Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Mark Swan; two sisters: Edith Gerring and Martha Barton; and three brothers: Harold, James and Hugh Swan. Burial was in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Best, Walter L., 92, of Gerry, died Jan. 21, 2000. He was born June 21, 1907, a son of Floyd and Grace Bryant Best. Surviving are four sons: Richard A., Walter Kermit; Malcolm L. and Herbert L. Best; and a daughter, Harriet Schauman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ermyntrude Johnson Best. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery.
