Kendall Schoyen
Funeral services for Kendall Schoyen, 82, Lisbon, ND, were held on Friday, May 13, 2005 at the Tollefson Funeral Home, Grafton. Mr. Schoyen died Monday, May 9, 2005 at the Lisbon Hospital, Lisbon.
Hamlyn Kendall Schoyen, son of Hjalmer and Anna (Herfendal) Schoyen was born on December 8, 1922 in Hoople, ND. He graduated from Hoople High School. Following his education he served in the U.S. Army from 1943-1946, serving with the 23rd Tank Battalion of the 12th Armored Division. Following his discharge he attended the Dakota Business College in Fargo. He later moved to California where he worked for the U.S. Postal Service. He retired in 1982 and moved to the Detroit Lakes area. In September of 2004 he moved into the ND Veterans Home, Lisbon.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Lila Schoyen, Fordville, ND a niece and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Everett.
Military rites provided by the Hoople American Legion.
Interment at Hoople City Cemetery, Hoople.
Tollefson Funeral Home, Grafton, ND, was in charge of arrangements.

Lil Louden
Funeral services for Lil Louden, 86, Lisbon, ND, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 1, 2005 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lisbon, Reverend David Killeen and Reverend Norman Anderson officiating. Mrs. Louden died Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at Parkside Nursing Home, Lisbon.
Lil Louden, daughter of Hans C. and Minnie (Matejcek) Bjugstad was born on April 27, 1919 in rural Sheldon. She attended rural Sheldon School and Lisbon High School. She also graduated from NDSSS in Wahpeton.
On December 27, 1938 she married Vern L. Louden In Lisbon. They lived in Dickinson, ND for two and one-half years. They then lived in Aberdeen, SD for two and one-half years. They returned to the Lisbon area in 1943 to farm. They retired in 1974 and moved into Lisbon. He died August 21, 1999.
She is survived by one daughter-in-law, Kaye Louden, Lisbon; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a sister, Vi (Russell) Bueling, Sheldon. She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, Kenneth.
Pallbearers for the funeral were Dennis Bjugstad, Neal Bjugstad, Lance Bueling, Roger Louden, Bob Louden and John Christiansen.
Special music will be provided by Bill and Sarah Louden.
Interment at Oakwood Cemetery, Lisbon.

Lavonne Albright
Memorial service for Lavonne Albright, 89, Pelican Rapids, MN, was held on Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids. Reverend Laurie Skow-Anderson officiated. Mrs. Albright died Saturday, July 23, 2005 at the Pelican Valley Nursing Home, Pelican Rapids, MN.
Lavonne Pearce, daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Schram) Pearce was born on December 2, 1915 in Frazee, MN. She grew up and attended school in Frazee, graduating from Frazee High School.
On October 30, 1935, she married Walter Albright in Detroit Lakes, MN. They lived in Pelican Rapids, Perham and Crookston, MN, moving back to Pelican Rapids in 1946. From 1958 to 1980 she worked at the West Central Turkey, Inc. Mr. Albright died in 1978. She was president of the Senior Citizens Center for many years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Judith (John) Marko, Pelican Rapids; five sons, Larry (Ardyce) Albright, Gwinner, Dennis (Kay) Albright, Pelican Rapids, Charles (Nanette) Albright, Pelican Rapids; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, parents, brother, Vernon Pearce and sister, Vivian Mickelson.

Cheri A. Balken
Funeral services for Cheri A. Balken, 50, Fargo, ND, were held on Saturday, July 30, 2005 at Hamar Lutheran Church, Rothsay, MN. Pastor Craig Hanson and Reverend Shelley Prentice officiated. Mrs. Balken died Sunday, July 24, 2005 at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo.
Cheri Ann Froemke, daughter of Dale and Ardis (Corpe) Froemke was born on June 7, 1955 in Lisbon. In 1973, she moved to Fargo, where she worked for Blue Cross/Blue Shield for 30 years. After her retirement from Blue Cross/Blue Shield she worked on a part-time basis at Calvary Methodist Church, Fargo.
On September 29, 1979, she married Gene Balken. They resided in Fargo.
She is survived by her husband, Gene, Fargo; two daughters, Nicole and Jenna, Fargo; her parents, and a brother, Rick (Nancy) Froemke, Wahpeton.
Interment at Hamar Lutheran Cemetery, Rothsay.
Grina Funeral Home, Rothsay, was in charge of arrangements.

Kathy A. Dick
Private services for Kathy A. Dick, 41, Chester, SC, were held on Sunday, July 17, 2005 in Chester, SC. Reverend Jim Watkins officiated. Mrs. Dick died Thursday, July 14, 2005 as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Kathy Ann Nolin, daughter of Gary Nolin, Miliken, CO and Jane Baxter Connelly, West Long Branch, NJ. was a native of Neptune, NJ. She was a graduate of Asbury Park High School in Asbury Park, NJ. She was employed with Hair Cuttery in Tega Cay and was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her husband Kevin Dick, her parents; two daughters, Angelica M. Dick, Chester, Tara J. Dick, Chester; two brothers, Steve Nolin, West Long Branch, Tommy Connelly, West Long Branch; her stepmother, Nancy Nolin, Miliken, her half-brother, Derek Nolin, Miliken; her half-sister, Becky Nolin, Kersey, CO; paternal grandmother, Margaret Nolin, Greeley, Co; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Donald (Julie) Dick, Enderlin, Douglas (Donna) Dick Mayville and Mary (Bruce) Madsen, Lisbon.
Barron Funeral Home, was in charge of arrangements.

Lyle J. Dunwoody
Memorial service for Lyle J. Dunwoody, 54, Jamestown, ND, formerly Pingree, ND, was held on Friday, July 29, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown. Reverend Bryce Tahran and Pastor John McCall officiated. Mr. Dunwoody died Monday, July 25, 2005 at his home in Jamestown.
Lyle J. Dunwoody, son of Howard and Laura (Bennett) Dunwoody was born on December 10, 1950 in Jamestown. He graduated from Pingree High School in 1968 and attended North Dakota State School of Science.
In 1969, he married Pamela Susan Mckenzie in Pingree. He worked at Haybusters, Inc. for a short time. They later owned and operated the Pingree Cafe. He also owned and operated L & J Repair in Pingree for 30 years.
On December 30, 1982 he married Kay Diane Van Dyke in Aberdeen.
He is survived by four children, Jason Dunwoody, Lisbon, Amy Dunwoody, Fargo, Patrick Dunwoody, Jamestown and Jerome Dunwoody, Jamestown; his mother, Laura Hall, Jamestown; four grandchildren; two sisters, Vicki (John) McCall, Clinton, MS and Cindy Berg, Rock Lake, ND; two brothers, Glenn (Robin) Dunwoody, Jamestown and Wayne (Janell) Dunwoody, Pingree. He was preceded in death by his wife and his father.
Interment at a later date.

Alice Hansen
Funeral services for Alice Hanson, 89, Valley City, ND, were held on Monday, July 25, 2005 at Spring Creek Lutheran Church, Hastings. Reverend Dan Faust officiated. Mrs. Hanson died Friday, July 22, 2005 at Sheyenne Care Center, Valley City.
Alice Mennis, daughter of Andrew and Lisa (Flatten) Mennis was born on February 24, 1916 in Northland Township, Ransom County, ND. She attended Bear Creek School near Fort Ransom through the 8th grade and then two years at Lindvold School in Kathryn.
On August 12, 1933, she married Hermie Hanson in Moorhead, MN. They made their home in Kathryn where they owned and operated Hanson’s Grocery Store.
She entered the U.S. Navy on April 6, 1944 and was discharged October 27, 1945. Both she and her husband were in the Navy. Upon their discharges, they returned to Kathryn to run the grocery store again. After they sold the store, they bought a farm in Northland Township. After their retirement, they moved to Hastings, ND and wintered in Arizona. He died on December 22, 1982. She moved to Valley City in 1992 and entered the Sheyenne Care Center in 1999.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers, Maynard and Marvin Mennis.
Interment at Nordheim Cemetery, rural Kathryn.

Eugene M. Hanson
Funeral services for Eugene M. Hansen, 56, Fargo, ND, were held on Friday, July 22, 2005 at First Lutheran Church, Fargo. Mr. Hanson died Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at his home.
Eugene M. (Bud) Hansen, son of Eubert and Martha Hansen was born on January 1, 1949 in Breckenridge, MN. He grew up and attended school in Breckenridge and lived there until moving to Battle Lake, MN in the mid 1960s. He lived in Battle Lake until moving to Fergus Falls. Mr. Hanson then moved to McLeod where he lived until coming to Fargo. He started Bud’s Popcorn next to the Fargo Theatre and currently operated Bud’s Popcorn at the Black Building.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy, Fargo; son, Ron Svare, Underwood, MN; brothers, Erland (Kitty) Hansen, Wahpeton, and Robert (LaVella) Hansen, Abercrombie.
Interment at Springvale Cemetery, Fargo.

Jane Hoy-Dreier
Funeral services for Jane M. Hoy Dreier, 67, Fargo, ND, were held on Wednesday, July 27, 2005 in Faith Lutheran Church, West Fargo. Mrs. Hoy-Dreier died Saturday, July 23, 2005 at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo.
Jane Hoy-Dreier, daughter of Frederick and Verna (Jorgenson) Kruger was born on December 3, 1937 in Lisbon. She grew up in Lisbon and graduated from Lisbon High School in 1955. She attended Interstate Business College in Fargo.
On January 20, 1957, she married Gary W. Hoy, in West Fargo. Beginning in 1958 and continuing until 2004, she held various positions, including banking assistant and a collections agent. Mr. Hoy died December 19, 1990.
She married Carl Dreier Jr. on January 1, 1992 in Las Vegas, NV.
She is survived by her husband, Carl, Fargo; two daughters, Shelly (Dave) Soulis, Green Bay, WI, Bonnie (Mike) Hoy-Thompson, Mapleton; two sons, Terry (Tina) Hoy, Spokane, WI, Rick (Cindy) Hoy, Fargo; ten grandchildren; her mother, Verna (Kruger) Scheussler, Fargo; one sister, Ann (Fred) Kraft, Enderlin; two brothers, Jim Kruger, Rogers, ND and Ted (Marvel) Kruger, Lisbon. She was preceded in death by her husband Gary, her father and her mother and father-in-law.
Interment at Moorhead Memorial Gardens, Moorhead, MN.
West Funeral Home, Fargo, was in charge of arrangements.
