STOCKS, SR. TINA MARIE

Sister Tina Marie Stocks, O.P., formerly Sr. Bertrand, a member of the Sisters of St. Dominic of Blauvelt, New York, for the past 63 years, died suddenly on May 29, 2008 at St. Dominic's Convent, Blauvelt, N.Y. Sr. Tina was 82 years of age. Sr. Tina was born to John Stocks and Sadie Fladd on November 24, 1925 in the Bronx, N.Y. She entered the Sisters of St. Dominic on September 8, 1944 from Our Lady of Refuge Parish, Bronx, N.Y. Sister received the Dominican habit on July 5, 1945, professed her first vows on July 6, 1946, and final vows on September 6, 1950. Sister held the B.S. in Education from Catholic Teachers College, Providence, Rhode Island, the M.S. in Education from Fordham University, and the Ed.D. in Special Education from Columbia University, N.Y.C. Sr. Tina's many years of active ministry were devoted to education at the elementary and college levels. Sister ministered in the following schools: St. Dominic's School, Blauvelt, N.Y., 1947-1948; St. Pius School, Providence, Rhode Island, 1948-1954; St. Anselm's School, Bronx, N.Y., 1954-1963; St. Luke's School, Bronx, N.Y., 1963-1967, and as Assistant and Associate Professor of Education at Dominican College, Orangeburg, New York, 1967-1995. In 1995, Sister retired from her active ministry and participated in supportive services at the Convent of St. Dominic, Blauvelt, N.Y. until the time of her death. In addition to her religious congregation, Sister is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Sr. Mary Cecilia, (Clementine) O.P., Sr. Mary Ruth, O.P., and Sr. Alice Regina, O.P. of the Blauvelt Congregation as well as Viola Edsell, and Irene Bennett and her brothers: John, Joseph and Frank Stocks. Relatives and friends can attend services at: St. Dominic's Convent, 496 Western Highway, Blauvelt, New York. WAKE: Friday, May 30, 2008 from 3-8PM. EVENING PRAYER: Friday, 6:00PM. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Saturday, May 31, 2008, 10:30AM. BURIAL: St. Dominic's Convent Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Sisters of St. Dominic, Blauvelt, N.Y. Arrangements have been made by Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service, New City, N.Y.

ARTRIP, HUGH

Hugh Artrip of Piermont, NY died on May, 2, 2008 at his home. He was 44 years old. He was born on April 29, 1964 in Nyack, NY to James and Veronica Artrip. He attended and graduated from Tappan Zee High School. Hugh served his country in the US Marine Corps from which he was honorably discharged. He was employed as the Maintenance Supervisor at Warren Hills Apartments, prior to working for Warren Hills he owned and operated H & A Tree Service. Hugh was a member of the John M. Perry Post in Sparkill, NY and was an avid hunter. He traveled the world doing what he loved to do most, hunting. Hugh is survived by his wife of 23 years Faith Artrip, a daughter Kuree Artrip and her fiancé Daniel Taddeo and a son Hugh Artrip. His mother Veronica Artrip and father Jay Artrip, a sister Jackie Hill and her husband Rod and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. Visiting is scheduled for Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Hannemann Funeral Home, Inc. in Nyack. The John M. Perry Post will hold a service at 7:15 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 10 AM at the Funeral Home with interment to follow at Rockland Cemetery in Sparkill, NY. CAMPBELL, ELIZABETH A.

Elizabeth A. Campbell of White Plains died Saturday, May 3rd at the age of 81. She was born November 25, 1926 to the late John and Emeline Twomey. She graduated from the Ursaline School and the College of New Rochelle. She also received her M.A. from University Teachers College. On October 31, 1987 she married Albert F. Campbell, he predeceases her. Elizabeth worked as a teacher for the Rye Board of Education for over 20 years. She is survived by her brothers, General David M. Twomey, USMC Ret. of Wake Forrest, NC, John J. Twomey of Conway, SC and Paul B. Twomey of Wallagrass, MA. Also surviving are 23 nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister Dr. Mary Emeline Lynch (2006). Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10:00 AM at St. Bernard's Church. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Lung Association. CHARMAK, WILLIAM G.

William G. Charmak of Ocean Pines, age 69, died Friday, May 2, 2008 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, MD. Born in New York City he was the son of the late Henry Charmak and Catherine Halvisakis Charmak. Mr. Charmak was a retired Police Officer from Pelham Manor, New York and was a New York state trooper. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ocean City, he owned and operated a pest control business in Westchester County, NY for 30 years. Mr. Charmak was an Antique car enthusiast, an avid fisherman and loved all kinds of sports. He is survived by his wife Barbara Charmak of Ocean Pines, MD, one son Dr. William Charmak of MD, and one daughter Karen A. Zaslow and husband Lawrence of Chappaqua, NY, one brother Thomas DiPietro of San Diego, CA; one sister Ann Charmak of Rye, NY, one grandson Noah Zaslow. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at First Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802. COPLE, SARA MARTELLO

Sara Martello Cople, a longtime White Plains resident, died May 4, 2008 at the age of 78. She was born April 13, 1930 to the late Carmine and Mary Caputo Martello. On April 26, 1992 she married Thomas Cople Sr., he predeceases her. Sara was employed by Secon Metals in White Plains as well as Saks Fifth Ave in hite Plains. She was a member of the Columbiettes (K of C. female organization), the Board of Elections and the Rosary Society. She was a parishioner of Holy Name of Jesus Church. She is survived by her brother Louis Martello of NJ and Philomena Otto of Deer Park, NY and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a sister Christina Mione. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 11:00am at Holy Name of Jesus Church. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. ERDMANN, RICHARD ANTON

Richard Anton Erdmann "Zeke", 83 passed away on May 2nd 2008. He was born in NYC and moved to New Rochelle NY, where he grew up and graduated from New Rochelle HS "Class of 42 ". After HS, he joined the US Army and served until the end of WWII, then went on to college at the University of Missouri and graduated with a Degree in Agriculture . He married Joan Kramer and had five children (two of whom have preceded him to heaven): Richard, Earl (d), Robert, William (d) and a daughter, Joan. He owned Schopp's Ice Cream store on North Ave. for many years before joining the Westchester Dept. of Health as a Health Inspector and retired to Phoenix, AZ in the late 1970's to enjoyed life with his family, playing the guitar and singing cowboy songs. He is survived by his former wife Joan, sons Rich and Bobby and daughter Joan and son-in-law Mike Romano, six grandkids and four great-grandkids His quick wit and great sense of humor will be missed by one and all. A Private Family Memorial Service will be held. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or Disabled American Veterans.

GANNON, MICHELINA RITA

Michelina "Mickey" was born to Placida and Antonio Perito, in the Bronx, New York, the fifth of ten children. In 1951, Mickey married John Edward Gannon (d.). Mickey worked in payroll for Sears Roebuck and later Swiss Re Holding Company in Manhattan. Mickey enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends. She moved to Yorktown Heights in 1989, where she enjoyed various groups and clubs. She was Chaplain for the Ladies Auxiliary and American Legion Post 274. In 1998, she was inducted into the Westchester County Senior Hall of Fame, for her contributions in community services. Mickey is survived by two sons, Michael (Francine) and John (Alice), four beloved granddaughters, Meghan, Laura, Sara and Alison, and by sisters, Angela and Anne and brother Vincent. Wake is Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 at Clark's Funeral Home in Yorktown Hts. Funeral Services will be held at St. Patrick's Church in Yorktown at 10 AM Monday.
