Life Dates: April 28, 1962 - September 24, 2004
Barbara Ann Stewart, age 42, died on Friday at JFK Medical Center in Edison. She was born in Perth Amboy and was a lifelong resident of Edison.
She was a homemaker who devoted her time to her family. She was a communicant of St. Francis Cathedral in Metuchen and a member of the Mom’s Club at St. Francis.
Barbara was an active Avon Salesperson.
Survived by: Surviving are her former husband, Donald W. Stewart of Edison, her sons, Casey Evan and Ryan Alan of Edison, her parents William F. and Frances T. Kopystecky Molnar of Edison, and her sister, Judith A. Kolodjzie of Edison.
Visitation: Monday, September 27, 2004 7:00-9:00 p.m. only
Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Avenue, Metuchen, NJ.
Funeral Service: Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at 9:45 a.m. followed by a 10:15 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St Francis Cathedral.
Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway.

Edward J. Stec
Life Dates: July 8, 1923 - September 10, 2004
Edward J. Stec, age 81 of Edison, NJ, died on Friday at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was born in North Tonawanda, NY and had resided in Edison for the past 54 years.
He was a graduate of North Tonawanda High School and received a B.S. and M.S. in Education from Bucknell University. He played on the Varsity Football Team, Varsity Baseball team and Intramural Basketball team, and served as “B” men’s counselor. He was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, Who’s Who among students in American Colleges and Universities, Omicron Delta Kappa (National Leadership Fraternity), Kappa Phi Kappa (National Education Fraternity) and Phi Alpha Theta (National History Fraternity).
Ed was a Social Studies teacher with a specialization in American History, at North Plainfield High School for 39 years retiring in 1989. He served as an assistant football coach and assistant basketball coach from 1950-1955, an assistant baseball coach from 1950-1959, and the head basketball coach from 1955-1966 at North Plainfield High school. He received the 1965-1966 Central Jersey Coach of the Year Award and Somerset County Coach of the Year Award from the New York Daily News. He served as Pool Manager for 35 years at the Plainfield Country Club, and from 1985 to the present he worked at the Middlesex County College Physical Education Center as a Lifeguard and Swim Instructor.
Ed was a member of the National Education Association, the NJ Education Association., Somerset County Education Association, Bucknell University Alumni Club of Northern NJ, the American Football Coaches Association, held a Sigma Chi life membership and received the American Red Cross 35 years service award. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace RC Church in Fords.
He was a veteran of the US Army Air Force serving as a Sergeant during WW II in Fighter Control Squadron in the U.S., New Guinea and the Philippine Islands.
He is predeceased by his daughter, Emily Jane Stec who died in 1969, his brother, Walter Wiechec and his sister, Genevieve Frys.
Survived by: Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Arlene Nemeth Stec, his nephew, Frank Sarzyniak of North Tonawanda, his nieces, Sharon Lewczyk of Cheektowaga NY, Arlene Ve Rost of Grand Island NY, and Nancy Snopkowski and Dolores Severino of North Tonawanda. Also surviving are his goddaughters, Wendy Bagdi of Toms River and Marie Olenych of Tallahassee FL.
Visitation: Tuesday, September 14, 2004 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m.
Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Ford, NJ.
Funeral Service: Wednesday, September 15, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Peace RC Church.
Burial will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia, NJ.

Edward G. Sovar
Life Dates: January 18, 1929 - October 11, 2004
Edward G. Sovar, age 73 of Edison, NJ, died on Monday at the New Jersey Veterans Home in Menlo Park. He was born in and was a lifelong resident of Edison.
Mr. Sovar was a veteran of the US Army, serving during WWII and was a member of the Clara Barton American Legion post 324 in Edison.
he was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph Sovart who died in 2002, George Sovart who died in 1996 and Michael Sovart who died in 1981, and his sister, Anna Sovart.
Survived by: Surviving are his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Robert Blanchard of Highland Park, his nephew, Kenneth Sovart and his niece, Dolores Gerba.
Visitation: Wednesday, October 13, 2004 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m.
Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ.
Funeral Service: Thursday, October 14, 2004 at 8:30 a.m. followed by a 9:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Peace RC Church, Fords.
Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Hopelawn.

Myrl M. Siggelakis
Life Dates: December 2, 1924 - September 17, 2004
Myrl M. Siggelakis, age 79 of Gibbsboro, NJ died on Friday at The Geraldine L. Thompson Care Center in Allenwood. She was born in Perth Amboy and resided in Fords moving to Sea Girt in 1999.
Myrl received a Masters Degree in Art from the Pratt Institute in New York City and went on to be an Art Teacher at the Hillel Academy in Perth Amboy for more then 20 years, retiring in 1980. Previously she had taught art in the South River public schools. She was a member of the Fords Women’s Club.
Her husband, James W. Siggelakis who died in 1999 predeceased her.
Survived by: Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Beth Ann and Michael Egan of Gibbsboro, Susan Siggelakis of Nottingham NH, Lynne E. Siggelakis of Holtwood PA, Odette A. and Russell Andrew of East Brunswick and Lora A. and Shawn Mulligan of Sea Girt. Also surviving are her sister, Janet Drummond of Clark, her cousin, Charles Hansen of Fords and her grandchildren, Emily, Gregory, Erica, Elizabeth, Jaime, Casey, Owen and Seldon.
Visitation: Tuesday, September 21, 2004 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Funeral Service: Wednesday September 22, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home, Rev. Peter Hofstra officiating.

Karla Schmidt
Life Dates: August 21, 1942 - October 4, 2004
Karla Schmidt, age 62, entered into eternal rest on Monday at her home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born in Munich, Germany, received her American Citizenship and had resided in Edison since 1969.
Mrs. Schmidt was a financial clerk at A.E.G Manufacturing Company in Somerville for 12 years. She was a member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Edison.
Survived by: Surviving are her husband of 34 years, Dieter Schmidt, her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Joyce and Stephen Weston of Howell, her mother, Karoline Hoffer Dvorak of Munich, Germany and her grandson, Lucas.
Visitation: Friday, October 8, 2004 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Margaret G. Scannell
Life Dates: September 15, 1916 - September 23, 2004
Margaret G. Scannell, age 88, died on Thursday at her home in Woodbridge, NJ. She was born in North Wilkes Boro, NC and resided in Perth Amboy then Toms River for 9 years before moving to Woodbridge 4 years ago.
She was a homemaker who devoted her time to her family. She was a former communicant of St. Mary’s RC Church in Perth Amboy. Margaret was a child care provider for 35 years.
She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Jeremiah who died in May of 2000 and her brother, Kimbure Schneider who died in 1962.
Survived by: Surviving are her daughters, Beverly Hudak of Hopelawn and Sharon Flynn of Barnegat, her grandchildren, Michael Hudak, Scott Brodine, and Sherri Eletto, her great-grandchildren, Marissa Hudak, Kaitlyn and Jeffrey Eletto and her beloved Cat Puka Head.
Visitation: Sunday, September 26, 2004 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Raul Santos
Life Dates: April 5, 1936 - October 12, 2004
Raul Santos, age 68 of Perth Amboy, NJ died on Tuesday at JFK Haven Hospice in Edison, NJ. He was born in Caldas Da Rainha, Portugal and had resided in Perth Amboy for the past 36 years.
Mr. Santos owned and operated Churasqueira Elmora Restaurant in Elizabeth, NJ for 3 years. He was one of the founders of Acuciacao Caldences Club in Elizabeth.
Survived by: Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Esmeralda Viegas Santos, his daughters and sons-in-law, Ligia and Joe Prezioso of Brick, NJ, Magdalia and Michael Manson of Belmar, NJ and Arlete and Craig Shaeffer of New Milford, CT. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Joseph Prezioso, Jr., Darian Prezioso and Cameron Shaeffer, his brother, Paul Raimundo of FL, his sister, Delminda Jacinto of Belford, NJ, his mother, Laurinda Raimundo of Perth Amboy, NJ and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Friday, October 15, 2004 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m.
