Donald B. Jordahl
Funeral services for Donald B. Jordahl, 79, Lisbon, ND, were held on Friday, April 14, 2006, at the North Dakota Veterans Home, Lisbon. Rev. John Anderson officiated. Mr. Jordahl died Sunday, April 9 at the North Dakota Veterans Home.
Donald B. Jordahl, son of Jacob and Marie (Overbee) Jordahl, was born on September 10, 1926 at Pipestone, MN. He attended LaMoure School, LaMoure, ND. He served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War. He was a bus driver in Fargo, ND for 20 years, and also worked for Greyhound Bus for about a year. From 1978 to 1985 he worked for the North Dakota State University police. He was a member of the LaMoure American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Hjelmer, Edwin, Lawrence, Alvin, Vernon, and Marvel (Jordahl) Thiel.
Pallbearers for the funeral were Larry Jordahl, James Jordahl, Jacob Jordahl, Jeff Jordahl, Jerry Jordahl, and Jay Jordahl. Honorary pallbearers were the North Dakota Veterans Home residents, staff, and all others in attendance.
Music was provided by organist Borgie Bohlken.
Interment at Rosehill Cemetery, LaMoure.
Armstrong Funeral Home, Lisbon, was in charge of arrangements.

Lucy W. Billey
Memorial services for Lucy W. Billey, 98, Ellendale, ND, will be held Monday, April 17, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Presbyterian United Methodist Church, Ellendale with Pastor Adrienne Trhlik officiating. Mrs. Billey died January 27, 2006 at the Prince of Peace Care Center in Ellendale.
Lucy W. Billey, daughter of Mark and Mary (Frost) Warnick, was born October 18, 1907 in Nevada, Missouri. She attended rural schools in McPherson County, SD, and graduated from Central High School, Aberdeen, SD on June 3, 1927.
On June 9, 1934, she married Harold Billey in Aberdeen. She attended the State Normal and Industrial College in Ellendale, where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. She received further education at Iowa State, Colorado State and North Dakota State Universities during summer sessions where she completed graduate work in home economics.
Lucy taught in rural schools for five years and in the Ellendale Public School for over thirteen years. In 1958 she moved to Lisbon where she taught home economics for thirteen years. Upon retiring she returned to Ellendale where she volunteered throughout the community.
Lucy was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church in Ellendale and Lisbon. She was a member of church circles, professional education organizations and Toastmistress Club.
She is survived by one son, James (Dianne) Billey, Ellendale; two grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a stepmother, two brothers, two sisters, one nephew and one niece.
A private burial will be held at Green Mound Cemetery, Leola, SD.
Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale, was in charge of arrangements.

Wayne L. Stram
Wayne L. Stram, 71, Sierra Vista, AZ, died Sunday, April 2, 2006 after a long illness due to cancer.
Wayne L. Stram, son of Mike and Hazel Stram, was born January 23, 1936 in Rutland, ND. He graduated from Lisbon High School in 1955.
He served three years in the US Army and upon leaving the Army in Okinawa was employed by the Army Security Agency in 1961 until his retirement in 1999 at Sierra Vista, AZ.
He is survived by his wife, Toni; daughters Cristine and Michele; sons Michel and Jason; sisters Jeanette, Henderson, NV, and Nancy, West Fargo; brothers Lyle, South Haven, MN, Ted, Henderson, NV, and Lee, Grass Valley, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Leona, brothers Maurice, Max, Francis, Clyde and Richard.

Marie Johnson
Funeral services for Marie Johnson, 93, West Fargo, ND formerly of Leonard, ND, were held on Sunday, April 9, 2006, at Helendale Lutheran Church, rural Leonard. Mrs. Johnson died Wednesday, April 5, at Palliative Care, MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND.
Marie Gulland, daughter of Henry and Anna Gulland, was born on October 31, 1912, near McLeod, ND. She attended Sheyenne Central School, rural McLeod.
On November 20, 1929, she married Clifford Johnson at Wahpeton, ND. She was a member of the Helendale Lutheran Church for 76 years, and served as president of the Helendale Ladies Aid for many years.
She is survived by four sons, Leon (Virginia) Johnson, Fargo, Jerroll (Vivian) Johnson, Enderlin, ND, Lyle (Betty) Johnson, Kindred, ND, Rollin (Jeanne) Johnson, Leonard; one daughter, Carol (Harlan) Johnson, Charlotte, NC; 14 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford; son Allen; granddaughter, Pamela; grandson, Mike, and 10 sisters and brothers.
Interment at Helendale Cemetery, Leonard.
Fredrikson Funeral Chapel, Kindred, was in charge of arrangements.

Ruby Nancy Bleese
Memorial services for Ruby Nancy Bleese, 92, Vancouver, WA, were held March 31, 2006 at Battleground, WA. Mrs. Bleese died March 27, 2006 in Vancouver.
Ruby Bleese, daughter of Daniel and Alida Lohr, was born February 6, 1914 in Sheldon.
She married Wilbert Bleese in 1941 and they made their home in Alice, ND, and then in Minnesota. In 1962 they moved to Washington, where she worked as a nurse’s aide for many years. Wilbert died in 1987. In 1997 she moved back to Verona, ND, where she was a member of the Oakes Church of the Nazarene. She moved back to Washington in 2001 to live with her daughter until the time of her death.
She is survived by her children: Teddy (Ron), Everett, WA, Vickie (Bud) Ledbetter, Battleground, WA, and Lonny (Pam) Bleese, Verona, ND; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wilbert, and an infant son in 1950.

Pearl Bentson
Funeral services for Pearl Bentson, 102, Forman, ND, formerly Cogswell, were held Monday, April 10, 2006 at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Cogswell, with Rev. Arlington T. Mitskog officiating. Mrs. Bentson died Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at Four Seasons Healthcare Center, Forman.
Pearl Marie Daniels, daughter of William Squire and Myrtle (Montgomery) Daniels, was born September 2, 1903 in the sand hills on a farm near Straubville, ND. She attended rural Sargent County schools and graduated from Cogswell High School in 1923. She attended Valley City and Ellendale Teachers Colleges and received her teaching credentials. She then taught school at Gwinner for seven years.
On June 15, 1929, she married Emil Walfred Bentson at Britton, SD. They lived on a farm three miles east of Cogswell. They retired from active farming in 1956. They spent their winters in Westlaco, TX for many years. Emil died November 25, 1981.
Pearl was a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church of Cogswell, where she had served as Sunday School Superintendent for many years. She also taught the confirmation class and was active in the Ladies Aide. She was a 50 year member of the Modern Homemakers, belonged to the Farmers Union, and was the clerk for Bowen #2 Township for several years.
She is survived by her son Oliver (Betty) Bentson, Pelican Rapids, MN; her daughter Helen (Gerald) Bentson-Lamson, Fargo; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a son-in-law Orvile Gehring, Cogswell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter Lois Gehring, and nine brothers and sisters.
Casketbearers were Randall Bentson, Daniel Bentson, Robert Gehring, Richard Gehring, Ronald Gehring, John Hayen and Todd Stein. Honorary casketbearers were Donette Port, Renee Larson, Julette Downs and Pearl’s nine great-grandchildren.
Music was provided by organist Judy Ringdahl and special music by Carole and Harvey Wolff.
Interment at Sargent Cemetery, Cogswell.
Price Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Sarah L. Bopp
Funeral Mass for Sarah L. Bopp, 92, Lisbon, were held Thursday, April 13 at St. Vincent Catholic Church, Gwinner, with Father Jerald Finnestad as celebrant. Mrs. Bopp died Sunday, April 9, 2006 at Parkside Lutheran Home, Lisbon.
Sarah L. Stroh, daughter of Jacob and Marie (Schiffner) Stroh, was born April 17, 1913 at rural Elliott, ND. She attended rural Elliott School, and graduated from Elliot High School. She attended Key’s School of Business in Lisbon.
On November 29, 1933, she married Kenneth Bopp at Stirum, ND. They farmed near Stirum. They moved to Gwinner in 1977. They spent a few winters living in Fargo where Sarah did volunteer work at Dakota Hospital. Kenneth died in 1984.
Sarah attended St. Vincent Catholic Church in Gwinner, and held offices in St. Vincent Church, school and community.
She is survived by three sons: Retired Col. Delwin (companion-Christine) Bopp, Pymar, England, Retired Col. Charles (Karen) Bopp, Carrollton, TX, and Roger (Mary) Bopp, Stirum, ND; ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, and siblings: Henry, Anna Urbach, Jake, John, George, Marie Beem, William, Lena Crandall, Carl, Albert, and Esther Anderson.
Pallbearers were Delwin Bopp, Charles Bopp, Roger Bopp, Tim Bopp, Steve Bopp and Scott Bopp.
Music was provided by organist Danelle Johnson and soloist Debra Bopp.
Interment at St. Vincent Catholic Cemetery, Stirum.
Armstrong Funeral Home, Lisbon was in charge of arrangements.
