Louva Joy Busche
Funeral services for Louva Joy Busche, 80, Devils Lake, formerly of Lakota, N.D., were held Wednesday, April 18, 2001, at Lakota Lutheran Church, with Rev. Roger Johnson officiating. She died Wednesday, April 11, 2001, at Seasons Hospice in Rochester, Minn.
Louva Joy Ballinger was born March 8, 1921, in Lamoure, the eldest child of Ernest and Margaret Ballinger, Englevale. “Joy” attended elementary and high school at Verona, graduating in 1939. While in school she enjoyed success presenting declamations as well as playing leading roles in plays and starting on the women’s basketball team. She attended Valley City State Teachers College and then worked at a major department store in Chicago before returning to North Dakota.
On December 27, 1942, Joy married Rawlynn E. Busche at Verona, and they moved to Seattle while Rawlynn served in the U.S. Navy. When they returned home, they settled in Lakota, N.D. In their retirement years, they spent the winter in Mesa, Ariz., where Joy eventually purchased a condo. She was preceded in death by her husband in March 1992.
Joy is survived by three sons, Dale (Karen) Busche, Devils Lake and Fargo, Randall (Candace) Busche, Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Douglas (Lana) Busche, Fountain Hills, Ariz.; a daughter, Rawala Joy (Terry) Adkins, Rochester, Minn.; two brothers, Lester Ballinger, Fargo, and Bob Ballinger, Moses Lake, Wash.; two sisters, Ernestine Peterson, Claremore, Okla., and LaRae Steffan, Hesperia, Calif.; eleven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Dean Locken, Martin Aaser, Milo Elgin, Aron Anderson, Milton Wagness, and Edwin Berge. Honorary Pallbearers were all of Joy’s grandchildren.
Music was provided by the Lakota Lutheran Choir.
Interment at Lakota Cemetery.
Aaker Funeral Home, Lakota, was in charge of arrangements.

Linda Marie Tegtmeier
Funeral services for Linda Marie Tegtmeier, 49, Colfax, were held Thursday, April 19, 2001, at Norman Lutheran Church, Kindred. She died Monday, April 16, 2001, in MeritCare Hospital.
Linda Bunt was born October 29, 1951, in Oakes. She attended rural school in the Lisbon and Stirum, N.D., area. She graduated from Lisbon High School in 1970 and from Interstate Business College in Fargo. She began work for Bell Telephone Company in Fargo.
Linda married Sheldon Tegtmeier on August 16, 1974, in Norman Lutheran Church, Kindred. They moved to a farm near Colfax in January 1975. She worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota for the past 12 years.
She is survived by her husband, Sheldon, Colfax; her children, Amber Dow, Chandler, Minn., Susan Stone, Fargo, and Grant Tegtmeier, Colfax; her mother, Clarice Bunt, Gwinner; two brothers, Wayne Bunt, Lisbon, and Allan Bunt, Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.; a sister, Lorna Olsen, Fargo; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Harley Bunt.
Interment at Norman Lutheran Cemetery, Kindred.
Fredrikson Funeral Chapel, Kindred, was in charge of arrangements.

Rose C. Davis
Mass of Christian Burial for Rose C. Davis, 87, Dickinson, were held on Thursday, October 4, 2001 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Detroit Lakes. Mrs. Davis died Sunday, September 30, 2001 at the Emmauel Nursing Home, Detroit Lakes.
Rose Clare Frank, daughter of Mike and Magdeline (Hecker) Frank was born on July 22, 1914, Belfield, N.D. She grew up on a farm and attended country school and then Belfield Public School.
She married Joseph Polensky. They resided in South Heart and Belfield, N.D. She was later united in marriage to Leo Davis in Montana in 1948. They resided in Belfield where she worked as a cook in the Belfield School. She later worked for Shaffer Industries in Medora, N.D. In 1979 she retired and moved to Dickinson, where she resided until March of 2001, when she moved to Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes. She enjoyed her family, music, including playing guitar, accordion and piano, she loved to socialize with her friends and was very involved with her senior activities.
She is survived by two sons, Raymond (Donna) Polensky, Brownsville, Texas and Timothy Davis, Lisbon; three brothers, Henry (Pauline) Frank, Laurel Mont., Ted Frank, Dickinson, and Charles (Judy) Frank, Redondo Beach, Calif; five sisters, Helen Ruby, Carlsbad, Calif., Agnes Geiger, Hemet, Calif., Alice Dove, Florida (City unknown), Bertha Totth, Vacille, Calif., and Marie Horton, Carlsbad, Calif.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leo Davis, a daughter, Janet Polensky, three sisters, Margaret Sticka, Katherine and Frances, three brothers Nicholas, George and Bill.
Interment at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Detroit Lakes.

Marion F. Andel
Funeral services for Marion F. Andel, 86, Moorhead, were held on Thursday, October 4, 2001 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead. Mrs. Andel died Sunday, September 30, 2001 at her home in Moorhead.
Marion Frances Rick daughter of E.J. and Wilamina (Aye) Rick was born on September 20, 1915, in Tripp, S.D. She attended country schools for her education. When Marion was eight years of age, the family moved to a farm nine miles north of Breckenridge.
On September 21, 1935, she married Frank Andel, in Wahpeton. They farmed in the Breckenridge area. In 1952, they moved to the Lisbon area where they farmed and then returned to Breckenridge when they retired. Frank died in July 1976 and Marion moved to Fargo. She volunteered for many organizations including St. John’s Hospital Fargo and Dakota Boys Ranch, Moorhead. She was a member of Christian Mothers, TOPS, and received many awards as a Tupperware dealer. Marion moved to Moorhead in 1994.
She is survived by two sons, Charles (Pat) Andel, Henning, Minn. and Raymond Andel, Fargo; four daughters, Frances Hiam, Fargo, Eilene (James) Sweet-Seitz, Fargo, Alice (Lee) Brown, Wilton, N.D. and Hazel Maddocks, Mapleton; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, one son, Donald, and ten brothers and sisters.
Interment at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Breckenridge.

Larry Krohn
Funeral services for Larry A. Krohn, 52, Gwinner, were held on Friday, October 5, 2001 at Zion Lutheran Church, Gwinner. Reverend Kirk Douglas officiated. Mr. Krohn died Tuesday, October 2, 2001 at his home in Gwinner.
Larry A. Krohn, son of Lester and Martha (Kempel) Krohn was born on January 25, 1949 in Fargo. He attended school in Gwinner. Larry lived near Gwinner until 1993 when he moved into Gwinner. He had worked at Melroe Mfg. in Gwinner.
He is survived by one half-sister, Della Jane (Sid) Jackson, Minneapolis.
Pallbearers for the funeral were Sid Jackson, Michael Cisewski, Ray Fuss, Corey Fuss, Randy Fuss and Trevor Fuss.
Music was provided by organist LaVonne Nelson and soloist Julie Johnson.
Interment at Gwinner Cemetery, Gwinner.

Marcella Grace Brown
Funeral services for Marcella Grace Brown, 91, Fargo (formerly Sheldon), were held on Saturday, September 29, 2001 at First Baptist Church, Linton. Reverend Don Andrews officiated. Mrs. Brown died Tuesday, September 25, 2001 in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo.
Marcella Grace Wieg, daughter of Alfred C. and Sadie (Kiefert) Wieg, was born on February 9, 1910 in Sheldon. She attended school in Sheldon and went on to nurses’ training in Minneapolis. Ill health prevented her from finishing her course work. She then became a school teacher and taught in the Linton area for several years.
On March 26, 1938, she married Darel Brown at the Methodist Church in Linton. They farmed on a farmstead in Danbury township, spending winters in California for many years. She was active in the Temvik Methodist Church, often singing at funerals and weddings with Edwin Schenkenberger. She also taught adult Sunday School classes in the churches she attended in California, Linton and Bismarck. She was also active WSCS, later United Methodist Women. The family moved to Linton in 1954 where they built a home and continued to be engaged in farming. During this time, they spent several winters in Wisconsin and Illinois, where Darel worked for the Fort Wayne Leasing Company. They retired from farming in 1975 and wintered in Peoria, Ariz. In 1983, they moved to Bismarck and later to Linton and most recently to Fargo.
She is survived by her husband, Darel Brown, Fargo; one son, Rev. Wayne (Charlotte) Brown, Las Vegas, Nev.; one daughter, Yvonne (Erwin) Kiemele, Fargo; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a half-sister, Helen Deniston. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Gladys Sweeney, Laura Monson and Adeline Healy; and one stepsister, Betty Woodward.
Pallbearers for the funeral were her grandsons, Lester Kiemele, Steve Kiemele, John Kiemele, Tim Brown, Dan Petron and Mark Kelm.
Music was provided by organist Linda Seidel and special music from members of Marcella’s family.
Interment at Linton Cemetery, Linton.
Myers Funeral Home, Linton, was in charge of arrangements.

Mitchell L. Henricks
Funeral services for Mitchell L. Henricks, 43, Fargo, were held on Tuesday, October 2, 2001 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lisbon. Reverend Norman Anderson and Reverend David Killeen officiated. Mr. Henricks died Thursday, September 27, 2001 at a Fargo hospital.
Mitchell L. Henricks, son of Henry and Anna Mae (Adolfs) Henricks, was born on March 12, 1958 in Lisbon. He graduated from Lisbon High School in 1977 and was in the U.S. Army from August 1977 until 1983. After his military service, Mitch worked in the oil fields in Williston for one year.
He is survived by his parents, Henry and Anna Mae Henricks, Lisbon; three brothers, Monte Henricks, Perham, Minn., Jeff Henricks, Lisbon, and Joe (Diane) Henricks, Fargo; one sister, Vickie Henricks, Dickinson; two nieces and five nephews.
Pallbearers for the funeral were Tyler Henricks, Jordon Henricks, Jerid Henricks, Natasha Henricks, Jenna Henricks, Justin Henricks and Andy Aarseth.
Music was provided by organist Marj Vangsness and soloist Charlene Rondestvedt.
Interment at Oakwood Cemetery, Lisbon.

Norman K. Dahl
Funeral services for Norman K. (Bawky) Dahl, 73, Glasgow, Mont., were held on Monday, September 24, 2001 at First Lutheran Church, Glasgow. Pastor George Draper officiated. Mr. Dahl died Wednesday, September 18, 2001 at Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital.
Norman K. Dahl, son of Hans and Rose Dahl, was born on June 17, 1928 in Sheldon. He graduated from Sheldon High School and then served in the Korean Conflict from December 7, 1950 until he was honorably discharged September 4, 1952.
On February 28, 1953, he married Fay Lindemann in Fargo. They raised five children. He played on the Sheldon baseball team, which won the North Dakota State Championship. Norm worked for the Glasgow Courier for thirty years. He was also a locksmith for several years.
He is survived by his wife, Fay Dahl, Glasgow; two sons, Keith Dahl, Glasgow, and Duane of Fort Peck; three daughters, Cheryl Melikian, Great Falls, Linda Gay, Glendive, Mont., and Candy Thorson, Kalispell, Mont.; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Darwin Dahl, Canton, S.D. and Jerome (Kim) Dahl, White Bear Lake, Minn; five sisters, Deloris Gesterling, Seattle, Wash., Eleanor (Harvey) Milbrandt, Lisbon, Bev Komrosky, Glasgow, Mont., Darlene Mark, Sheldon, and Sharon Riley, Enderlin.
Military services and interment were held at Highland Cemetery.
