Robert J. Gallo, 78, died peacefully in North Carolina on November 16th.
Bob Gallo was a nationally acclaimed stone mason until his recent retirement, having been honored by the Architectural Digest magazine and the Westchester Art Society. As a specialist in artistic residential masonry, his clients include a who’s who among the business and entertainment communities. Bob loved children, loved to laugh, and was proud to be an Italian American who made many contributions to the Lewisboro community. An avid member of the Lewisboro Lions Club and the Italian-American Club, Bob and his business, Gallo Stone Company, were generous contributors of both time and money to the betterment of the community. Over the years he coached soccer and basketball, raised funds for the Heart Association and the Kidney Foundation, etc. His hobbies included travel, sculpting and palette knife paintings. In his youth he played basketball in college and he briefly played professionally. Bob is survived by his wife, Penni Gallo, his daughters Diane Gallo Ryder and Shanon Alves, and his son Colin Logue, as well as 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert J. Gallo, Jr. His funeral services will be handled by Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY, with viewing on Sunday, November 22nd from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm; and services at the funeral home on Monday, November 23rd at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at the South Salem Cemetery.

Gibson, Robert H., Jr., age 79, of Bedford Hills, died Sunday, March 1, 2009 at Somers Manor Nursing Home, Somers. Bob was born September 26, 1929 in Mount Kisco, NY, the son of the late Robert H. and the late Frances (Killarney) Gibson, Sr. He was a US Navy veteran serving from 1947 to 1951.
He was as a Milkman for Crowley Milk Co., in Cortlandt, NY. Bob is the beloved husband of Barbara (Graham) Gibson, Jr. for 56 years and loving father of Joanne Fava and her husband, Steve of Bath, ME; Patricia Newman and her husband, Thomas of Somers, NY; Nancy Asaro and her husband, Richard of Mt. Kisco; Robert Gibson, III and his wife Debbie of Pawling, NY and Laura Gibson of Bedford Hills also survived by seven grandchildren. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00pm at Clark Associates Funeral Home, Katonah, NY.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 11:00am at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Katonah. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Somers
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Hayes, Gary L. age 59, a lifelong resident of Katonah, NY, died Sunday, April 26, 2009 at Northern Westchester Hospital Center, Mount Kisco. Gary was born Sept. 12, 1949 in Mt. Kisco the son Leslie and Mary (Miller) Hayes. Gary was a 1967 graduate of John Jay High School and graduated from SUNY Delhi, NY. He was employed by the Town of Bedford as the Highway Superintendent for 20 years, retiring in April 2007. Gary was a 42 year member of the Katonah Fire Department. In 2008 he received the Michael J. Vuotto Distinguished Service Award. He was also a 20 year treasurer of the Benevolent Association. He was a founding member of the Bedford – Katonah Hockey Association. Gary is survived by his mother, Mary his Brother, Mickey Hayes and his wife Lauren of Goldens Bridge, NY and his sister, Lauren Jarmoszko of Montville, NJ. Also survived by several Aunts, nieces, nephews, great nieces, one great nephew and two godchildren.
He was pre deceased by his father, Leslie. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 1:00 to 3:00pm and 5:00-9:00 pm at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY. The funeral will be Thursday at 11:00 am at The Katonah United Methodist Church, 2 Bedford Road, Katonah. Burial will follow at the Bedford Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Katonah Fire Department Benevolent Association.

Jacobowitz, Elaine H. , age 68 of Katonah, NY died Sunday, February 1, 2009 at home.
Mrs. Jacobowitz was born in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of Philip and Elsie (Greengold) Shadlen.
She was an active member of the Lewisboro Seniors.
She was the wife of the late, Ira Jacobowitz who died in 2003.
She is the Loving mother of David of Syracuse, NY; Richard of Elmsford, NY and Robert of Katonah, NY, Sister of Leslie Shadlen of PA.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 11:00 am at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah.
Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Mt. Kisco.

Karlovich, Joseph J., age 62, of Katonah, died Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at home. He attended John Jay High School. Joseph was employed by St. Agnes Hospital in White Plains, NY, as a maintenance engineer for 38 years. He was an avid fan of the NY Yankees and loved music and was a DJ for many parties and family events. Joseph was the beloved father of Joseph D. Karlovich and was a member of the Vogler family of Katonah since he was nine years old and is survived by his sister, Carol Kiley and her husband, Sonny and their children, Thomas and Joseph and grandchildren. Calling hours will be Friday, September 25 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00pm at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, September 26 at St. Mary Of The Assumption R C Church, Katonah, NY.
Burial will follow in Amawalk Hill Cemetery.

KERN, MABEL (Flacksenburg), daughter of Louise Shellard and William Flacksenburg, died on November 15, 2009.
Mabel was predeceased by her husband, Frank; her son, Frank and her brother, Bill.
She is survived by her daughters, Fran Manning and Louise Moore and 14 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.
Mabel was born in Williamsburg and raised her family in Ridgewood and Glendale before retiring to Lewisboro, NY.
Her hobby was crocheting beautiful afghans for all her family and friends; each one was made with love and prayers.
Mabel was active in The Cross River Baptist Church and for many years the Lewisboro Seniors.
She will be remembered for her constant, quiet presence and her unconditional love of family and friends.
The family will receive friends at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY on Friday, Nov. 20, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
The service will also be held at the funeral home on Friday evening at 8:00pm. The following day, Sat., Nov. 21 committal prayers will be said at the funeral home at 9:00 a.m. followed by the burial at Cypress Hills Cemetery in Brooklyn, NY.

Krings, Edith B., of Somers, NY, died Sunday, April 5, 2009. She was 89 years old. Born July 14, 1919 in New York City, the daughter of the late Charles and Beatrice (Prochazka) Zeman, she married George Krings on June 3, 1944. Edith is survived by her beloved husband, their son Kenneth C. Krings, his wife, Meg Wittner Krings and grandson Cooper Krings of Studio City, CA. and her nephew, William C. Masters of Katonah. She is pre-deceased by her loving son, Roy G. Krings. The graveside service will be at Ivandell Cemetery, Route 202, Somers on Thursday at 11:30 am.

Krings, George of Somers died Sept. 9, 2009 at Somers Manor Nursing Home. He was born Sept. 15, 1916 in Astoria, NY, the son of George E. and Lillie Ruzicka Krings.
A Purple Heart recipient, seriously wounded and among a handful of survivors when the minesweeper USS SKILL was torpedoed by a Nazi sub during the invasion of Italy, he never complained of his injuries and was grateful for every day that followed.
In 1946 he resumed his career as a Marine Insurance underwriter and broker in New York. He retired from Johnson & Higgins in 1980 and was a founding partner and consultant to Zeman Krings Intermediaries until 1990. He was a man of great integrity, a truly honest broker, proud of his work and trusted by all.
He is survived by his son, Kenneth C. Krings, daughter-in-law, Meg Wittner Krings and grandson, Cooper Krings, of Studio City, CA; and nephew William C. Masters of Katonah, NY. George was pre-deceased by his wife, Edith B. Krings on April 5th and his dear son, Roy, in 1991.
A graveside service will be held on Tues., Sept. 15, 2009 at 10:00 a.m at Ivandell Cemetery, Somers, New York.

Laquidara, Joan, 75, of South Salem, NY, a former long time resident of Mahopac died Sunday, March 1, 2009 at Northern Westchester Hospital Center, Mount Kisco. Mrs. Laquidara was born in NYC, the daughter of Nicholas and Vivian LaTempa. She was the Director of House Keeping at Sarah Neuman Center for Healthcare in Mamaroneck for 20 years. Joan loved to cook for her family and friends and she will be dearly missed at Christmas Eve celebrations. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren in their sporting activities. Joan was the beloved wife of the late Salvatore and is the loving mother of Robert and his wife Jan of South Salem and Stephen and his wife, Lisa of Mahopac, NY. She is the devoted grandmother of Dana, Max and Teddy and loving sister of Florence Devenuto of Yorktown, NY and Arthur LaTempa of Hopewell Junction, NY. Calling hours will be Thursday from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00pm at Clark Associates Funeral Home, Katonah, NY. The funeral will be Friday at 11:00 am at St. John's Episcopal Church, 82 Spring Street, South Salem with Rev. Lynn Harrington officiating.
Entombment will follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Putnam Valley, NY.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital.
