LUCKETT, THERESA M.

Theresa M. Luckett, 84, died July 26, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Canada, the daughter of Henry and Mary (Heaney) Daly. She came to the United States in 1954 and in the early 1960's settled in Dobbs Ferry, where she worked as Secretary to the Principal in the Dobbs Ferry Schools and as the Director of the Dobbs Ferry Employment Service. She was a faithful parishioner at Sacred Heart Church and a Past President of the Ladies Sodality. Terry was also a Trustee of the Dobbs Ferry Historical Society. Terry will be remembered for her kind and gentle spirit. She is survived by her children Vivien Tota of Fairfield, CT, Martin Luckett of Dobbs Ferry, her sister Eileen Dutton of Ontario, Canada and four beloved grandchildren, Patrick, Kathleen, Robert and Catherine. She was predeceased by her husband Vernon in 1987, her brother Henry and two sisters Margaret and Kathleen Mass of the Resurrection 11:00 am Wednesday, Sacred Heart Church. Visiting Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home. Terry wishes that friends makes gifts to Sacred Heart Church in her memory. MASKARA, GEORGE R.

George R. Maskara of Yonkers died on Sunday July 27, 2008 at age 80. Born on September 13, 1927 to George and Mary (Boretsky) Maskara in Yonkers where he was raised and educated and graduated from Saunders H.S. Mr. Maskara worked as a supervisor for the Water Treatment Plant for the City of Yonkers for over 27 years, retiring in 1987. On April 8, 1961 he married Patricia Ball in Sacred Heart Church, she survives living in Yonkers. George was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and a member of their usher society, working the 5PM Saturday Mass. He was also a member of the Catholic Slovak Club and the North Yonkers Boys and Girls Club where he was a long time coach, and was awarded "Man of the Year" award in 1980. He was an avid NY Giants and Yankee fan. He is also a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in Japan during WWII. George was also a history buff, loved working in his garden, caring for his animals and was a great athlete playing semi pro baseball for the Hollows, a member at the Chippewa Club and St. Nick's Social Club. Besides his wife Patricia, he is survived by his four children Bob (Meg) Maskara of Milford Penn., Daniel (Meredith) Maskara of Sunnyside Queens, Mark (Lisa) Maskara of Yonkers and Nancy Maskara of Yonkers. He is also the proud Grandfather to Robbie, Kristan, Markie, Dorothy and Vivien. George is also survived by two sisters Rosemary (George) Matthews and Lorraine (Michael) Kmetz both of Yonkers. He was predeceased by three brothers Richard, Gerald and Edwin and his sister Barbara Pidoto. Visiting hours will be at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on both Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Sacred Heart Church on Wednesday July 30th at 9:30AM. Interment, St. Joseph's Cemetery. McCARTHY, MARTIN P.

Martin P. McCarthy a 29-year resident of New Rochelle passed away Friday, July 25, 2008. He was 74 years old. Martin was born on February 24, 1934 in the Bronx and was the son of Martin C. and Bridgett McMann McCarthy. He was the devoted husband of Mayra de Cardenas and was married on May 20, 1979 at the Blessed Sacrament Church in New Rochelle and loving father of Francis A. McCarthy. Martin is also survived by his sister Alice McCarthy and his nephews Joseph, Gerard and Charles McGrath and Charles and Douglas McCarthy. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Mary McGrath and brother Charles G. McCarthy. Martin served honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Martin was a mechanic for the Otis Elevator Company for 34 years retiring in 1993. After retiring he was a Q.E.I. elevator inspector/consultant for the Elevator Consultant Inc. in New Rochelle. He graduated from Iona College with a Bachelors degree in Behavioral Science. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Sound Shore Medical Center. Funeral mass will be Tuesday 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Pelham Manor with interment to follow in the St. Lawrence O'Toole Cemetery in Brewster, NY. GEORGE T. Rose McGough (nee Tierney) on July 26, 2008 at age 100. Native of Corravilla Balieboro, Co. Cavan, Ireland. Beloved wife of the late Michael J. Loving mother of the late Michael J. and James B. Dear sister of the late Mariah (Sissy), Peggy and Kate. Cherished grandmother of six and great-grandmother of eight. Friends and Family may call at David J. Hodder & Son Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday 10:45 AM at St. Barnabas Church. Interment to follow at St. Raymond's Cemetery. MORSE, ALVINA

Alvina Morse of Suffern, New York passed away on Monday July 21, 2008 at the age of 98. Alvina was born on October 5, 1909 in Jersey City, New Jersey to August Ahles and Anna Irwin. Alvina worked briefly for Lightolier in the 1940's and was a homemaker for most of her life. She lived for 50 years on Staten Island before moving to Suffern last year. A member of the CYO Senior Guild on Staten Island for more than 20 years, she was a happy, easy-going person who loved to laugh. Alvina is survived by her son Frank Morse, Jr and daughter-in-law Sarita Ann of Suffern, New York, her beloved granddaughter Sarita Amy Morse of Monmouth Junction, New Jersey, and her sister Dorothy Felise of Bricktown, New Jersey. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Morse and several brothers and sisters. Visitation will be at Matthew Funeral Home, 2508 Victory Boulevard, Staten Island, New York on Friday August 1, 2008. The hours will be 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.

NICHOLS, MARY

Mary Nichols of Greenburgh, NY passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2008. The family will receive friends Wednesday July 30 from 6 to 7:25 pm at Shiloh Gospel Chapel, 31 Juniper Hills Rd., White Plains, NY. Funeral Services at 7:30 pm at the church.

OSWALD, ROBERT J.

Robert J. Oswald, 86, native of Eastchester died on July 26, 2008 in Stamford, CT. Beloved husband of Rosemary Petrucci Oswald, Devoted father of Donna Smolens and her husband Robert and Arthur Oswald and his wife Millie, Cherished grandfather of David and Jeffrey Smolens and Peter and Claire Oswald Bob was a retired firefighter with the Eastchester Fire Department serving for over 35 years. He was a veteran of WW 2 in the Army Air Corps and a member of the Keogh Council Knights of Columbus for over 50 years. Visiting at Westchester Funeral Home, Inc. Tuesday from 2-4, 7-9PM. Funeral Mass Wednesday, July 30 at 10:30AM, Immaculate Conception Church, Tuckahoe, followed by interment at Holy Mount Cemetery. Friends who wish may contribute to a charity of their choice.

Rose Alati of Yonkers, died July 24, 2008. She was 84 years old. Loving wife of Gustave. Beloved mother of Rita (William) Van Cook and Claire Alati.
