Virginia Ann Braman
HYDE PARK - Virginia Ann Braman, 87, a 12 year resident, formerly of Deltona, FL, died Thursday, July 10, 2008 at Hudson Valley Nursing Center. Mrs. Braman retired in 1983 from Samaritan Hospital, where she worked for the Director of Nursing. She was a member of Good Shephard Church in Rhinebeck. She moved to this area after the loss of her husband to be near family. Her family was her life. Walking was her hobby. She made the most of her life whatever came her way. Everyone who knew her, loved her. She touched the hearts of many with her gentle hugs. She was the daughter of Samuel and Anna O'Donnell Pitts and graduated from Catholic High School in Troy, NY. On Jan. 5, 1943, in Troy, NY, she married Kenneth Braman. Mr. Braman died died Jan. 9, 1992. Survivors include her sister, Betty Keilen of Latham, NY; her son, Scott Braman and his wife, Karen of Albany; her daughter, Virginia Millard and her husband, Tim of Hyde Park; her grandchildren, Alex Braman of Albany; Jessica Lutz of Albany; Tim and Kym Millard of Poughkeepsie; Matt and Amy Millard of Massachusetts; Gordon and Leanne Millard of Poughkeepsie; great-grandchildren, Alaina, Blake, Mikayla and Brooke; and many nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours and interment will be in Florida. She will be buried in Deltona, FL, beside her husband and best friend. Memorial donations may be made to Hudson Valley Rehabilitation & Extended Care Center, Resident Council, Vineyard Ave., Highland, in memory of Virginia Braman. Arrangements entrusted to Joseph H. Darrow of the Joseph J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home, Rte. 9, Hyde Park.

Sheila Code
GRAPEVINE - Sheila Code, beloved wife of Larry Code, passed away Thursday, July 10, at an Arlington hospital. Gathering of friends: 4 pm - 6 pm Sunday, J.E. Foust Funeral Home in Grapevine, 523 S. Main St. Mrs. Code was a 1959 graduate of Poughkeepsie High School. Following graduation, she enlisted in the Marine Corp where she met her husband of 45 years. Upon discharge they moved to Poughkeepsie where they both started their careers with IBM. While working with IBM she received her degree in education from the State University of New York at New Paltz. They relocated to Grapevine in 1983. She retired from IBM in 1997. Sheila will be laid to rest at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery by her daughter, Deborah Elaine Code, who preceded her in death. Survivors include Husband, Larr y Code of Grapevine; Brothers, Phillip Kelley of Troy, AL, Dennis Garrigan of Richardson, TX, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Herbert King
ONTARIO, NY - Herbert King died on July 2nd at age 83 in Tavares, Florida. He is predeceased by his wife Ida Mae (Kurtz). He is survived by son Scott (Nancy) King & daughter Robin (Neil) Schmidt; grandchildren, Bob & Jerry King and Spenser (Jamie), Devon & Tucker Schmidt all of Ontario, NY; and companion Anne VanSchaack of Eustis, Florida. Herb was born in Kremis, PA and grew up in Elyria, OH. Then moving to Erie, PA, he served in WWII and graduated from Gannon College. It is there that he started his career with IBM. After a 25 year career, he retired from IBM while in Poughkeepsie, NY. He spent his retirement years traveling between Florida and New York. A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Herb King is planned for Saturday, July 19th at 11:00am at Walworth United Methodist Church in Walworth, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Walworth United Methodist Church, 3679 Walworth Palmyra Rd., Walworth, NY 14568.

Angela Marie Seenes
BEACON - Angela Marie Seenes, 26, of Beacon, died Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She attended rehabilitation programs in Poughkeepsie. Despite her disability, she brought out compassion and caring in others and now has fulfilled her purpose and has gone home. Born Feb. 12, 1982 in Cheyenne, WY, she was the daughter of Robert John Seenes of Newburgh and Suzanne A. Bedell Seenes of Beacon. In addition to her parents, she is also survived by her sister, Nancy Seenes of Ohio; her paternal grandmother, Barbara Seenes of Ohio; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. A Memorial Service will take place 6 p.m., Tuesday, July 15, at Libby Funeral Home Inc., 55 Teller Ave., Beacon. Father Edwin Cromey will officiate. Burial will be in Fishkill Rural Cemetery Mausoleum at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to International Rett Syndrome Association, 9121 Piscataway Rd., Suite 2B, Clinton, MD 20735.

Ardella Shoop
BEACON - Ardella Shoop, 88, was called by her Lord and Savior on July 10, 2008. "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16). Ardella was born in Le Ray, MN to the late Mr. & Mrs. Adolf Dagan. She is survived by her brother Oscar and was preceded in death by sister Ruth and brother Donald. She married Paul Meline in Elgin, IL, and they had 2 children: Douglas Meline (wife Sheryl) of Dallas, TX, and Marsha Hayes (husband James) of Beacon, NY. Paul passed away in 1960 and years later Ardella married John W. Shoop who had 4 children: John David of Odessa, TX, Patti Wendorf (husband Dave) of Merrill, WI, Sandra Cox and Wayne Shoop (both deceased). She had 6 grandchildren: Christa Post & Nathan Cox of Alabama, Matt and Beth Shoop of Virginia, Shannon Dupree of Colorado and Dawn Tuescher of Wisconsin. She had 12 great grandchildren. Ardella surrendered her life to God and glorified Him selflessly with her gifts of mercy, comfort, discernment and hospitality. She and John devoted their lives to full-time Christian service at Covenant College, Columbia International University and with Christian Businessmen's Co. She was a loving mother and supportive wife. She had her own ministry as a counselor, confidant, mentor and "mom" with hundreds of college students, couples and women. Ardella moved to Beacon, NY, 4 years ago to live with her daughter Marsha & son-in-law Jim who loved and cared for her in their home as she suffered from advancing illnesses. Her consistent testimony and gracious manner will be her legacy that will continue to inspire us all. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Plano, TX where memorial services will be held in August. Viewings at Madison Funeral Home, Elgin IL, 7-15 (7pm), 7-16 (12-2pm). Rosalie Stolley
HAVERFORD, PA - Rosalie Stolley (nee Chertock), age 102, of Haverford, PA, formerly of Pawling, NY, and Queens, NY, died Friday, July 11, 2008. Mrs. Stolley was a talented school teacher and gifted musician, and both singer and amateur pianist. She was the beloved wife of the late Herman Stolley and sister of the late Ad and Stewart Chertock. Survivors include her loving children, Paul D. Stolley, M.D. (JoAnn) of Columbia, MD and Carol Dvora of Oakland, CA; and 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Funeral and Interment private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 1615 West Chester Pike, Suite 102, West Chester, PA 19382 would be appreciated. Arrangements are under the direction of D'Anjolell Memorial Homes, Broomall, PA.

Llewellyn Gates "Gates" Wray
MIDLAND PARK, NJ - Llewellyn Gates "Gates" Wray went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 9, 2008. Born in East Orange, he lived most of his life in Midland Park. He also lived for several months in New York City. A 1954 graduate of the Juilliard School of Music, New York, NY, Gates was a concert pianist having studied under Vladimir Horowitz, Carl Roeder, and Beveridge Webster. He was a piano teacher extraordinaire who was beloved by his students and family. Gates was a member of Saint Mary's Episcopal Church in New York City and All Saints Episcopal Church in Glen Rock. He is survived by his dear sister Nancy Wray Tamlyn of Millbrook, NY, his three nephews; Reverend Walter Bruce Tamlyn of Silver Bay, NY, Reverend Keith Wray Tamlyn of Wappinger's Falls, NY and Rick Tamlyn of Studio City, CA. Gates is also survived by his cousin Ruth Ellen Fondeur of Florida. Gates is the son of the late Llewellyn H. Wray and Dorothy G. Wray (nee Gassin) Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at All Saints' Episcopal Church, 40 Central Ave., Glen Rock, NJ 07452. Funeral service, 1:00 in the church followed by interment in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to All Saints' Episcopal Church, would be appreciated. Arrangements by the Olthuis Funeral Home, Midland Park.
