BURGER, DEACON CHARLES H.

Deacon Charles H. Burger, Jr., a former resident of New Rochelle, died January 3, in WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh, NC. He was 57. Deacon Burger, a resident of Hillsborough, NC, died of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on December 25, 2006, on U.S. 64/264, east of Raleigh. His wife, Barbara, 57, a native of Lafayette, NY, and son Ivan, 20, of Hillsborough, died shortly after the crash. The Burgers were on their way to a Christmas Day celebration at the home of a daughter, Julia Newton, of Wilson, NC. A sport utility vehicle traveling in the opposite direction lost control and crossed the divider, striking the Burgers' car, which was driven by Deacon Burger. Born in New York City May 28, 1949, Deacon Burger graduated from Holy Family School in New Rochelle and New Rochelle High School. He earned a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the State University of New York College of Forestry in Syracuse in 1971. While on a student exchange program in Guatemala, he became engaged to Barbara Ann Sheremeta, who was also a student in the landscape architecture program. The couple married January 23, 1971. In addition to Julia, the couple are survived by a son, Jeremy, of Raleigh; a daughter, Sylvia Donovan, of Edgewater, MD, and a granddaughter, Flora Newton, 6, of Wilson. The Burgers were longtime members of Saints Cyril and Methodius Byzantine Catholic Church in Cary, NC, and were instrumental in its founding. Bishop Andrew Pataki of the Byzantine Ruthenian Eparchy of Passaic, N.J., ordained Charles a deacon of the Catholic Church in Cary on January 8, 2005. As a deacon, he assisted at liturgies, preached the Gospel and assisted those in need. By profession, he was a landscape architect. After working for firms in New York State, Montreal and Raleigh, he began his own practice in the late 1990s. His expertise included residential landscape architecture and park design. He also taught landscape architecture at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana and at North Carolina State University, where he earned a Master of Landscape Architecture degree in 1980. Among his many loves were hiking and travel, particularly in New York's Adirondacks, instrument building and amateur radio. His ham radio call letters were WB2HZY. Deacon Burger is also survived by his mother, Patricia Burger, of New Rochelle; two brothers, Stephen, of Warwick, NY, and John, of Hamden, CT, and three sisters, Joan Burger and Elizabeth Burger, of New Rochelle, and Mary Masson, of Shelburne, VT. Deacon Burger was pre-deceased by his father, Charles H. Burger, in 1997. There will be a wake at Walker's Funeral Home in Hillsborough on Saturday evening, a wake and service at Saints Cyril and Methodius Church in Cary on Sunday evening, and a funeral at the church on Monday, January 8, at 9:30 a.m. A funeral for Barbara and Ivan was held December 30. All three will be buried in Syracuse, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church Mortgage Fund of Saints Cyril and Methodius Church, 2510 Piney Plains Rd., Cary NC 27511, and Historic Preservation North Carolina.

CANCRO, JEANETTE (NEE LEO)

Jeanette Cancro, (nee Leo), on January 4, 2007. She was 78 years old. Mrs. Cancro was a Yonkers resident for over 50 years. Born to Louis and Theresa Ottobre Leo in NYC. Mrs. Cancro was an Insurance Broker and worked for Palmer-Tanno Agency in Bronxville, before her retirement. Beloved wife of Michael Donald Cancro, to whom she has been married to for over 55 years, marrying in 1951. Dear mother of Steven (Lidia) Cancro, Carol Cancro and Janice (William) Coleman. Sister of Jack Leo and the late Lucy Merola, Angela Hilditch, Elizabeth Novick, Pearl DiGiorgio, Portia Claps and Anthony Leo. Adored grandmother of four. Arrangements entrusted to Flower Funeral Home, with visitation Saturday, 7 to 9 PM and Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Mass Monday 10:00 AM, Church of St. John the Baptist. Interment Mt. Hope. ANGELOVICH, STEPHEN J.

Stephen J.Angelovich, Jr., of Yonkers, died on Thursday, January 4, 2007, at the age of 44. He was born December 22, 1962 to Stephen and Ann (Sklar) Angelovich in Yonkers, where he was raised and educated. He attended Sacred Heart High School, and Manhattan College where he received his B.E.E. in Engineering and R.P.I. where he received his Masters in Engineering and Computer Science. Mr. Angelovich worked as Vice President of On-Air Systems for NBC in New York City for the last eleven years. On March 28, 1987 he married Veronica Pecoraro in Sacred Heart Church, she survives. Stephen was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, former board member of Hilltop Assoc. and was the family "photographer" he loved taking pictures. Besides his wife Veronica, he is survived by his mother, Ann (Sklar) Angelovich . His father predeceased him in 1990. Stephen has three children, Kimberly, Stephen III, and Natasha, all of Yonkers, his brother Michael of Pleasantville, his sister, Joann Chalmers of Schwenksville, PA, and his niece and God Daughter, Grace Chalmers, also survived by his aunt Sr. Margaret Angelovich. Visiting hours will be at the Whalen and Ball Funeral Home on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church on Monday, January 8, at 9:30 AM. Interment to follow at the St. Joseph's Cemetery. Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., 149 Madison Avenue, NYC 10016 in Stephen's memory. BARNETT, MARIAN

Marian Barnett, 89, formerly of Yonkers, passed away on November 14, 2006 in Townsend, GA. Marian is predeceased by her beloved husband Charles Leo Barnett (July 7, 1987). She is survived by her loving son C. Russell Barnett and his wife Kim and her cherished grandchildren Amy and Scott. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated for Marian on January 10, 2007 at 10 am at St. Mary's Church in Yonkers with Interment of her cremains to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. GILLEAUDEAU, JOSEPH ALFRED

Joseph Alfred Gilleaudeau, Jr., 89, husband of the late Louise Shanahan Gilleaudeau, passed away January 4th in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. Born October 26, 1917 in Brooklyn, NY, Mr. Gilleaudeau was the son of the late Joseph A. Gilleaudeau and Genevieve Ebbets Gilleaudeau, daughter of Charles H. Ebbets, owner and manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers. A resident of Rye, NY from 1932 and 1953 and 1962 to 1986, Mr. Gilleaudeau lived in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, until his death. Mr. Gilleaudeau was a graduate of the St. George's School of Newport, Rhode Island in 1936 and of Princeton University, Princeton, NJ in 1940. A World War 11 US Army Veteran, Mr. Gilleaudeau was employed by W.R. Grace both prior and subsequent to his military service. From 1953 to 1972, Mr. Gilleaudeau worked for Publication Corporation where he served as Corporate Secretary and oversaw Labor Relations. Joseph Gilleaudeau was a member of the Newtown American Legion's Post, the Ancient Order of Hibernians of Bucks County and the Irish Wolfhound Club of Delaware Valley. He was past president of the Irish Wolfhound Club of America and New England. Additionally, Mr. Gilleaudeau was a parish member and past Eucharistic Minister of St. Martin of Tours Church, New Hope, PA. Mr. Gilleaudeau is survived by his children: two daughters Gale Stafford of New Canaan, CT and Aimee Lundy of Cincinnati, Ohio; a son Joseph Randolph Gilleaudeau of Middletown, CT. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Duncan Stafford, Geoffrey Stafford, Meredith Stafford, Michaela Lundy, Meghan Lundy, Ryan Gilleaudeau and Taylor Gilleaudeau. Friends and relatives are invited to visitation at the William H. Graham Funeral Home, 1036 Boston Post Road, Rye, NY 10580 on Monday evening, January 8th from 7 to 9 pm. A private family service will be conducted on Tuesday, January 9th at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY. A Memorial Mass is planned for a later date in New Hope, PA.

HART, KENNETH M.

Kenneth M. Hart, born July 12, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY, died Thursday, January 4, 2007. Beloved husband of Patricia, devoted father to Lynne and stepdaughter, Maria and grandfather to Siobhan, Ryanne, Mercedes, and Teon. Ken resided most of his life in Rockland County, NY where he was President of the Normandy Village I Condominium for the past thirty-five years. Ken was an active member of the Rockland County Democratic Party and ABSL. Visiting Monday 2-4 and 7-9 pm and Services Tuesday at 10 am, both at Hanneman Funeral Home, Nyack, NY. Burial will follow at Rockland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to The Friends of The National Parks at Gettysburg. KESSLER, SYLVIA B.

Sylvia B. Kessler, of Ewing Township, NJ, an elementary school teacher over 40 years, died Saturday in the Greenwood House. She was 98. Born in Port Chester, NY she resided there most of her life before moving to Ewing Township ten years ago. Mrs. Kessler was a graduate of the New Paltz Normal School and Columbia Teachers College where she earned her Masters degree in elementary school education. She was a life member of Hadassah, a member of B'nai Brith, JWV Womens Auxiliary, NY Retired Teachers Association and Congregation Kenesis Tiffereth Israel in Port Chester. Daughter of the late Israel and Gussie Black, sister of the late Nathan and Benjamin Black and wife of the late Alexander Kessler, she is survived by a brother David B. Black of Yardley, PA, two nephews Bruce and Frederic Black, two great-nieces Madeline and Melanie Black. Funeral Services and burial are Monday 12 pm at Riversville Cemetery, Greenwich, CT. Memorial contributions may be offered to Greenwood House, 53 Walter Street, Ewing, NJ 08628. Funeral arrangements by Orland's Ewing Memorial Chapel, 1534 Pennington Road, Ewing Township, NJ.
