DENNIS J. MISEJE, 54, of Keyport died March 28 at home. Born in Newark, he resided in the Cliffwood Beach section of Aberdeen before moving to Keyport 12 years ago. Mr. Miseje was a self-employed painter. He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Miseje, in 1994; his mother, Anastasia Miseje, in 2001; and a sister, Linda Bodziak, in 1997. He is survived by three sons, Dennis Miseje, Jason Miseje and Justin Miseje, all of Keyport; his father, Julius Miseje of the Cliffwood section of Aberdeen; two sisters, Carol Ann Thomas of Matawan and Loretta Sarni of Long Branch; and his brother, Gary Miseje of Matawan.
STEPHEN MOJICA, 39, of Owego, N.Y., died April 5 at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center, Binghamton, N.Y. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he resided in Aberdeen prior to moving to Owego eight years ago. Mr. Mojica was a manager in the seafood department at Giant Markets, Vestal, N.Y., for the past seven years. He was a past member of Faith Fellowship, Sayreville, and Calvary Chapel, Old Bridge. He was predeceased by his father, Louis Marshall, in 1998. He is survived by his mother, Anita Civiletti-Marshall of Aberdeen; his fiancee, Susan Graves of Owega; his daughter and son, Stephenie and Christopher MacDonald, at home; two brothers, Christopher Mojica of Philadelphia and Daniel Mojica of Howell; and two sisters, Leslie Mojica of Aberdeen and Dina Marshall of Avon. Visitation will be April 9 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Day Funeral Home, Keyport. A funeral service will be held April 10 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment
will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Keyport.
WINSTON MACKLIN JR., 53, of Keyport died March 22 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Long Branch, he was a lifelong resident of Keyport. Mr. Macklin was a local window washer and floor waxer for several years, as well as a machine operator for 12 years. He was predeceased by his father, Winston Macklin Sr. He is survived by his mother, Christina F. Macklin of Keyport; his sister, Patricia Foster of Keyport; two nieces, Kendara Crook of Keansburg and Keianna Foster of Keyport; his nephew, Kenneth Foster of Keyport; and several grandnieces and grand nephews. A memorial service was held at Second Baptist Church, Keyport.
WILLIS L. WESTENDORF, 74, of Whiting died March 25 at Deborah Heart and Lung Center, Browns Mills section of Pemberton. Born in Keansburg, he lived most of his life in Holmdel before retiring to Whiting. He was employed by Dunn and Bradstreet, Freehold, and was also a retired Teamster. He served with the U.S. Marines during World War II. He was a communicant of St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg, where he also served as a lector, Eucharistic minister for the sick, and past president of the Holy Name Society. He was a past scoutmaster and council member of the Monmouth County Boy Scouts. He is survived by his wife, Grace Crombie Westendorf, of Whiting; three sons, Jack Westendorf of Fair Haven, Russell Westendorf of Colts Neck, and Kurt Westendorf of Keansburg; two daughters, Tara Demyanovich of Holmdel, and Jeanne Westendorf of Red Bank; three sisters, Phyllis Horn of Middletown, Kay Sinclair of Atlantic Highlands, and Sandy Seeley of Keansburg; and eight grandchildren. DOROTHY "DOT" MARIE PAUELS, 85, of Rumson died March 29 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in the Locust section of Middletown, she resided in Rumson for the past 61 years. Mrs. Pauels was co-owner of Paul’s Boats, Rumson, from 1940-76. She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Navesink section of Middletown. She was a member and past president of Oceanic Fire Auxiliary, Rumson; a member of the Eastern Star, Monmouth Chapter, Atlantic Highlands; and a member and past Royal Matron of the Order of Emerant Charity Court No. 38, Fair Haven. Mrs. Pauels was predeceased by a son, Peter J. Pauels Jr., in 1998. She is survived by her husband, Peter J. Pauels Sr. of Rumson; a son and daughter-in-law, Arthur "Nippy" and Mary E. Pauels of Rumson; a daughter-in-law, Patsy Pauels of California; a brother, William Stryker of Atlantic City; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. THOMAS V. McDONALD SR., 80, of Middletown died March 31 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. He was a resident of Middletown the past 45 years. He was a maintenance millwright at Midland Glass, Cliffwood section of Aberdeen, for 20 years, retiring in 1983. He was a communicant of St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, Middletown. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II, receiving the Distinguished Service Cross, French Liberation Medal, European Theater Ribbon (two stars), Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon, Victory Medal and Philippine Liberation Medal. He was a past vice president and current member of Brian Boru Division II Ancient Order of Hibernians. He was an avid lover of animals. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Eleanore McDonald of Middletown; his daughter, Marykate McDonald of Middletown; two sons and daughters-in-law, John J. and Theresa M. McDonald Sr. of Union Beach, and Thomas V. and Michele J. McDonald of Middletown; his sister, Rita Romanowski of Bayonne; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, Middletown. Burial was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
MARY M. BARBER, 75, of Keyport died April 2 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Kearny, she resided in Union Beach prior to moving to Keyport two years ago. She was a housekeeper at Bayshore Community Hospital for 15 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of the Keyport Senior Citizens. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Barber in 1975. She is survived by her son, Charles E. Barber of Forked River; her daughter, Maryanne Shane of Union Beach; her brother, James Mack of Albion, N.Y.; and three grandchildren.
RITA G. REAVES of the Port Monmouth section of Middletown died April 2 at Madison Center, Matawan. She resided in Jersey City prior to moving to Port Monmouth, where she lived most of her life. She was a retired dietary relief supervisor at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, where she was employed for 19 years. She was a member of the Belford Methodist Church, Belford section of Middletown. She was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2179, Port Monmouth. She was predeceased by her husband, Melvin G.M. Reaves in 1982, and a son, Bruce A. Reaves in 1964. She is survived by her son, Richard Reaves of Port Monmouth. Burial was at Bay View Cemetery, Leonardo section of Middletown.
RICHARD E. PRYOR, 79, of the River Plaza section of Middletown, died April 4 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Bradley Beach, he had resided there and in the Lincroft section of Middletown before moving to River Plaza in 1960. Mr. Pryor served with the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II, and was a Rainbow Division veteran. An English major graduate of Seton Hall University, South Orange, he maintained a lifelong interest in languages. Mr. Pryor is survived by his sister, Margaret M. Pryor of River Plaza; four nieces, Margaret M. Pryor of South Salem, N.Y., Eileen Cotugno of Lincroft, Suzanne Woods of Harleysville, Pa., and Judy Calderone of Sea Bright; and several cousins. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank.
DAVID M. McGRATH, 80, a lifelong resident of the Cliffwood section of Aberdeen, died April 2 at home. He was a union laborer at Heavy and General Labors Local No. 472, Cliffwood, retiring at age 62. He served with the U.S. Army as a medic during World War II. He was predeceased by his brother, Leo M. McGrath. He is survived by two sisters, Catherine McGrath of Cliffwood and Augusta Vreeland of the Cliffwood Beach section of Aberdeen; and his brother, Robert McGrath of Parlin. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. Interment was at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Keyport.
