Flora S. Tacchino 76, of Hawthorne, N.Y. died on April 10, 2010 at her residence.She was born on Feb.12,1934 to the late Edward and Angelina (nee Ruggiero) Francesco in Bronx, N.Y. During most of her working career, she was owner-operator of Joy Travel in Hawthorne, N.Y., worked as a hostess at various restaurants, and was a toll taker for the NYC Bridge and Tunnel Authority. She is survived by her sister Antoinette Iarossi of Yorktown Hgts., N.Y. and by several nieces and nephews. Flora was predeceased by her sisters; Rose Francesco, Rita Tota, Carmela DeVirgelis and by her brothers; Domenick, Joseph, Henry and Edward Francesco. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Tuesday 4-8 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, N.Y. on Wednesday 10 AM. Interment, St.Raymond's Cemetery, Bronx, N.Y. CAPUTO, LEONARD SR., of New Rochelle, and a long-time resident of Yonkers, peacefully entered into eternal rest on January 15, 2010 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born March 2, 1936 in the town of Anzano di Puglia in the province of Foggia, Italy and was the son of the late Attilio and Irene Caputo. The youngest of three children, Lenny immigrated to the United States in 1950. He proudly served his nation with distinction from 1959 - 1965. A business owner in Scarsdale, he enjoyed following the stock market, watching classic movies, vacationing and spending time with his family, especially his three granddaughters. Beloved husband of forty-seven years to Caroline (Amicola) Caputo. Devoted father of Leonard Caputo Jr. and his wife Patricia. Adored grandfather of Daniella, Jessica and Marisa. Loving brother of Rosa Carlucci and the late Vincenzo. Caring nephew of Carmella Sabatini. Fond brother-in-law of Leonard Amicola and Dr. Joanne Amicola-Olgee. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Lenny's struggle with Parkinson's disease was eased with the love of his family and care-givers, especially Micaela (Mickey) Rodriguez who stayed by his side. Friends may call at the Sinatra Memorial Home, 601 Yonkers Ave. on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral Mass at St. Ann Church on Tuesday at 11:30 A.M. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery. Ida Mekeel
January 8, 1929 - June 1, 2013
Ida Mekeel of Hopewell Junction passed away peacefully on June 1, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital. She was 84.
Born on January 8, 1929 in Washington DC to the late Elsie L. Brennan.
Ida was a Registered Nurse for many years working at New York Presbyterian Hospital and at Vassar Hospital.
She enjoyed listening to classical and opera music, loved tending to her garden, taking walks and enjoyed all of life’s creatures large and small.
She is survived by her children Sharon and her husband George Fischer of Clinton Corners, and Donna Benjamin and her husband James of Fenton, MO, her 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Frederick Mekeel, her son Jamie Mekeel and 2 sisters and 1 brother.
Willa is finally at rest with her beloved Freddy and Chocolate. Rest in Peace Willa.
At Ida’s request cremation has taken place and her ashes will be buried in Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home-Hopewell Junction.

Joseph S. Schiciano
Joseph S. Schiciano, 85 of Westchester County, NY and Jupiter, FL, husband of Lillian “Dolly” (Csaszar) Schiciano died on Saturday, June30, 2012 in Ridgefield, CT.
Mr. Schiciano was born in Cleveland, Ohio, March 8, 1927, son of Salvatore and Mary (Rogazione) Schiciano. He graduated from Shaw High School in Cleveland, Ohio and obtained his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio.
He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran having served his country as a medic.
Mr. Schiciano began his career in industrial piping product sales first as an employee of Grinnell Corporation and later The Coon-DeVisser Company, where he started as a salesman and eventually became president and owner during a fifty year career.
Prior to moving to Westchester to be closer to family, he resided in Bloomfield Hills, MI where he and Dolly raised their two sons. He was a member of Oakland Hills Country Club, where he served on the Board of Directors. He also served on the Board of Governors of Cranbrook-Kingswood Schools, where his sons attended.
In addition to his wife, Dolly of nearly fifty years, Mr. Schiciano is survived by two sons, Jason of Goldens Bridge, NY and Geoffrey of Chicago, IL; his sister, Mary Sharaba of Willoughby, OH and three grandchildren, Logan, Hanna and Angelo.
A celebration of his life will be held in Michigan in the near future.

Walter A. D'Andrea
Born: June 8, 1956
Death: May 29, 2013
Walter “Skip” D’Andrea, 56 years old, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 8, 1956 in Yonkers and was the son of Carmela LoBosco D’Andrea and the late Edward D’Andrea.
Skip grew up in the Bronx and then moved to Yonkers in 1972. He graduated from Lincoln Hall Boys School in Somers, NY. In 1994, he met his future wife, Darlene Kroll, at the Thruway Diner in New Rochelle and on September 1, 1996 in New Rochelle, they were married. They moved to Hopewell Junction in 1998.
Skip was self-employed as an auto mechanic and also owned A Taste of Italy, which many people knew him for. He loved motorcycles, cars, sports, animals and most especially, his family. One of his favorite things was to watch sports with his son, CJ and to watch CJ play football for the Southern Dutchess Patriots and John Jay High School.
Besides his loving wife, Darlene, and his mother, Carmela, Skip is survived by his beloved son, CJ D’Andrea; three sisters, Jessica Bill, Anne Marie Azimi and her husband, Matthew and Patricia Seufert and her husband, Vincent; numerous nieces and nephews and his dog, JoJo and cat, Skipbo. Besides his father, he was predeceased by a sister, Linda Doslik.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, June 1 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm and Sunday, June 2 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home, 900 Rt. 82, Hopewell Junction, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 3 at 10 a.m. at St. Columba Church, Hopewell Junction, followed by burial at St. Denis Cemetery.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or St Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Skip’s memory.

Sidney Lipman
March 12, 1925 - May 8, 2014
Sidney "Scoots" Lipman, 89, a Town of Poughkeepsie resident since 1955, died on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Mr. Lipman was employed by IBM for 30 years, and retired in 1985. He was a member of the IBM quarter Century Club. He was a volunteer for the AARP Tax Counseling for the Elderly program, and was an instructor for the Poughkeepsie SeniorNet computer program. He was an amateur radio operator since 1946 and had articles published in the following magazines: QST (Amateur Radio), CQ (Amateur Radio), and Radio & Television News, Electronic Packaging and Production and Digital Design.
Mr. Lipman served in the US Army in the United States and in Europe and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star Medal, American Campaign Medal, and the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal.
Born on March 12, 1925 in San Francisco, California, he was the son of the late Paul and Nettie Lipman.
Mr. Lipman was pre-deceased by his daughter Ellen Stoutenburgh.
He is survived by his wife Dora Lipman; son, Kenneth of Poughkeepsie, NY; daughter Sherri McCauley, son-in-law Donald, and granddaughters Natalie and Megan of Austin, Texas.
There are no calling hours.
