Julia Serrano Rosado
Life Dates: April 16, 1927 - September 17, 2004
Julia Serrano Rosado, age 77, died on Friday at her home in Carteret, NJ. She was born in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico and resided in Perth Amboy moving to Carteret 10 years ago.
Mrs. Rosado was a homemaker who devoted her time to her family.
Survived by: Surviving are her sons, Louis, Obdulio, Sebastian, Santo, and Louis Alberto Soto, all of Perth Amboy, Francisco Soto of North Brunswick, Ricardo Soto of South River and Salvador Soto of Keansburg and her daughters, Milagros, Lucy and Ida Soto of Perth Amboy and Carmen Soto of Newark. Also surviving are twenty-seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and her sister, Juana Serrano of the Bronx.
Visitation: Monday, September 20, 2004 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m.; Tuesday, September 21, 2004 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m.
Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Avenue, Perth Amboy, NJ.
Funeral Service: Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at La Asuncion RC Church, Perth Amboy.
Entombment will be in Alpine Cemetery, Perth Amboy.

Ada Rivera
Life Dates: April 4, 1932 - October 2, 2004
Ada Rivera, age 72, died on Saturday at her home in Perth Amboy, NJ. She was born in Puerto Rico and had resided in Perth Amboy for the last 54 years.
Mrs. Rivera was a homemaker who devoted her time to her husband and family. She was a member of the Olive Street Community Center.
Survived by: Surviving are her husband, Luis A. Rivera, her sons, Luis Jr. of San Pedro, CA, Robert of Santa Clarita, CA, and Johnny of Santa Clarita, CA, her daughters, Nancy Luces of Perth Amboy, Louisa Muniz of Carteret and Susan Aponte of Piscataway, and her grandchildren, Justin, Bryan, Arcelio, Elissa and John Alexander. Also surviving are her sisters, Estrella Albarran, Gloria Hilda Llorens and Albertina Rodriguez, her brother, Edison Rodriguez and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Tuesday, October 5, 2004 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m.
Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Avenue, Perth Amboy, NJ.
Funeral Service: Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Perth Amboy.
Interment will be at Alpine Cemetery, Perth Amboy.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: The American Diabetes Association

Vera Merlo
Life Dates: March 25, 1915 - October 11, 2004
Vera Merlo, age 89 of Woodbridge, NJ died on Monday at Briarwood Nursing Home in Sayerville, NJ. She was born and resided most of her life in Elizabeth before moving to Woodbridge in 1982.
Mrs. Merlo was a Secretary for 20 years with Topper Toy Company in Elizabeth retiring in 1970.
Her husband, Vincent Merlo who died in 1969 predeceased her.
Survived by: Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Vincent and Carole Merlo of Colonia, her daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Ronald Frank of Nazareth, PA and her grandchildren, Maryann, Janet, Susan, Steven and David. Also surviving are her great-granddaughter, Javera and her brother, Michael Caprio of Spotswood.
Visitation: Thursday, October 14, 2004 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m.
Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ.
Funeral Service: Friday October 15, 2004 at 8:45 a.m. followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. John Vianney RC Church, Colonia.
Interment will be at Rosedale Cemetery, Linden.

Robert E. McMullen
Life Dates: March 26, 1935 - October 12, 2004
Robert E. McMullen, age 69, died on Tuesday at Stillwater Medical Center in Oklahoma. He was born in Scranton, Pa. And resided in Fords for 42 years before moving to Stillwater 3 months ago.
Mr. McMullen worked for Lionel Train Company in Irvington and then with the Maintenance Department at Rutgers University retiring in 1996 after over 25 years of service. He was a member of the Fords/Keasbey Seniors Citizens and REACT.
He was predeceased by his brother, Edmund Prendergast who died in 1987 and his sisters, Beverly Lewicki who died in 2002 and Kathleen Katvara who died in 1995.
Survived by: Surviving are his brother, Joseph McMullen of Syracuse, NY, his sister, Maryellen Epplin of Stillwater, OK and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Friday, October 15, 2004 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Funeral Service: Saturday, October 16, 2004 at 8:30 a.m. followed by a 9:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Peace RC Church, Fords.
Interment will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.

Robert H. Mace
Life Dates: September 23, 1929 - September 19, 2004
Robert H. Mace, age 74 of Perth Amboy, died on Sunday at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, NJ. He was born and resided in Philadelphia, PA before moving to Perth Amboy in 1958.
Mr. Mace was the co-owner of "Automatically Yours Vending and Catering Company" in Woodbridge and Rahway retiring 10 years ago.
He was an avid golfer, winning championships in 1972 and 1974 at the Oak Ridge Golf Course. He attended Holy Spirit RC Church in Perth Amboy, and was a former Little League coach with Hopelawn Little League.
He was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Tank Division during the Korean War.
Survived by: Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Dolores Mahoney Mace, his daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Charles Bird of Jackson, and his sons, Christopher Mace of Perth Amboy, and Robert H. Mace Jr. of Florida. Also surviving are his sisters, Lily Dedrick of Barto, PA, Dorothy Hardy of NJ and Jacqueline Mace of Medford Lakes and five grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, September 22, 2004 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Funeral Service: Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at 11:30 a.m. followed by a 12 noon Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Spirit RC Church, Perth Amboy.

Marie Knudtsen Legere
Life Dates: August 5, 1934 - September 30, 2004
Marie Knudtsen Legere, age 70 of Effort, Pennsylvania, died on Thursday at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg PA. She was born in Manhattan and resided in Edison before moving to Effort in 1993.
Mrs. Legere was a clerical worker at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for 25 years, retiring in 1992.
Her husband, Almon J. Legere who died in 1979 predeceased her.
Survived by: Surviving are her sons, James J. Legere of Bound Brook, NJ and Richard A. Legere of Effort, PA, her daughter, Anne M. Eisenbeil of Henryville PA, her sister, Eleanor Shannon of West Orange, NJ and her grandsons, Richard A. Legere Jr. and Christopher Eisenbeil.
Visitation: Sunday, October 3, 2004 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Funeral Service: Monday October 4, 2004 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Matthew’s RC Church in Edison.
Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Metuchen.

Stanley J. Laurich
Life Dates: August 16, 1920 - September 23, 2004
Stanley J. Laurich, age 84 of Metuchen, died on Thursday at JFK Medical Center in Edison, NJ. He was born in Forest City, PA and resided in Linden for 40 years moving to Metuchen 5 years ago.
Mr. Laurich was an assembly line worker at General Motors in Linden for 34 years retiring in 1974. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII. He was a communicant of St Francis Cathedral in Metuchen.
Survived by: Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Vida A. Grum Laurich, his daughters, Linda Borrello of Edison and Sharon Barker of Half Moon Bay, CA, his sister, Mary Gilia of Carbondale, PA and his grandchildren, Lisa, Joseph, Tessa and Emma.
Visitation: Sunday, September 26, 2004 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Funeral Service: Monday September 27, 2004 at 9:45 a.m. followed by a 10:15 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis Cathedral.

Eleanor Kay
Life Dates: February 9, 1917 - September 30, 2004
Eleanor Kay, age 87 of Fords, died on Thursday at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, NJ. She was born in Perth Amboy and had been a resident of Fords for 52 years.
Mrs. Kay was a homemaker who devoted her time to her husband and family. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace RC Church in Fords, a member of the Woodbridge Elks Emblem Club and a member of Holy Spirit Senior Citizens, Perth Amboy.
Survived by: Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Stanley J. Kay, her sister, Irene Marie Caso of Perth Amboy and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Sunday, October 3, 2004 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m.

The Holy Spirit Senior Citizens will hold a prayer service at 3:00 p.m.

Entombment will be in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, Woodbridge, NJ.
