CAMPBELL, VIVIAN DAVIS

Vivian Davis Campbell died in her home in Tappan, NY Monday evening after a long illness. She was born in Alvordton, Ohio, November 24th 1915, the only child of Fred Davis, M.D., a country doctor, and Angeline Stoltz. She attended the University of Michigan and studied portrait painting in the Cleveland Art Institute. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology in George Washington University. During World War II she was an executive in the War Labor Board, and later an analyst in the Central Intelligence Agency, where she met her husband, Charles. She published her autobiographical memoir, "Love Hoped For" in 2004. In its Epilogue, she wrote: "Now hope has been retired, leaving love standing triumphant over those little graves of hurts and emotional scars of childhood. Love is no longer hoped for, it is found." She is survived by her husband. Graveside services will be held at Rockland Cemetery on Tuesday, July 29th at 11:00 a m. HANNEMANN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 88 South Broadway, Nyack, NY (845) 358-0573

CASSARINI, THOMAS J.

Thomas J. Cassarini, age 47 of New Fairfield, died suddenly on Sunday, July 27, 2008 at Danbury Hospital. He was the devoted husband of Jeanne M. (Crocker) Cassarini. Mr. Cassarini was born in Bronx, NY on August 10, 1960, son of Joseph and Anne Marie (Pucci) Cassarini. He held a Masters degree in Education as well as a Masters degree in Finance. He was a teacher at the St. Ursula Learning Center, Mt. Vernon, NY. In addition to Jeanne, his wife of 22 years, Tom is survived by his children: Thomas M. Cassarini and Christina M. Cassarini both of New Fairfield; his parents: Joseph and Anne Marie Cassarini of Scarsdale, NY; two brothers: William Cassarini of NY, NY, and Joseph Cassarini and his wife, Susan, of W.P., NY; a sister: Andrea Mancini and her husband Paulo of W.P., NY; his mother-in-law: Barbara Konitz of Hertford, NC. Tom is also survived by 2 brothers-in-law and 1sister-i n law and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at 11:00AM at St. Edward the Confessor Church, New Fairfield. Interment in Mountain View Cemetery will follow. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 29 and Wednesday, July 30 from 5PM to 8PM at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury, CT. At the request of the family, donations in Tom's memory may be made to: American Heart Assoc., 5 Brookside Dr., Wallingford, CT 06492 or to the American Cancer Society, 372 Danbury Rd, Wilton, CT 06897-2523.

DITTRICH, LENORE

Lenore Dittrich passed away peacefully at home on July 27, 2008. She was born in NYC to Anthony and Clara Romandetta on April 19, 1926. Lenore attended Hunter College and worked in Manhattan before marrying and becoming a homemaker and mother. She moved to Pearl River, NY in 1958 where she became involved in her children's activities including the Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts. She served as president of the St. Margaret's School PTA. She volunteered with many charitable organizations including the Ladies of Charity, the Columbiettes, the Altar Society of St. Margaret's Church, St. Agatha's Orphanage and was a Vatican Spokeswoman at the NY World's Fair. She moved to Nyack in 1973. Lenore is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Raymond Dittrich, her son Raymond, Jr. and his wife Bonnie, her daughter Claudia and her husband Richard, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren, as well as her brother Anthony Romandetta, Jr. She was predeceased by her brother Vincent Romandetta. Visiting will be held on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Hannemann Funeral Home, Inc. in Nyack. HANSEN, KAARE

Kaare Hansen, 74, of Yonkers, NY died on July 27, 2008. He was born in Sandefjord, Norway and immigrated to America as a teenager. He is survived by his devoted wife, Eugenia, and five loving sons Kaare (Patricia), Michael (Ann-Louise), Thomas (Catherine), Brian (Debra), and Mark (Tami), nine adoring grandchildren, his twin brother Arne, sisters Henny Henriksen and Karin Mork-Olsen, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Berit Nilsen. He worked at General Motors in North Tarrytown for 35 years until his retirement in 1994. He was an active member of Sons of Norway for over 50 years holding many offices including President and 4th Zone Director. Visitation will be held at Flynn Memorial Home Tuesday, July 29th 2-4 and 7-9pm. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery on Wednesday, July 30th. His family is grateful for all the care and support given at Memorial Sloan Kettering, St. John's Hospital, and Sprain Brook Manor. IEZZI, GRACE M.

Grace M. Iezzi, of Yonkers, on July 28, 2008. She was 82 years old. Born to Joseph and Antoinette Terlizzi Acocella. Grace was a retired bookkeeper for Otis Elevator and was a member of The St. Ann's Women's Club. Beloved wife of the late Michael. Dear sister of Anna Ennis and the late Elena Capobianco, Marie, Rita, Rocco, Charles, Alfred and William Acocella. Visitation Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at The Flower Funeral Home. Mass Thursday 10:30 AM St. Ann's Church. Entombment Mt. Hope Mausoleum.

JACKSON, THEODORA GRACE

Theodora Grace Jackson, age 84, passed away in Brewster, New York. A woman of wisdom and passionate commitment to social justice, Thea dedicated her life to advocacy with senior citizens and women in prison. Survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Bailey W. Jackson, and her children Bailey Jackson 3rd, Karen Jackson and Glenn B. Jackson, Thea also has seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Service will be held Wednesday, July 30, 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Katonah, 31 Bedford Rd., Katonah, New York 10536. Memorial gifts may be given to the Thea Jackson Memorial Prison Ministry Fund c/o First Presbyterian Church of Katonah, 31 Bedford Rd., Katonah, NY 10536.

KING, STUART

Stuart King, of Pt. Pleasant, NJ, formerly of New Rochelle, NY and Yonkers, NY, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2008. Stuart was a graduate of Gorton High School in 1966. He then obtained an Associate Degree from Westchester Community College through the Yonkers Police Cadet Program in 1968. He was a Yonkers Police Officer until 1989. For the next 15 years, he worked for P&E; Property in NYC. Stuart is survived by his beloved wife, Lynn King (nee Hoffman) and his loving children Bonnie (Christopher) Crans and Bill (Claire) King. Visitation at 107 Yonkers Ave. on Wednesday, July 30th, from 2-4PM and 7-9PM Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 31st, at 11AM at Holy Name Church, New Rochelle, NY. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Yonkers, NY.
