AGOSTA, GLORIA

Gloria Agosta, of Boca Raton, FL, formerly of Peekskill, passed away on January 24, 2008, she was 76. She was born in Peekskill, on February 4, 1931. Gloria was a graduate of Peekskill High School, class of 1949. On February 12, 1950, she married John S. Agosta at the Assumption Church. She retired in 1986 from General Foods. In 1990, Gloria and her husband moved to Boca Raton. She is survived by her husband John S. Agosta of Boca Raton; six sons, John of Poughquag, James, Jeffrey, Joseph and Jay, all of Peekskill and George of Stormville, and a daughter, Tina Marie Kirk of Leesburg, FL. Also survived by, eleven grandchildren, one great granddaughter; two brothers, John Galati of Penn Valley, CA and Alfred Galati of Lake Havasu, AZ. Predeceased by two brothers, Salvatore and Pat Galati and two sisters, Genevieve Mastracchio and Margaret Scaramellino. Visitation is Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the JOSEPH F. NARDONE FUNERAL HOME, Peekskill, NY. The Funeral Mass is Wednesday, 10 am, at Assumption Church. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. JOSEPH F. BARNETT, JOSEPH W. JR. "BEAR"

Joseph W.Barnett Jr., "Bear", died peacefully on January 20th, 2008 at the age of 70. He was a graduate of Rye Country Day School, The Hotchkiss School, Yale University and University of Virginia Law School. He also attended Columbia University Graduate School. Bear served honorably as a Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. He was a lawyer and Partner at Badger, Fisher, Cohen and Barnett, and most recently served as a Consultant and Legal Advisor. Bear is survived by his children, Alexis Barnett and Duke Barnett and grandchildren, Charlie Howard and Reese and Tyler Barnett. We will miss him dearly. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation For Parkinson's Research at www.donations@mjff.o rg.. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, January 30th, 11:00 am at Christ's Church in Rye, New York.

BUSCH, MICHAEL J.

Michael J. Busch, 47, a native of Peekskill, went away to his creator on January 20, 2008. He lived most of his life in Peekskill, and spent 19 years in Sharon Springs, NY with his wife and four children. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He is survived by his wife Margaret M. (Byrnes) Busch, sons Michael Jr. (Kayla Anne) Busch, and Robert J.M. Busch, daughters Andrea M. Busch (Juston Redmond) and Kristol M. Busch (Casey Roe), sisters Dorothy (John) Kelliher, Diane (Willie) Kozelouzek and Gloria (David) Costello, and granddaughters Alexis Marie Redmond, Aaliah Marie Roe, and Sophia Anne Busch, along with several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at the E.O. CURRY FUNERAL HOME, on Tuesday January 29 from 9 to 10:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of The Assumption. RAYBIN, LOUISE K.

Louise Helen Kramer Raybin, beloved mother, daughter and friend, passed away on March 9, 2016 after a brief illness. She was 87 years old. A lifetime resident of Westchester County, Louise was born and raised in Scarsdale, NY and spent the last 51 years living in Ossining. After attending Columbia University undergraduate and Manhattanville College for graduate school, Louise worked as a teacher and then for the County of Westchester. She was an active member of the community working as a volunteer at Phelps Memorial Hospital for over a decade, volunteering on election night at the polls, worked as a literacy volunteer and until recently joined fellow Red Hat members on outings and various cultural events. She loved the arts, devouring literature, theater and films whenever she could and was a diehard sports fan that enjoyed nothing more than watching her favorite college teams compete. Louise is survived by her sons Jack Raybin of Manhattan and Marc Raybin of Great Neck New York. The family will receive friends Sunday March 13th from 11am-12pm at Leach & Thomas, Inc. 32 State Street Ossining where a Service will begin at 12pm, Rabbi Stephen Kane officiating.

DiSISTO, ALBERTO

Alberto DiSisto, 89, of Ossining, died Feb. 22, 2016. He leaves behind to cherish his precious memory his wife of 63 years Yolanda, his son Alberto (Susanna), daughter Monica DiSisto-Watkins (Sulani), brother Ricardo, sister Asunda Velardo (Nicola), grandchildren Aaron, Esteban, Jacqueline, Domenica, great-granddaughter Isabella and a host of nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brother Michael and sister Emma Santucci. On Sept. 22, 1926, he was born to Pedro & Carmela (Calandrello) DiSisto in Sassinoro, Italy where he grew up. As a young adult he lived in Montevideo, Uruguay before moving to Ossining, NY. Alberto worked as a mason/contractor for many years. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who looked forward to Sunday meals with his family. He started and ended his days in his vegetable garden, loved to fish, enjoyed playing bocce on Sundays and card games with his siblings on the weekends (sometimes weeknights too). Alberto will be reposing Friday 2-4 & 6-8pm at Leach & Thomas, Inc. 32 State St. Ossining. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday 10AM at St. Ann’s Church, interment St. Augustine’s Cemetery.

CAPPELLO, LILLIAN

Lillian Cappello of Palm Coast, formerly of North Tarrytown, died suddenly on February 2, 2016, she was 80. She was born October 25, 1935 to Michael & Lillian Jussay. Lillian worked in Administrative Support positions for Duracell, Union Carbide, Painters Union and Morgantown, NC Tax Office. She was pre-deceased by her husband John. Lillian is survived by her sons John (Laura) of Palm Coast, David (Christina) of Wappingers Falls, Paul (Jennifer) of Sleepy Hollow, daughter Michelle (David) of Palm Coast, 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and her sisters Lois Porcello & Joan Astuto (Jim). A memorial wake will be held Wednesday February 24, 2016 from 2-4pm & 6-8pm at Leach & Thomas, Inc. 32 State Street Ossining. Graveside Service Thursday February 25, 2016 at 11:30am at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to American Heart Association appreciated.

DIFFLEY, PHILIP GERARD

Philip Gerard Diffley, loving husband and devoted father passed away peacefully on January 25, 2008 at his home in New City after a long and courageous battle with ALS. Phil was born on July 7, 1961 and grew up in New City. Phil is survived by his wife, Eileen (Donoghue), their five children Philip, Sean, Kurt, Katilyn and LeeAnna. He will also be dearly missed by his parents Jim and Ann, siblings Jim and Sally Diffley, Kevin Diffley, Steve and Marie Diffley, Terry and Constance Diffley, Mary Diffley, John and Marcia Diffley, and his in-law's Anne Donoghue, Kathy and Skip Gremli, Danny and Carolyn Donoghue, Marianne Donoghue and many loving nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors and up and coming soccer stars that he has coached through the years. Phil worked as contractor specializing in home improvements and many families in Rockland have examples of his craftsmanship. He was an accomplished soccer player, winning soccer coach, skilled craftsman and proficient skier. For many years he coached a winning youth soccer team even through his illness when he had no physical or verbal capabilities. He graduated from Albertus Magnus High School in 1979 and SUNY Cortland in 1983. Phil's favorite sport was soccer and he starred on many top quality teams including the Clarkstown Sports Club, Rockland Rowdies, Cortland State, the Sportsfriends Soccer Club and New Jersey Stallions. He was known for his big brown eyes, charming smile, oft times booming voice and laughter that reflected the truly big spirit he had inside. His children would tell you, he was a great dad, a tremendous soccer player and super coach. He was the best! Family will receive friends on Monday 7-9 and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday at 11am at St. Anthony's Church in Nanuet, NY. MICHAEL J. HIGGINS FUNERAL HOME, New City (845) 634-6110
