of New Bern and Mrs. Sue Sykes of North Augusta, S.C.; two sons, Mr. Bill Fogleman of Haw River and the Rev. Al Fogleman of Culpeper, Va.; a sister, Mrs. Nellie Shoe of Burlington; 27 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Mr. Odis P. Fogleman.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Burlington by the Rev. Joyce E. Taipale, pastor, and the Rev. Al Fogleman, pastor of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Culpeper, Va. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church cemetery.

The family will be at the Rich and Thompson Funeral Home in Graham from 7 to 9 this evening.

Mr. Roy V. Boggs

GRAHAM - Mr. Roy Vance Boggs, 78, of 5447 Boggs Trail, died at 12:40 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, 1998, at the Skilled Nursing Division of Alamance Regional Medical Center after three years of failing health, four days critical.

A native of Forsyth County, he was the husband of Mrs. Margaret Marie Phillips Boggs, who survives, and the son of Mr. Columbus Boggs and Mrs. Nelia Ross Boggs, both deceased. He was a retired employee of Ronnie Kirkpatrick, and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

Survivors other than his wife of the home include two daughters, Ms. Nancy F. Boggs and Mrs. Edna 'Cookie' Modlin, both of Graham; one son, Mr. Arnold R. Boggs of Burlington; four sisters, Mrs. Annie Armstrong of Mebane, Mrs. Jean Williams of Graham, Mrs. Katie Bowden and Mrs. Virginia Terrell, both of Burlington; four brothers, Mr. Howard Boggs and Mr. Fred Boggs, both of Graham, Mr. Clyde Boggs of Mebane and Mr. Joe Boggs of Chapel Hill; six grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and two great-step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Mr. Phillip Michael Boggs, and a sister, Ms. Mary Wilson.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham by the Rev. Steve Loy. Burial will be in Salem United Methodist Church cemetery.

The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 6 to 8 Sunday evening, and at other times at the home.

Mrs. Molene R. Drake

BURLINGTON - Mrs. Vera Molene Ray Drake died at 7:20 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after two years of failing health, two weeks critical.

A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Guy Selman Drake, and the daughter of Mr. William Archie Ray Sr. and Mrs. Minnie Rippy Ray, both deceased. She was a retired cashier with Alamance County Hospital and was a member of Cross Roads Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Nick (Kaye) Collins of Burlington; and a brother, Mr. William A. Ray Jr. of Burlington.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Pine Hill cemetery by the Rev. Allen Huff, pastor of Cross Roads Presbyterian Church.

Memorials may be made to Cross Roads Presbyterian Church, 3302 N.C. 119 North, Mebane, N.C. 27302.

Mr. Russell H. Lawson

SILER CITY - Mr. Russell Henry Lawson, 74, of 2968 Old 421 North, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998, at Chatham Hospital.

A native of Greenville, S.C., he was the husband of Mrs. Sue Herndon Lawson, who survives. He attended Brevard College and retired in 1980 from Kellwood Corp. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II and was a member of Siler City Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder and a former member of the church choir.

Survivors other than his wife include two daughters, Ms. Susan L. Bussey of Atlanta and Ms. Sherri L. Noftsinger of Acworth, Ga.; a sister, Ms. Margaret L. Cochran of Rome, Ga.; and four grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Siler City Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Sam McGregor. Burial will be in Chatham Memorial Park.

The family will be at Smith and Buckner Funeral Home from 6 to 8 this evening.

Mrs. Jean H. Worrell

GRAHAM - Mrs. Jean Harris Worrell, 71, of 515 Wentworth Drive, died at 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998, at the home of her daughter after a year of failing health.

A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Mr. Benjamin Franklin Worrell, who survives, and the daughter of Mr. C.W. Hunter Sr. and Mrs. Ola Ann Cheek Hunter, both deceased. She was the retired owner and operator of Jean's Beauty Shop for more than 32 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Doris Chrismon Sunday School Class.

Survivors other than her husband of the home include two daughters, Mrs. Barry W. (Teresa) Gray of Burlington and Mrs. Roland D. (Angela ) Long of Haw River; three sons, Mr. Mike Harris of Jacksonville and Mr. Wayne Harris and Mr. Eric Harris, both of Caswell County; a sister, Mrs. Jackie Farmer of Graham; three brothers, Mr. C.W. 'Bill' Hunter Jr. of Graham, Mr. Auman Hunter and Mr. Larry Hunter, both of Graham; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Ms. Mescal Councilman.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church of Graham by the Rev. Bob Eldridge, minister of visitation, and the Rev. Paul G. Phillips, senior minister. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.

The family will be at Lowe Funeral Home from 6:30 to 8:30 this evening, and at other times at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Teresa Gray, 131 Hillside Drive, Burlington.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 303 N. Main St., Graham, N.C. 27253; or to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, P.O. Box 2122, Burlington, N.C. 27216-2122.

Mr. Joe T. Rountree

CEDAR GROVE - Mr. Joe Thomas Rountree, 81, of 8705 N.C. 86 North, died Friday, Feb. 13, 1998, at Durham Regional Hospital after a short illness.

A native of Orange County, he was the husband of the late Mrs. Eloise P. Rountree, and the son of Mr. Draughn Rountree and Mrs. Cora Lee Rountree, both deceased. He was a retired farmer and a retired ABC worker. He was affiliated with Rountree Automobile Company. He was a member of the Cedar Grove Ruritan Club and Cedar Grove United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Mike (Annette R.) Taylor of Apex; two sons, Mr. Larry Rountree of Burlington and Mr. Donnie Rountree of Cedar Grove; three sisters, Mrs. Blanche Thomas of Mebane, Mrs. Mary Ballard and Mrs. Margaret Cates, both of Hillsborugh; a brother, Mr. Milton Rountree of Wake Forest; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church by the Rev. Stephen Cheyney and the Rev. Bob Wallace. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will be at Walker's Funeral Home in Mebane from 7 to 9 this evening, and at other times at the home.

Memorial may be made to the Cyrstal Overcash Fund, Hillsborough Savings Bank, 260 S. Churton St., Hillsborough.

Mrs. Louine G. Johnson

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Mrs. Louine G. 'Lou' Johnson, 64, died Friday, Feb. 13, 1998, at Baptist Medical Center.

A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Herman Gale Johnson Sr., and the daughter of Mr. Jesse Arnold Glosson and Mrs. Delphy Lewis Glosson, both deceased. She was a member of Killian Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choir, the Golden Rule Sunday School Class, the Ladies Morning Circle and the Killian Baptist Church Walking Group. She was a member of the Young At Heart Senior Citizens Group.

Survivors include a daughter, Ms. Treva Mardis of Bishopville, S.C.; a son, Mr. H.G. 'Red' Johnson of Elgin, S.C.; a sister, Ms. Hilda McBane of Pittsboro; and three grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Killian Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service.

The family will be at Talbert-Shives Funeral Home from 6 to 8 this evening.

Memorials may be to Killian Baptist church and Hospice at Baptist Medical Center.
