Peter "Don" Haney
(July 17, 1931 - July 31, 2012)

Peter "Don" Haney, 80, of Carmel, NY passed away on July 31, 2012. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2012; at the Kent Library, 17 Sybil's Crossing, Kent Lakes, NY 10512 on Saturday, August 25, 2012 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.

LANE, MARGARET GEIST

Margaret Geist Lane, 94, died peacefully in Santa Fe, New Mexico on September 7, 2008. She was born Margaret Mary Gazlay in Toronto, Canada to Margaret Maud Murdock and A. Arthur Gazlay. After she graduated from New Tier High School in Winnetka, IL she held several jobs until her marriage to Edward George Geist in Cincinnati, OH. She then spent most of her married life in Crestwood, NY where she was a children's librarian for the Yonkers library branch in Crestwood. She was an active member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Colonial Heights. There she was a founder of the St. Martha's Guild and a Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of the Bronxville Women's Club. Upon the death of Edward Geist she married John Woodbury Lane. Upon his death, she moved to Santa Fe, NM to the El Castillo Residences. She was preceded in death by her two brothers (John and William Gazlay), her husbands and her grandson Stephen Rochester. She leaves three children, Megan Fates of East Orleans, MA, Sarah Rochester (her husband Richard) of Santa Fe, NM and Edward Geist (his wife Barbara) of Wilmington, DE. In addition, she leaves nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held September 13 at 11 AM at St. John's Episcopal Church in Colonial Heights. A graveside service will follow in the churchyard. Memorials in her name may be made to the Hospice Center, Santa Fe, NM or to a charity of one's choice.

FLOWERS, ESTHER F.

A Memorial Service for Esther F. Flowers, who passed away on August 21, 2008, will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at 11 am at the Larchmont Avenue Church, 60 Forest Park Avenue, Larchmont NY 10538. Contributions may be made in Esther's name to Planned Parenthood or the Larchmont Avenue Church.

HAUER, ROLAND J.

Roland J. Hauer of Putnam Valley, NY died Wednesday September 10, 2008. He was 65. He was born in New Rochelle, NY on November 8, 1942, the son of Isidore and Lillian Brucker Hauer. Roland served in the US Air Force. He was a retired senior vice president of the municipal bond department at PaineWebber in Manhattan. He was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Shrub Oak, NY where he sang in the church choir. On April 17, 1971 he married Loretta E. Sunkenberg in Yonkers. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Paul of Westfield, NJ, his daughters, Lisa Hauer of Patterson, NY, Emily Senese of Manhattan and Susan Rizzo of White Plains, NY and his grandchildren, Kaela, Kyle and Kolby. A dedicated and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, loved by everyone who knew him, Roland will be greatly and deeply missed. Visiting today (Friday) from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Shrub Oak. Private cremation will follow. Brandon J. Ariss
(April 7, 1983 - August 21, 2012)

Brandon J. Ariss 29, of Carmel, NY passed away on August 21, 2012. Mr. Ariss was born on April 7, 1983 to Kathleen Ariss and David Champlin. Brandon has lived in the Carmel area for the past 15 years and before that Goldens Bridge, NY. He worked in the Seafood Department at Shoprite in Carmel, NY. In addition, Brandon was also a member of the Carmel Volunteer Ambulance Corp. He is survived by his loving parents, his beloved siblings; Kaitlyn Champlin and David P. Champlin. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 24, 2012 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Cargain Funeral Homes, Inc., 10 Fowler Avenue, Carmel, NY 10512. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. James the Apostle R.C. Church, 14 Gleneida Avenue, Carmel, NY 10512. Interment to follow at Raymond Hill Cemetery.

KITTRICK, VERONICA "RONNIE" A.

Of Pawling, New York and also of Venice, FL died peacefully surrounded by family Tues, Sept. 9, 2008. Ronnie was born in Manhattan, NY on March 24, 1925, daughter of the late Mary "May" and John Gately. On November 4, 1947 Ronnie married Daniel M. Kittrick at St. Peter and Paul, Bronx, NY. She was school secretary at All Hallows Elementary Day and High School and worked at Readers Digest, Pleasantville, NY. She is survived by three children Kathleen McMahon, Christopher Kittrick and Maureen Grande, two sisters Elizabeth Kelly and Geraldine Hunt along with four grandchildren. She is predeceased by husband Daniel Kittrick and children Eileen and Thomas Kittrick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Johns Roman Catholic Church, Pawling on Fri, Sept. 12 at 10 AM. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Horn & Thomes, Inc.

LAKE, FRANK BERRISFORD

Frank died Monday September 8, 2008 at the age of 88. Born in New York City on September 25, 1923 to Edmund and Modestine Lake. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He was married to the late Sarah Lee who died in August on 1999.Frank is survived by his daughter Adrienne Linda Lake and a son Edwin Berrisford Lake. A private Religious Service was held on September 9, 2008. Interment at Kensico Cemetery.

Joseph Hernandez
(April 3, 1935 - August 21, 2012)

Joseph Hernandez, 77, of Baldwin Place, NY formerly of the Bronx, NY passed away on August 21, 2012. Mr. Hernandez was born on April 3, 1935 to Mercedes and Maria (Aponte) Hernandez in Puerto Rico. He proudly served his Country with US Army from 1953 - 1957. On June 21 1958 he married Rose Fernandez at St. Cecilia Church. He worked for Sears Robuck Company in the Bronx, NY as an Auto Mechanic before he retired.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife Rose, his beloved son Eric, his two adoring grandchildren; Joseph and Christopher, his brother Rafael and his sisters Anna, Ester, Ida and Carmen Ines. Visitation will be on Friday, August 24, 2012 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Cargain Funeral Homes, Inc. 418 Route Six, Mahopac, NY 10541. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s The Evangelist R.C. Church, 225 East Lake Blvd., Mahopac, NY 10541. Interment to follow at Ferncliff Cemetery, 280 Secor Road, Hartsdale, NY 10530
