MANSFIELD, SUSAN M.
Susan Munday Mansfield, a lifelong resident of Ossining died at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY on March 28, 2009. She was 51 years old. Susan was born November 30, 1957 in Bronxville, NY to William Munday and Catherine Thompson. Susan is survived by three beloved sons, Matthew Mansfield of Croton, Ryan and Mark Aleman both of Mahopac; two loving sisters, Cheryl Rounds of Ossining, Patricia Munday of Jacksonville Beach, FL and Jeffrey Munday of Inverness, FL her brother. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, one daughter in-law and a great deal of extended family. Calling hours will be Thursday 2-4 & 7-9pm and Friday 6-8pm at Leach & Thomas Funeral Home 32 State Street Ossining, NY. Services will be held at Leach & Thomas between 7-8pm on Friday, internment to be private. The family requests donations to the American Red Cross or New York Firefighters Burn Center in the Name of Susan M. Mansfield.

ZAVARELLA, JOSEPH A. Jr.
Joseph A. Zavarella Jr. of Yorktown Heights died March 29, 2009 at Northern West. Hosp. He was born July 13, 1936 in Ossining to Joseph & Maria Carducci Zavarella. Joseph was a veteran of the US Army as a Training Instructor in the Artillery Division. He worked as an educator for over 29 years retiring from the Hendrick Hudson Schools. Joseph is survived by his wife Mildred, daughter Laurie Ann Wagner (Mark), brother Anthony Zavarella (Ida) and sister-in-law Sylvia Zavarella. He was pre-deceased by his brother Louis. Joseph will be reposing Tues. 2-4 & 7-9PM at Leach & Thomas, Inc. 32 State St. Ossining . Mass of Christian burial Wed. 10 AM at St. Ann ’s Church, burial Rose Hill Memorial Park.

MANICCHIO, MARIO
Mario Manicchio of Ossining died March 26, 2009, he was 68. He was born Apr. 8, 1940 in Castlemauro, Italy. Mario worked as a welder for Paragon Aquatic. He was a communicant of St. Ann’s Church and a member of the Columbus Lodge #695. Mario is survived by his wife Teresa, son Mario Anthony Jr., grandson Aaron sister Vanda and many cousins. He will be reposing Sun. 2-4 & 7-9PM at Leach & Thomas, Inc. 32 State St. Ossining. Mass of Christian burial Mon. 10AM St. Ann’s Church, burial St. Augustine’s Cemetery.

STRATTA, FILOMENA "PHYLLIS"
Phyllis Stratta of Yorktown died peacefully on March 21, 2009 at home. She was born Mar. 4, 1938 in the Bronx. Phyllis worked as a purchasing agent for the Glen Island Casino. She is survived by her son Phil Ombres of New Rochelle and grandchildren Amanda, Noel & Nicholas. She was pre-deceased by her daughter Dina Marie. She will be reposing Wed. 2-4 & 7-9PM. Mass of Christian burial Thurs. 10AM at St. Augustine’s Church, burial Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

CARCOVA, VICTOR
Victor Carcova, formerly of Ossining died Mar. 19, 2009 in Brentwood, CA, he was 95. He was born Feb. 22, 1914 to Michael & Anna Carcova. He served in the US Army during WWII. Victor was a POW and received a Purple Heart. He worked for the VA in Montrose as a Therapist. He is survived by his sister Virginia Abrew of Brentwood, CA. Mass of Christian burial Thurs. 10AM at St. Ann’s Church, burial St. Augustine’s Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Leach & Thomas, Inc. 32 State St. Ossining, NY 10562.

GIANNELLI, VIVIANNA
Vivianna Giannelli of Cortlandt Manor died March 22, 2009 at the West. Medical Center, she was one month old. She was born Feb. 18, 2009 to Vito and Lucianna Velardo Giannelli. Vivianna is survived by her parents, brother Vito, grandparents Claudio & Maria Velardo, Vito & Edilma Giannelli and Anna Caputo. Friends may gather Tues. 9-11AM at Leach & Thomas, Inc. 32 State St. Ossining. Mass of Christian Burial St. Ann’s Church at 11:30AM, burial St. Augustine’s Cemetery. TAVANO, HELEN
Helen Tavano of Ossining died peacefully on March 17, 2009 at home.. She was born Oct. 5, 1925 to Paul & Julianna Sullivan. Helen graduated from OHS in 1944. She retired as a secretary from Sing Sing in 1973. She is survived by her husband Gregory, sons Gregory (Marcia), Stephen, Paul (Kathy), brothers James & Paul Sullivan, 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She will be reposing Fri. 2-4 & 7-9PM at Leach & Thomas, Inc. 32 State St. Ossining. Mass of Christian burial Sat. 10AM at St. Augustine’s Church, burial St. Augustine’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Phelps Hospice or American Heart Association appreciated.

RODE, FRANK J.
Frank J. Rode of Palisades died March 12, 2009 at the age of 88. Frank was born Oct. 17, 1920. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the Army-Air Corps. Frank was a partner/architect for BRC in Elmwood, NJ. He and his wife Marie loved to travel. Frank is survived by his wife Marie, son Bruce and wife Mary Anne, daughter Dorene Rode-Tomaskovic and husband John. Frank will be reposing Sun. 2-4 & 7-9PM at Leach & Thomas, Inc. 32 State St. Ossining. KOLISZ, MARIA C.
Maria C. Kolisz of Ossining died peacefully at home after a long battle with breast cancer, she was 50. She was born May 11, 1958 in the Bronx to Constanzo and Angela Greco. Maria graduated from Westlake HS in Thornwood in 1976 and Mercy College in 1980. She worked as an analyst for IBM in Armonk. She was a communicant of St. Annʼs Church. Maria is survived by her husband Kevin, son Kevin Jr., daughter Kristen and sister Adelaide Heusted. She will be reposing Tues. 7-9pm and Wed. 2-4 & 7-9pm at Leach & Thomas, Inc. 32 State Street Ossining. Mass of Christian burial Thurs. 10am St. Annʼs Church, burial Gate of Heaven Cemetery. DiGRANDI, THERESA M.
Theresa M. Di Grandi, 95, of Briarcliff Manor formerly of Hartsdale, NY on November 1, 2008 at Phelps Memorial Hospital. She was born in Tarrytown, NY on July 20, 1913 to Eustuchio and Rosina Sardiello Derrico. Theresa married Mario Di Grandi on July 20, 1935; he predeceased her on January 4, 1994. Theresa worked as house wife and a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of the Ossining Golden Ager˘s and a communicant of St. Ann˘s Church. Theresa is survived by her loving children: Robert (Maryann) Di Grandi, George Di Grandi, Salvatore (Annette) Di Grandi, Jean (Larry) Davide. Her adoring grandchildren: Laurie, Robert, Denise, Vincent, Regina, Cassandra, Francesca and her 7 great-grandchildren. Reposing Leach & Thomas, Inc. 32 State Street Ossining Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
