LEROY, ROSE

Rose LeRoy a long time resident of Garnerville died Saturday March 13, 2010 at Nyack Hospital. She was 80. Rose was born on January 29, 1930 in New York City to Joseph and Eufemia Ruzzi. She worked for many years at Lecthworth Village. Rose is survived by her children Valerie Epstein and Terry Short, Dr. Anthony and his wife Nancy LeRoy, Lauren and Eric McGuire, Susan and John Verrier. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Matthew Epstein, John, Samantha, Michael, Cassidy Verrier, Alexa D'Angelo, Dylan LeRoy, Nicholas and Olivia McGuire. Her brother Libo Ruzzi survives her. Rose is predeceased by her loving husband Anthony LeRoy August 4, 2008, brother Vincent December 8, 2008, sister Dorothy Ruzzi August 16, 2007. Friends may call Tuesday 2-4, 79 pm at the T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home GARNERVILLE. Rose's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:30 am in St. Gregory Barbarigo Church. MCNULTY, MARY

Mary McNulty (nee Foley) of Congers, NY, formerly of Washington Heights and Riverdale, NY, died peacefully on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at the Tolstoy Nursing Home in Valley Cottage after a long illness. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 64 years, William. Mary is also survived by her three children, Thomas and his wife Nora of Valley Cottage, NY, William and his wife Cathy of New Fairfield, CT, and Marie Muranelli and her husband Joel of Ossining, NY, seven grandchildren, Daniel, Matthew, Meghan, Thomas, Joel, Sean and Timothy as well as one great granddaughter, Shaylee Rose. The family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, March, 15, 2010 from 2-5 PM and from 7-9 PM at the Michael Higgins Funeral Home at 113 Lake Road East, Congers, NY 10920. PRITZKER, MARGARET M.

Margaret M. Pritzker (nee Winsch), of New City and formerly of Larchmont, New York, died Thursday March 11, 2010 at the age of 83, after a brief illness. She was born in Berlin, Germany in 1926, and survived World War II and the bombing of Berlin. She met her husband, Henry, while he was stationed in Berlin as a member of the United States Army. They were married on March 24, 1956, and she came to the United States shortly thereafter. She worked in the laboratories at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine prior to raising a family. Margaret enjoyed opera and musical concerts, and was an avid reader and student of history. Together with her husband she traveled the world. She was also a tireless volunteer, giving her time to Boy and Girl Scouts, Beth Emeth Synagogue in Larchmont and other organizations. She will be always remembered as a devoted mother to son, Daniel and daughter-in-law, Kathleen and daughter, Debra. She truly loved her role as "Oma" to her grandchildren, Jonathan, Rebecca, and Shannon Pritzker, and Alexis Browne. A memorial service was held on Friday, March 12, 2010 at Hellman Memorial Chapel, Spring Valley, New York. Shiva will be observed at the home of Dr. Henry A. Pritzker, 10 Kingsland Drive, New City, New York on Sunday and Monday from 7 to 9 pm. Donations in her honor may be made to a charitable organization of your choice.

SHEA OP, SISTER RITA

Sister Rita Shea, OP of Dominican Convent, Sparkill, NY, died on March 12, 2010 at Dominican Convent, 175 Route 340, Sparkill, NY. Born in Bronx, NY on September 22, 1920, Margaret was the daughter of Edward and Catherine Silber Shea. She entered the Dominican Congregation of Our Lady of the Rosary in Sparkill on July 16, 1939 from the parish of St. Luke's in the Bronx, NY and became known as Sister Rita Veronica, professing her first vows in 1941 and her final vows in 1946. Sister Rita earned a BA in English and an MA in Theology from Manhattan College in NY and an MA in Home Economics from Columbia University in NY. During her professional life, Sister Rita was an elementary and high school teacher, a Director of Religious Education and a Spiritual Director. She served in the Archdiocese of New York and in the Dioceses of Brooklyn and Syracuse. She taught at St. Mary, Fulton, NY (1941-1947); St. Catherine of Siena, NY, NY (194750); Mary Queen of Heaven, Brooklyn, NY (1950-55); Thorpe Secretarial HS, NY, NY (195567); Aquinas HS, Bronx, NY (1967-74). She was DRE in St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Mount Kisco, NY (1974-81) and at Our Lady of Good Counsel, Washington Township, NJ (1981-89). From 1989-2004 she worked in Adult Spirituality as a Spiritual Director and lecturer. In 2005 she became a resident of Siena Hall Infirmary. Sister Rita is survived by her sister, Catherine Silber, her brothers Edward and Robert Shea, her nephew, Kevin Cunningham (Teresa) and several nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel, Dominican Convent, Sparkill, NY, on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 10:30 AM. Visitation is on Monday, March 15, 2010 from 3:30-7:30 PM at the Convent, 175 Rte. 340, Sparkill, NY. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery in Sparkill. Arrangements by Higgins Funeral Home. SPANO, MARY C.

Mary C. Spano, of Yonkers, NY formerly of Harrison, passed away March 13, 2010 at age 76. Born July 1, 1933 in the Bronx to Giacomo and Flavia Basile. Mary worked for the Westchester County Department of Social Services. She is survived by her beloved husband Joseph, and cherished sisters Lucretia (Walter) Sorg and Sylvia Bufano. Visitation Sunday and Monday 6-9 PM at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME, 767 E. Boston Post Rd, Mamaroneck, NY 914-698-5968. Funeral Mass Tuesday 11 AM St. Gregory the Great Church in Harrison, followed by interment at Greenwood Union Cemetery. AUER, ERMA MARIE

Erma Marie Auer, 97, of Jacksonville, NC, formerly of Mount Vernon, NY died at her home Feb. 25, 2010. "Aunt Erma", beloved grandmother, loved one and friend. To know her was to love her. Erma lived by her faith in God and was an active and faithful member of Calvary Lutheran Church for many years. Erma loved life, her family and friends. She truly made the world a better place and touched many hearts. Erma was preceded in death by loving her husband Albert; her daughter, Bonnie Wadwick; her parents Paul and Nellie Tubandt; and two brothers, Lawrence and Donald Tubandt. Surviving are her grandson, Christopher Wadwick of Durham, NC; brother, Robert Tubandt of Minnesota; sister, Amy Avery of South Dakota; also Judith Henninger of North Carolina; William and Carole Bendlin of New York; and a number of nieces, nephews and many friends. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at Yannantuono Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at the Beechwoods Cemetery, New Rochelle, N.Y. Anthony A. (Tony) Aurrichio Jr., of Yonkers, on February 27, 2010. He was 79 years old. Tony was born on September 11, 1930 to the late Anthony and Mary Luzzi Aurrichio. Beloved husband of Natalie DeCaprio, whom he married on April 25, 1954. Loving father of Gail Burns, Lois, Lisa and Anthony (Linda) Aurrichio. Adored grandfather of Anthony Burns, Anthony, Michael and Kristen Aurrichio. Dear brother of Jean Georgeo and the late Rose Venuti. Also survived by his beloved brother-in-law & sister-in-law Dan and Anna Cialini and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Aurrichio was a PFC in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was chairman of the Conservative Party in both Yonkers and Westchester Co., the owner of Anthony Aurrichio Construction and Anthony Aurrichio Inc., and former director of Playland Amusement Park.
