Gilda Torsone
POUGHKEEPSIE N.Y - Gilda Torsone, 89, a lifelong resident of Poughkeepsie died Wed. April 9, 2008 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was a Hostess for the IBM Homestead until her retirement. Mrs. Torsone was born Dec. 5, 1918 in Poughkeepsie. She was the daughter of Phillip & Anna Coluni Crodelle. Gilda was a member of St. Rita's & St. Ann's society, Past President of the Ladies Auxillary of the Italian Center, Past President of the Victory Lodge, & was Past President of the Mothers Club of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Poughkeepsie. On April 20, 1941 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Poughkeepsie she married Lawrence Torsone. Mr. Torsone predeceased her on April 14, 1967. Survivors include her son: R. Lawrence Torsone & his wife Arlene of Fairfield N.J, five grandchildren: Mr. & Mrs. R. Lawrence Torsone III, Mr. & Mrs. Brett Houghton, Mr. & Mrs. Darren Torsone, Mr. & Mrs. Alexander McWilliams, & Ms. Maria Torsone. Great grandchildren: Peter, Christine, Chiara, Emmet, James, Graham, Alexander, & Olivia, and a sister, Marie Scorza of Rhinebeck as well as several nieces, nephews, & cousins. Predeceased by two sisters: Rose Russo , Sophie Mackey and three brothers: Marshall Crodelle, Vincent Crodelle, & Raymond Crodelle. Calling hours were on Friday April 11, 2008 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home Inc. 218 Mill St. Poughkeepsie N.Y. Wheelchair entrance is located in the rear of funeral home on Vassar St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Today, Sat. April 12 , 9: 30 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Poughkeepsie. Burial will follow in St. Peters Cemetery Poughkeepsie. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in Gilda's name.

Amalia Tsanos
POUGHKEEPSIE - Amalia Tsanos, 104, of Poughkeepsie, died peacefully Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at the Eden Park Nursing Home. She was born in Konitsa, Greece on November 24, 1903, the daughter of Christos and Maria Lolos. She immigrated to the United States in 1935 and proudly became a naturalized citizen shortly thereafter. Mrs. Tsanos resided in the Bronx, NY before moving to Poughkeepsie in 1962. In Poughkeepsie, she became an active and proud member of the Kimisis Greek Orthodox Chucrh, the Hellenic Center and the Philoptochos Society. Her husband, Nicholas Tsanos, as well as her beloved son, Harry Tsanos predeceased her. She is survived by her daughter, Olga Verdis of Poughkeepsie, NY. Also surviving is her extended family, grandchildren, Kay Williams, Emmy Verdis, Ernie Verdis, Tami Schmutzler, and Nick Tsanos; great-grandchildren, Christina, Alexandra, Shannon, Sarah and David; great-great-granddaughter, Madison and many nieces, nephews and cousins in Greece. All of her family and friends will forever have cherished memories of "Ya-Ya". Her sense of humor and passion for life were felt by all with whom she came in contact. Her loved ones will forever be touched by her strength, courage and devotion to family. Calling hours will be 4-8pm, Sunday, April 13 at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 14, 2008 at 10:30am at the Kimisis Greek Orthodox Church, Grand Ave., Poughkeepsie. Burial will follow at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY.

Joseph Francis Wallaszek
MIAMI, FL - Joseph Francis Wallaszek passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2008 in Westchester Veterans Hospital, Miami, FL. Born March 6, 1929, he was 79 years old. Joe was a graduate of St. Joseph's School and Poughkeepsie High School. Joe served in the United States Army, 82nd Airborne, from 1950 to 1953. He then went to work at Western Printing, where he retired. He moved to Miami with his mother and brother, Ted, where he lived his senior years. His hobbies were building and flying model airplanes, driving his Harley Davison motorcycles, reading and he was very independent and an adventurous person. His is survived by his brother, Theodore "Ted" Wallaszek of Miami, FL; sisters, Josephine Kisch, Marjorie Sheehan and AnnaMay Perri, all of Poughkeepsie; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Anna Wallaszek; a sister, Theresa; and a brother Julian. There will be no calling hours. There will be a graveside services at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Poughkeepsie. Arrangements by William G. Miller & Son Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie.

Winifred Zeliph
EAST FISHKILL ó Winifred J. Zeliph, 68, a resident of Hopewell Junction for seven years and formerly of Modena, died on Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. Born in Peekskill on December 27, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Maude Daniels Zeliph. Winifred was a loving mother and grandmother who loved gardening. Winifred is survived by her children, Keith Clothier and his wife, Sandra of Corinth; Kevin Clothier of Georgia, Jerralyn Rodino and her husband, Robert of Buchanan, and Anita Pavia and her husband, Michael of Hopewell Junction; her grandchildren, Nicole White, Kurtis Clothier, Sarah Cipolla, Michael Pavia, Matthew Pavia and Monique Clothier; her great-grandchildren, Charlotte White, Ava White and Brody Clothier; her sisters, Iva Howell, Laura Richards, Florence Croft and Barbara Zoll; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Calling hours are from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday at the McHoul Funeral Home Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 61 Broadway, New York, NY 10006.

FLANIGAN, ANN
Ann Flanigan of Yonkers, formerly of Eastchester passed away on February 26, 2009 after a brief illness. Born on January 3, 1945 to Nancy and Joseph Flanigan who predeceased her. Loving sister of Fran (Al) Tozzi and Jean Colangelo. Also survived by nephews James, Robert (Ann Marie), John (Doris) Tozzi, Daniel and William (Jennifer) Colangelo and niece Nancy Tozzi. The family will receive friends Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC., Eastchester. Mass of Christian Burial on Monday March 2nd at 10:30 AM at Holy Family Church, New Rochelle. Interment to follow at Holy Mount Cemetery, Eastchester. In lieu of flowers kindly make donations to CRC 4th Floor, c/o E. Ann Maccarone, 378 E. 151st Street, Bronx, NY 10455.

Katherine Cropsey, 90 of Dobbs Ferry died Tuesday July 13, 2004. Mrs. Cropsey was born in Baltimore, MD on October 19, 1913 the daughter of Paul and Mary Lee (De Chantles) Dillingham. On October 19, 1939 Katherine married Floyd P. Cropsey in Immaculate Conception Church in Irvington. Mr. Cropsey died May 23, 1965.
Katherine was active in community and church organizations. She was the Hospital Coordinator of Volunteer Receptionists and volunteered in the coffee shop at Dobbs Ferry Hospital.
Katherine was a long time parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and belonged to many of the church groups such as the Community Group, Sodality, was a Lector at weekend Masses and a receptionist at the Rectory. She belonged to the Dobbs Ferry Women's Club, Dobbs Ferry FISH, the General Jacob O'Dell Chapter of the DAR where she was the past Regent and Treasurer.
Katherine was first and foremost devoted to her family. Her loving children and their spouses Sue and Pat Troy of Dobbs Ferry, Kathy and Tony Panella of Yonkers, Paul and Sandy Cropsey of Griffin, GA. She was the devoted grandmother of Suzanne Marie Troy and Don DiLorenzo, Anne Marie and Dan Mertes , Donald Panella, Justin Cropsey, Brad Cropsey, Patrick and Coralie McDonagh and Deidre McDonagh.
Mass of the Resurrection Saturday 10:00AM Church of the Sacred Heart. Visiting Friday 2-4 & 7-9PM Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home. Memorials to Sacred Heart Church appreciated.
