Lillian Murray
(August 17, 1926 - August 9, 2012)

Lillian Murray passed peacefully on August 9, 2012 at her home in Kent, New York, surrounded by her beloved children and grandchildren. A guiding light and wonderful Mother of nine children, she devoted her life selflessly to the joys and dreams of her family. She was born in New York City, where she lived until moving to Kent, New York in 1969 to raise her children in the country. She was married to her devoted husband John of 64 years, until his passing in 2009. After raising her family, she ventured into the Insurance business to pass her time, and achieved success not only in managing MidState Agency, but also in establishing longtime friendships throughout her community. She never sat out volunteering for an election until her later years. Our sweet and lovely Mother is survived by her nine children; Pamela Arenson, Christine Pearson, John J. Murray, Warren Murray, Mark Murray, Bernadette Murray-Fertel, Joseph Murray, Douglas Murray and Regina Murray. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; Lindsay Arenson-Barry, Jessica Pearson, John Murray, Ashley Arenson, Stephanie Murray, Kyle Murray and John Murray. Special thanks from the family goes to her devoted nurse, Vera, who also cared for our Father in his last years. We cherished our Mother’s wit, her selflessness, her ready smile, her “I love yous” and her hugs. She was genuinely cherished by all who were touched by her generosity of spirit, her fortitude and her loving devotion to her family.
