VINCENT P. AMICOSANTE, 69, of Ridgefield died Wednesday. Before retiring in 1992, he was deputy chief of the Ridgefield Police Department, where he worked for 32 years. He was past president of the Policemen's Benevolent Association, the Honor Society, and Unico, all in Ridgefield. He was a member of the Cliffside Park Men's Club. Arrangements: Blackley Funeral Home, Ridgefield.

FREDERICK C. BERGER, 53, of Mahwah died Wednesday. Before retiring in 1997, he was a health-care manager for Aetna in New York City. Previously, he was vice president of US Healthcare in Philadelphia. He was a member of St. John Episcopal Church, Ramsey. He was a 1967 graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology. Arrangements: Van Emburgh-Sneider Funeral Home, Ramsey.

THOMAS F. BUTLER, 71, of Ringwood, formerly of Clifton, died Thursday. He was chairman of the department of business administration at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Rutherford and Teaneck. Previously, he was a business administration and statistics instructor at Pace University in White Plains, N.Y. He also had worked for Squibb, New York City, and Merck Sharp & Dohme, Wayne. He was a parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church, Ringwood. He was past president of the New Jersey Organization for Mentally Ill Children and a member of the Clifton-Passaic YMCA. A graduate of St. Francis College, New York City, he received a doctorate from Pace University. Arrangements: Moore's Home for Funerals, Wayne.

GERALDINE SCOTT CASSIDY, 81, of New Milford died Wednesday. She was a member of the New Milford Seniors. She was past president and treasurer of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4290 Auxiliary and a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the New Milford Volunteer Fire Department. Arrangements: Boulevard Funeral Home, New Milford.

ROSE CASALE CATANZARO, 84, of Hackensack died Wednesday. Before retiring in 1981, she was a dressmaker for Duca Dress Co., Lodi. She was a parishioner of Holy Trinity R.C. Church, Hackensack. Arrangements: G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, Hackensack.

NITZA A. COLON, 44, of Garfield died Wednesday. She was an inventory clerk for JVC Electronics in Fairfield. Arrangements: Madonna Multinational Home for Funerals, Passaic.

LAWRENCE E. CONNOLLY, 93, of Westwood, formerly of Teaneck, died Thursday. Before retiring in 1971, he was assistant vice president and a consultant for Willcox & Gibbs Inc., where he worked for 40 years. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church, Washington Township. Arrangements: Becker Funeral Home, Westwood.

MARY E. CRAIG, 87, of Demarest died Wednesday. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph R.C. Church, Demarest. Arrangements: Moritz Funeral Home, Closter.

ALBERT P. DALY, 69, of Closter died Wednesday. Before retiring in 1998, he was a custodian in the Closter school district, working at Village and Tenakill schools. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8003, Closter. He was a parishioner of St. Mary R.C. Church, Closter. He was a member of the New Jersey Education Association. Arrangements: Anthony R. Pizzi Funeral Home, Northvale.

MICHAEL F. DEVINE, 86, of Allendale died Wednesday. He was born in Canada. Before retiring in 1974, he was a certified life underwriter for Met Life, New York City, where he worked for 43 years. He was a Coast Guard veteran of World War II. Arrangements: Vander Plaat Funeral Home, Wyckoff.

PHYLLIS ESPOSITO FARINA, 82, of Maywood, formerly of Hackensack, died Thursday. Before retiring in 1969, she was a packer for S. Goldberg & Co., Hackensack. She was a parishioner of St. Mary R.C. Church, Hackensack. Arrangements: G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, Hackensack.

JOHN P. GILLEN, 60, of Hackensack died Thursday. He worked for Pathmark in Hackensack. He was a parishioner of Holy Trinity R.C. Church, Hackensack. He was a volunteer for Hackensack University Medical Center and a member of Knights of Columbus Council 747, Hackensack. Arrangements: G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, Hackensack.

ELSA HOFMANN, 94, of Clifton died Thursday. Born in Germany, she came to the United States in 1923. She was a member of the Clifton Congregation of the New Apostolic Church. Arrangements: Allwood Funeral Home, Clifton.

LAURA GUSTAFSON HOLLOPETER-HULLSTRUNG, 71, of Ramsey died Saturday. Before retiring, she was an environmental presenter in the schools for Bergen County. She was a member of Saddle River Reformed Church, Upper Saddle River, and its guild. Arrangements: Akes Family Funeral Home, Riverside, Calif.

LUDWIK KUMKA, 70, of Wallington died Thursday. Born in Poland, he came to the United States in 1966. Before retiring in 1984, he was a material controller for Bristol-Myers Co., Hillside, where he worked for 10 years. Previously, he was employed by Parke-Davis Co., Teterboro. He was a parishioner of Most Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Wallington. Arrangements: Kamienski Funeral Home, Wallington.

WILLIAM LaCOUR, 93, of Cresskill died Wednesday. Before retiring, he was an ironworker and a member of union Local 40. He was a parishioner of St. Therese R.C. Church, Cresskill. He was a member of the Cresskill Senior Citizens. Arrangements: Barrett Funeral Home, Tenafly.
