CHILI

*** Gordon, Donald A., September 18, 2010, age 85. Survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Phyllis; daughters, Janet Bonner and Barbara Thompson; two grandchildren, Ryan (Sarah) Thompson and George Bonner II; two great-grandchildren Luke and Loui. Donald was a WWII Marine veteran. He worked for the University of Rochester Medical Center for 34 years and 16 years as a consultant in Forensic Serology.

A Memorial Service was held September 22 at the United Methodist Church of North Chili. Contributions can be made to the Church Memorial Fund, 2200 Westside Drive, Rochester 14624 in his memory.

CHURCHVILLE

*** Alexander, Gladys Balch, age 84, formerly of Bergen, an employee of Roberts Wesleyan College for 17 years prior to her retirement in 1988, died September 18, 2010 at her home in Churchville. She was a member of Pearce Memorial Church for over 55 years. Her husband, David E. Alexander, died September 20, 2004. Survivors include five sons, David D. (Barbara) Alexander of South Carolina, K. Scott (Margaret) Alexander of California, B. Bradley Alexander of Brockport, B. Todd Alexander of New Jersey, L. Lance (Kathleen) Alexander of Churchville; a daughter, Ruth A. (Mark) Logan of Churchville; sisters-in-law, Pat Balch of Florida, Kathyrn Alexander of Gerry and Lucille Alexander of Perry; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Benson R. Balch and Kenneth Balch.

Funeral Services were held September 23 at Pearce Memorial Church, North Chili. Interment, North Chili Rural Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Pearce Memorial Church, 4322 Buffalo Road, North Chili 14514 or to Aurora House, P.O. Box 21, Spencerport 14559 in her memory.

*** Hayes, William E., September 13, 2010 at age 95. Preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Eleanor. Survived by son, William Jr. (Rae Jean); daughter, Kathleen (Thomas) Etsler; daughter, Carol Hayes; nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and one great great grandson. He worked for many years at General Railway Signal Co. and with his wife, owned and operated the Avondale Restaurant in Avon. He was also a member of the Conesus Lake Sportsmen Club.

Services were held privately.

HAMLIN

*** Green, David L., On September 19, 2010 at age 59. Predeceased by his parents Gerald and Betty Green. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Linda; children, Edward, Erica (Aaron) Carlston; grandson Drew Carlston; siblings Richard (Suzanne) of Virginia, Wendy (Frank) Heine of Groton, Robert (Terry) of Locke, Susan Green of Kentucky, Diane Fenner (Carol Perez) of Ithaca, Bruce (Eiko) of Japan; uncle Robert (Sandra) Green of Fulton; many nieces, nephews and in-laws.

A Memorial Service was held September 24 at the Fowler Funeral Home Inc., Brockport. Contributions can be made to the Visiting Nurse Service Hospice or the Palliative Center for Caring in his memory.

HILTON

*** Frisbee, Etta G., September 22, 2010, age 94. Predeceased by her husbands, Rudy Jones killed Guam, 1944 and Jack Frisbee, a WWII Vet, 1992. Survived by her sister, Beatrice (Everett) Zarpentine; many nieces and nephews including Linda (Charles) Myers, Richard (Peggy Sue) Zarpentine, Eugene and Norman Hart; great-nieces and nephews, Charles Myers III, Matthew and David Myers, Kristie and Donald Grimble. Also predeceased by her brother, LaVerne Hart.

Funeral Services were held September 25 at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Inc., Hilton. Interment, West Kendall Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or Heart Association in her memory.

*** Kibby, Doris A., September 7, 2010, age 88. Predeceased by her husband, John Kibby. Survived by her children, William (Patti) Kibby of Buffalo, Judith (Steve) Lowe of Seattle, Washington and James (Linda) Kibby of Hilton; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, October 17 at 3 o’clock at Kenmore United Methodist Church, Kenmore, NY. Contributions can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or her Church Memorial Fund in her memory.

*** Mulcahy, Kevin R., September 17, 2010. Kevin is survived by his wife, Amy A. (Schmidt) Mulcahy; daughter Isabela Mulcahy; parents, Robert and Margaret Mulcahy; siblings Michael (Evelyn Laboy) Mulcahy, Brian Mulcahy, Robert G. (Colleen Doherty) Mulcahy, Gerard (Lori) Mulcahy, Patrick Mulcahy; mother-in-law, Irene Schmidt; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ellen Schmidt, William (Ellen McGrath) Schmidt, Nancy (Felix) DiCamillo, Paul (Julie) Schmidt, Steven (Maureen-Viggiani) Schmidt; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated September 23 at Holy Cross Church, Rochester. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Contributions in his memory can be made to Isabela Mulcahy, to assist with her education.

*** Neace, Pamela, Unexpectedly September 19, 2010. Predeceased by her husband, Richard; and her mom, Anita. Survived by her son, Todd (Michelle) Knowles; grandchildren, Kirsten and Kyle; sisters, Linda Freed and Gia (Nick) Bazinet; her dad, Robert Russo; nieces, Danielle and Gia; nephews, Nicholas and Charles; five great-nieces and nephews.

A Celebrate of Her Life was held September 25 at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Inc., Hilton.

*** Shaw, Richard F., September 18, 2010, age 62. Survived by his wife of 33 years, Sharon (Woods) Shaw; his son, Kevin M. (Kelli) Shaw; grandchildren, Ryan, Morgan and Madison Shaw. Predeceased by his son, Brian P. Shaw, 1996. Richard was a graduate of MCC, SUNY at Brockport and RIT. He retired from Eastman Kodak as a Statistical Engineer.

A Private Service was held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Golisano Children’s Hospital, P. O. Box 23029, Rochester 14692-3029 in his memory.

*** Timian, Teresa L., September 20, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. Survived by her husband, Daniel Timian; children, Derek Timian, Tanya (Pat) Hernandez, Danielle (Eric) Firenze and Heather (Adam) Millar; grandchildren, Michael Morris, Sabrina Firenze, Aidan and Sophia Hernandez; parents, Kenneth and Shirley Houck; brothers, Mark Houck, Brad Houck, Greg (Leslie) Houck and Scott Houck; friends and co-workers at Home Properties; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated September 25 at St. Leo’s Church, Hilton. Interment at a later date. Donations can be sent to the Pluta Cancer Center, 125 Red Creek Drive, Rochester, NY 14623 in her memory.

*** Voorhees, Shirley A., “Squirrelly Shirley, Shirley Houdini, Granny Fanny.” died September 14, 2010 at age 70. She was employed at Eastman Kodak Company from 1980-2008 - manufacturing. Predeceased by her parents, Oscar Judd, Jr. and Elaine (McNulty) Judd. Survived by children, Patricia A. Coffee (Keith), Albion, Charles R. Voorhees Jr. (Dawn), Albion, Kim M. (Gillette) Cannova (Mike), Springwater, Linda J. Weller (Mitch), Albion; grandchildren, Shannon Fair, Jennifer (Mike) Allis, Amy (Ryan) Mayes, Amanda Voorhees, Adam Voorhees, Jessica (Vincent) Shellenberger, Betsy (Ellis) Oster, Kyle Gillette, Michael Cannova II, Michael Weller, Rebeca Weller, and Jacob Weller; five great-grandchildren, Landen, Luca, Somer, Lily and Caroline. Loving bird - Crusher. Survived by sisters, Joyce (Anthony) Cancelmi, Hamlin, Ruth (Steve) Zulauf, Colorado, and brother Dan (Marge) Judd, Arizona; nieces, nephews and several great nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be held October 2 at 11 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery, 2650 Lake Avenue, Rochester. A Celebration of Life will be held October 2 at 5 p.m. at the Clarendon Recreation Hall, 16169 East Lee Road, Holley, NY 14470. Donations can be made to the Volunteer Ambulance Clarendon Fire Company, P. O. Box 136, Clarendon, NY 14429 in her memory.
