Mr. Billy B. Ellington

GRAHAM - Mr. Billy Bowman Ellington, 73, of 9332 N.C. 87 South, died at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, 1998, at North Carolina Memorial Hospital Burn Center in Chapel Hill after an accident at home.

A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Leta Lloyd Ellington who survives, and the son of Mr. David W. Ellington and Mrs. Etta Cheek Ellington, both deceased. He was retired from Southern Bell, and was a member of the Eli Whitney Fire Department, and the Eli Whitney Ruritan Club. He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church where he was a deacon and Sunday school secretary.

Survivors other than his wife of the home include one daughter, Mrs. Gail Thomas of Pittsboro; one son, Mr. Steve Ellington of Graham; one sister, Mrs. Edith E. Morrow of Mebane; two brothers, Mr. Edwin Ellington of Zebulon and Mr. Eugene Ellington of Mebane; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Wilma Hopkins and Mrs. Bernice Lane; and three brothers, Mr. Harvey Ellington, Mr. Harold Ellington and Mr. Paschal Ellington.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Olive Baptist Church by the Rev. Perry Hardison, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 7 to 9 this evening, and at other times at the home.

Mrs. Phyllis H. Neal

GRAHAM - Mrs. Phyllis Kay Hanks Neal, 49, of 2414 Greensboro-Chapel Hill Road, died at 3:20 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, 1998, at her home after six years of failing health.

A native of Danville, Va., she was the wife of Mr. Johnny Neville Neal who survives, and the daughter of Mr. Freddie Hanks and Mrs. Virginia Crider Hanks, both deceased. She was a homemaker and a member of Moore's Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors other than her husband of the home include two daughters, Mrs. Sandra K. Thornton of Graham and Mrs. Sherry Ann Riley of Mebane; one son, Mr. Johnny Edward Neal of Haw River; three brothers, Mr. Frank Hanks of Burlington, Mr. James Jackson Hanks of Gibsonville and Mr. Thomas Norman 'Pete' Hanks of Saxapahaw; and six grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham by the Rev. Jack Ray. Burial will be in Moore's Chapel cemetery.

The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 7 to 9 this evening, and at other times at the home.

Mrs. Ruth J. Yarbrough

McLEANSVILLE - Mrs. Ruth Johnson Yarbrough of McLeansville, died at 11:45 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, 1998, at Wesley Long Community Hospital.

Lowe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements which are incomplete.

Ms. Agnes M. Jones

GRAHAM - Ms. Agnes Elizabeth Manuel Jones, 76, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 1998, at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was a former resident of Wythe County, Va.

A native of Wythe County, she was the wife of Mr. John H. 'Bus' Jones who survives, and the daughter of Mr. John Harvey Manuel and Ms. Annie Quesenberry Manuel, both deceased. She was a member of the Graham's Forge United Methodist Church.

Survivors other than her husband include three daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Hubbard and Mrs. Patsy Jean Hart, both of Graham and Mrs. Sherry Lynn Davis of Randolph, Vt.; one son, Mr. Michael Wayne Jones of Burlington; two sisters, Mrs. Merkey Harmon and Mrs. Peggy Collins, both of Max Meadows, Va.; three brothers, Mr. Paul Manuel of Pulaski, Va., Mr. Kenneth Manuel of Speedwell and Mr. Carl Manuel of Salem, Va.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Mr. James Manuel and Mr. David Manuel.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Graham's Forge United Methodist Church by the Rev. Richard Collins and the Rev. Bill Edmonds. Burial will be in Draper Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church cemetery.

The family will be at Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville from 7 to 9 this evening, and at other times, at the home of the sister, Mrs. Merkey Harmon.

Mr. Marvin Farrish Sr.

HURDLE MILLS - Mr. Marvin Farrish Sr. died Saturday, Feb. 14, 1998, in Durham Regional Hospital.

A native of Person County, he was the husband of Mrs. Clara Tabron Farrish who survives, and the son of Mr. Willie Farrish and Mrs. Fannie Paylor Farrish, both deceased. He was retired from Cone Mills in Burlington, and was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church and Allen Masonic Lodge 676.

Survivors other than his wife of the home include one son, Mr. Marvin Louis Farrish Jr. of Hopewell, Va.; four daughters, Mrs. Clara Pettiford of Los Angeles, Ms. Sherlyn Ann Farrish Barner of Spotsylvania, Va., Ms. Jaqueline Ray of Knightdale and Ms. Audrey Farrish of Linden, N.J.; three sisters, Ms. Annie Farrish Satterfield of Bronx, N.Y., Mrs. Sadie Mitchell of Oxford, and Mrs. Nancy Cameron of Capitol Heights, Md.; one brother, Mr. Langston Farrish of Cedar Grove; and seven grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Union Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. Rufus Johnson. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Chavis-Parker Funeral Home in Hillsborough is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Grace L. Barbee

GIBSONVILLE - Mrs. Grace Littlejohn Barbee, 71, a former resident of Gibsonville, died at 5:15 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, 1998, at Mountainview Care Center in Asheboro after one year of failing health.

A native of Cleveland, N.C., she was the daughter of Mr. Chester Arthur Littlejohn and Mrs. Martha Quinn Littlejohn, both deceased. She was a nurse's aide and a member of East Burlington Church of God.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Brenda Garren of Deaton and Mrs. Colleen Horne of Gibsonville; two sisters, Mrs. Louise Lindsay of Burlington and Mrs. Kathleen Bradshaw of Chickamauga, Ga.; one brother, Mr. Robert Littlejohn of Burlington; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Mr. Ray Allen Barbee; and three brothers, Mr. William Littlejohn, Mr. Felix Littlejohn and Mr. Charlie Littlejohn.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington by the Rev. Jerry Tow, pastor, and Mr. Robert Littlejohn. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.

The family will be at the Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 this evening.

Mrs. Reble C. Pope

BURLINGTON - Mrs. Reble Cayton Pope, 80, of 2335 John Lewis Road, died at 11:45 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, 1998, at 914 Harris St., Burlington after four years of failing health and a critical illness of six weeks.

A native of Reelsboro, she was the wife of the late Mr. L.C. Pope, and the daughter of Mr. Linster J. Cayton and Mrs. Sidney Dunn Cayton, both deceased. She was a former textile worker with Kayser-Roth, and a member of Long's Chapel United Church of Christ.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Kent (Ann) Lasseter of Elon College; one son, Mr. Collins Pope of Burlington; two sisters, Mrs. Lucille Jones of Durham and Mrs. Rachel Pope of Wilson; two brothers, Mr. Howard Cayton and Mr. Ernie Cayton, both of Wilson; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Marie Jackson and Mrs. Mildred Sepe.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington by the Rev. Homer Frye, pastor of Long's Chapel United Church of Christ. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.

The family will be at the Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, and at other times at the home of Mr. Jesse Pope, 914 Harris St., Burlington.

Mr. Robert R. Windsor

DOTHAN, Ala. - Mr. Robert R. Windsor, 88, of 800 Dusy St., died Saturday, Feb. 14, 1998, at his home after a long illness.

He was the husband of the late Mrs. Mabel Milner Windsor and is survived by his second wife, Mrs. Dale Windsor. He was a resident of Dothan for 47 years, and retired in 1974 from Dothan Oil Mill Co. as a general superintendent. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church where he was a deacon and taught the Men's Bible Class for 36 years.

Survivors other than his wife include two daughters, Mrs. Barbara Mixon and Mrs. Glenda Arnold of Destin, Fla.; one son, Mr. Bob Windsor of Defuniak Springs, Fla.; a stepson, Mr. Tom Swicegood of Nashville, Tenn.; five sisters, Ms. Stella Kirkland, Ms. Lois Key, Ms. Dorothy Lane, Ms. Eudell Coburn and Ms. Martha Clark; two brothers, Mr. Gerald Windsor and Mr. Dewey Windsor; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. today at Kent-Thornton Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Jerry Grandstaff and Dr. Sam Braswell. Burial will be in the Webb Cemetery.

Mr. Larry L. Lundy Jr.

REIDSVILLE - Mr. Larry Lee Lundy Jr., 25, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 1998.

He was the husband of Mrs. Linda Lundy, who survives, and the son of Mrs. Teresa Callahan.

Survivors other than his wife and mother include two daughters, Ms. Tiffany Sky Lundy and Ms. Stormy Lee Lundy; one step-daughter, Ms. Mandy Dawne Fogleman; two sisters, Ms. Cynthia Diane Lundy and Ms. Ellen Lynn Lundy; one half-sister, Ms. Pamela Sue Walker; one step-sister, Ms. Melissa Dawn Callahan; and a grandmother, Ms. Helen Wrenn.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Reidsville. Burial will be in Reidlawn cemetery.

The family will be at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Reidsville from 7 to 9 this evening and at other times at 113 Ruth Lane in Reidsville.

Mrs. Erma C. Pittard

PROSPECT HILL - Mrs. Erma Christine Clayton Pittard, 81, of 1873 N.C. 49 North, died at 8:10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, 1998, at her home after an illness of one month.

A native of Person County, she was the wife of Mr. Gilbert Monroe Pittard, who survives , and the daughter of Mr. Baxter Clayton and Mrs. Minnie Watson Clayton, both deceased. She was a homemaker and she sold Rawleigh Products for many years. She belonged to the Home Demonstration Club at Prospect Hill and was a member of Lea Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors other than her husband of the home include a son, Mr. William G. 'Bill' Pittard of Graham; a sister, Mrs. Lucille Fletcher of Burlington; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Lea Bethel Baptist Church by the Rev. Claude Harrelson. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane from 6 to 8 this evening, and at other times at the home.

Mrs. Dorothy P. Stone

KERNERSVILLE - Mrs. Dorothy Phillips Stone, 86, of 500 Salisbury St., died Friday, Feb. 13, 1998, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro.

Born May 4, 1911, in Randolph County, she was the wife of Mr. Charles Arnold Stone, who died Nov. 24, 1992, and the daughter of Mr. Joseph L. Phillips and Mrs. Odessa Craven Phillips, both deceased. She was active in many community projects. She was past president of the PTA at Kernersville Elementary School, and she was one of the founders and a life member and past president of the Kernersville Woman's Club. She was active in community betterment and beautification. She was a member of the first library committee sponsored by the Woman's Club, a member of the organizational committee to form the Kernersville Family Y.M.C.A., and was a member of the Community Action Board to promote recreational programs. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 205 and organized the first Rainbow Girls at the Masonic Lodge. She was an active member of Main Street United Methodist Church, where she was a teacher in the children's department for many years and in the pre-school day program for several years. She was a life member and served as president of the Methodist Women, and she served in other areas of the church.

Survivors include two daughter, Mrs. Diane Taylor of Greensboro and Dr. Virginia Myers of New Bern; two sons, Mr. Charles A. Stone of Bermuda Run and Dr. Ronald W. Stone of Burlington; a sister, Mrs. Mary Jo Durham of Asheboro; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The funeral will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Main Street United Methodist Church by Dr. Floyd Berrier and the Rev. David Cook. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will be at Pierce Funeral Home from 7 to 9 this evening, and at other times at the home.

Memorial may be made to the Building Fund, Main Street United Methodist Church, 306 S. Main St., Kernersville, N.C. 27284.

Mr. Marvin Farrish Sr.

HURDLE MILLS - Mr. Marvin L. Farrish Sr., 66, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 1998, at Durham Regional Hospital.
