Amsterdam - Pauline C. Williamson, 81, of Wall Street, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 10, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam. She was born in Troy, NY November 8, 1927 a daughter of the late Merritt and Ruth David Waterman.

Pauline attended Draper High School in Schenectady and spent most of her life as a resident of that area. She worked at B.T. Babbate Co. in Albany until her marriage to Clifford Williamson, Sr. on June 15, 1946 who predeceased her on July 26, 1979. After getting married, Pauline then worked for several years as a File Clerk for General Electric Co. in Schenectady.

Pauline was of Lutheran faith and was a former member of the Glenville Grange #1531. She relocated to Amsterdam in June of 1996 and very much enjoyed shopping, playing BINGO and spending time with neighbors, friends and family in the area.

Her loving family includes her daughters, Dorothy Pangburn of Virginia, and JoAnn Rose of Pattersonville, her sons, Clifford Williamson, Jr. of Grafton, NH, Raymond Williamson of Amsterdam, NY and John Williamson of Albany, and her brother, Merrit Waterman, Jr. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

At Pauline's request, there will be no calling hours.
Graveside Services will take place at 2:00PM on May 9, 2009 at Knox Cemetery in Knox, NY. Contributions in Pauline's memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205.

Glenadore F. Wetterau
Born in Fort Plain, New York on Aug. 24, 1918

Glenadore F. Wetterau, 90, of West Street, Fort Plain, died peacefully Friday, February 13, 2009 at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville following a brief illness. Born on August 24, 1918 in Fort Plain, she was the daughter of the late William and Minnie Fineour Wetterau.

A lifelong area resident, Glenadore was a 1935 graduate of Fort Plain High School and later went on to attended Mildred Elley Secretarial School. She was employed for over 45 years as an office supervisor for Niagara Mohawk in Albany, retiring in 1980. Glenadore was a supporter of the Fort Plain Reformed Church, a member of the Dutch Settlers of Albany and was a member of the Daughter's of the American Revolution, Fort Plain Chapter. She was also very active with the Fort Plain Museum, serving as a Trustee and Treasurer at one time.

She was predeceased by her parents; two sisters Margaret W. Steinhaus and Charlotte M. Wetterau; and a brother, William F. Wetterau.

Her loving family includes her sister, Doris J. Wetterau of Fort Plain; three nieces, one nephew; two grandnieces; one grand nephew; and many cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted on February 16, 2009 at 1 o'clock at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie with the Rev. Nancy Ryan presiding. Relatives and friends are invited and may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at a later date in the Fort Plain Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Fort Plain Museum Endowment Fund, P.O. Box 324 Fort Plain, NY 13339.

Marlyn E. Luft
Born in Fort Plain, NY on Jan. 9, 1935

Mrs. Marlyn E. Luft, 74, of Clark Avenue, Fort Plain, died peacefully on February 10, 2009 at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown. Born on January 9, 1935 in Fort Plain, she was the daughter of the late Christian and Martha Cross Wahler.

A lifelong resident of Fort Plain, she was a 1952 graduate of the high school. She first was employed for Arkell & Smith in Canajoharie, and later became Manager of the Gift Shop at the Indian Castle rest area, on the NYS Thruway. Some of her favorite past times included talking on the phone, fishing, camping, playing bingo and traveling to area casinos. Above all, she loved and cared for her family, and will be sadly missed.

Her loving family includes, her husband Richard E. Luft, whom she married on June 18, 1955; two daughters, Jodi Crouse and her husband Dave of Burnt Hills, NY and Brenda Swartz and her companion Donald Baum; one sister, Shirley Dagner and her husband Harry of Ballston Lake, NY; one brother, Roger Wahler and his wife Judy of Tacoma, WA; seven grandchildren, Matthew Yacowenia, Evan Yacowenia, Stacey Mackes and her husband Phil, Kristina Baum, Tyler Baum, Mallory Baum and Donald Baum; one great granddaughter, Sophia; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 2 o'clock at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie with the Rev. Kenneth Dingman presiding. Interment will take place at a later date in the Fort Plain Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call beginning at 12 noon Saturday, prior to the services.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Lung Association, 61 Broadway, New York, NY 10006 or to the American Diabetes Association, 7 Washington Square, Albany, NY 12205.

Frank Gonzales

Frank Gonzales, 50, of Milton Ave, Amsterdam, passed away Wednesday February 11th, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam, NY.
Born in Amsterdam, NY on February 23rd, 1958 a son of Francisco Gonzales and Jani Montalvo. He was a lifelong Amsterdam resident and was a 1976 graduate of Amsterdam High School.
Mr. Gonzales worked for many years in Maintenance at the Fownes Brothers Glove Mill in Amsterdam retiring in 2007 from there. Mr. Gonzales was very well liked by everyone. He trusted everyone and would give them anything if they asked. He enjoyed playing darts, dominoes and pool at Slick's Place in Amsterdam. Frank also played softball in the Amsterdam Men's City League and was the manager for many of Slick's teams.
He was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam.
Frank is survived by his mother, Jani Montalvo of Amsterdam. One son, Robert Gonzales of Amsterdam, two twin daughters, Jessica and Jennifer Gonzales of Amsterdam. Four brothers, Arquelio Gonzales of Amsterdam, Wilfredo "Fred" "Gonzo" Gonzales and his wife Jean of Ballston Spa, NY, Jimmy Gonzales of Glen Burnie, Maryland, Noel Santiago Jr. and his fiancé Alison Pendergrass of Ballston Lake, NY. Three grandchildren, Jada Degroat, Anissa Rodriguez and Syris Valentine. Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was predeceased by his father Francisco Gonzales on January 5, 2005.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday February 14th, 2009 at 12:00 Noon at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Main St. Amsterdam with Father Brian List as celebrant. Cremation will take place in Vale Cemetery Crematorium, Schenectady. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday February 14th, 2009 from 9:30A.M. to 11:30A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY.

Alec G. Petrillo
Born in Amsterdam, New York on Jan. 23, 1925

Alec G. Petrillo, 84, of Caroline Street, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Amsterdam January 23, 1925, a son of the late Dominic and Carmella Napolitano Petrillo.

Alec was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Amsterdam schools. He served his country with the US ARMY during the WWII era from 1943 to 1946 and was honorably discharged. He married the former Mary Torsone in Amsterdam on April 8, 1945.

In 1960, Alec started Cross-Cuts Contracting Co. which he owned and operated for several years. He also was employed as a 4 color Pressman Foreman, with Amsterdam Printing and Litho, for over 24 years, retiring in 1983. Alec was of Roman Catholic faith and was a parishioner of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam.

His loving family includes his wife of over 63 years, Mary Petrillo of Amsterdam, two sons, Alan M. Petrillo of Tucson, Arizona and Jim Petrillo of Hagaman; grandchildren, Lisa, Joshua, Matthew and Sara; great grandchildren Ryan, Kayli, Rhea, Abrianna, Joey, Alessandra, Julianna and Raphael. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Prayer Services will be at 8:30AM on Saturday, February 14, 2009, at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 9:15AM at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, East Main Street, Amsterdam with Fr. Brian List as celebrant.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday evening from 4 until 7:00pm at the funeral home. Contributions in Alec's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
