HALLEY, NANCY B.

Nancy B. Halley, 69, of Peekskill, NY and formally of New Rochelle, NY, died peacefully Tuesday, July 1, 2008. She is survived by her sons Darrell Johnson, David Halley, sister Geralene Black, three grandchildren, one great grandson, two nieces, two nephews, one aunt and numerous family and friends. Nancy suffered from complications following heart surgery earlier this year. Donations in her memory can be made to Mamaroneck United Methodist Church or crossculturalsolutions.or g. Her life will be celebrated at Mamaroneck United Methodist Church on July 7, 2008 at 2 PM.

HOBBY, MARY E.

Mary E. Hobby of Greenburgh, NY on Monday, June 30, 2008. Born September 24, 1920 in Petersburg, VA. She is survived by her children, Kenneth Hobby, Shirleen Lewis, Tina (Carlton) Garrett and predeceased by her son George F. Lawrence. Seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Family will receive friends, Saturday July 5 from 9- 9:55 AM at Union Baptist Church 31 Manhattan Avenue, White Plains, NY 10607. Funeral Services at 10:00 AM at the church. Arrangements by Andre F. JOHNSON, ROSEMARY MAHON

Rosemary Mahon Johnson, 48, died July 3, 2008 . She was born in Waterford, Ireland and grew up in Dublin. She was employed by the Bank of Ireland Asset Management for 27 years. In 1990 she married Gregory Johnson and they have lived in Ardsley for the past 16 years. Rosemary enjoyed family vacations and attending her children's sporting events. She is survived by her devoted husband Greg, her beloved children Alan and Claire, her parents Drs. Thomas J and Mary (Crofts) Mahon of Dublin, Ireland, a sister Dr. Anne Golling of Heidelberg, Germany, brothers Dr. Thomas Mahon of Honolulu, HI and Brian Mahon of Pasadena, CA Mass of the Resurrection 10 AM Monday, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Ardsley, NY. LANAVE, MICHAEL D.

Michael D. LaNave of Nanuet, NY, died on July 1, 2008 in Calvary Hospital. Michael was born in Binghamton, NY on Sept. 3, 1916 to Vito and Grace (Celeste) LaNave. Michael was a Marine veteran of WWII. He had two tours of duty with the USMC, and additionally one was a post -war goodwill tour. He also served with US National Guard. Michael was an active member of the Nanuet VFW. Michael is survived by seven children, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at St. Francis of Assisi Church, W. Nyack, NY at 10:15 AM. Burial will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Nanuet, NY. MANUELE, ANTHONY

Anthony J. Manuele, of Hawthorne, NY, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2008 surrounded by his family and friends at Cornell Medical Center. He was 52 years old. Tony was born, December 18, 1955 in Yonkers, NY, son of Constance Manuele and the late Joseph Anthony Manuele. He attended Iona Prep and graduated from Iona College in 1977. He was the President of L&M; Account Services and was a daily communicant of Holy Name of Jesus Church in Hawthorne. Tony was an avid sportsman coaching Kensico Little League for 17 years and playing on softball and baseball teams in Hawthorne and Valhalla, presently playing with the Mud Hens. He was an enormous Yankee fan. Surviving are his wife, Michele Migliucci Manuele and five children, Michael, Joseph, David, Lauren, and Matthew. Tony is also survived by his mother Constance Manuele, brother, Joseph (Debra) Manuele and sister, Maria Manuele and all of his extended family and friends who will miss his quick wit and funny sense of humor. He was preceded by his father Joseph Anthony Manuele in 1991. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 7-9 PM, Thursday, July 3 & 4-7 PM July 4 at the Ballard-Durand Funeral Home, 2 Maple Avenue at South Broadway, White Plains, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Name of Jesus Church, Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Manuele Children's College Fund, c/o Randall Richards, Esq., 1428 Midland Avenue, Suite 6, Bronxville, NY 10708.

John S. Forbes, Sr.

John S. Forbes, Sr. of 4380 West Seneca Road, Trumansburg passed away at the Cayuga Medical Center on Tuesday, January 14, 2003 at the age of 79.
Born in Watkins Glen, New York on April 19, 1923, John was the son of Albert and Marcia Beardsley Forbes. Following his graduation from the Watkins Glen High School in 1941, John entered the U.S. Army where he served as an engineer with Company A, 168th Engineer Combat Battalion during WW II. He received an Honorable Discharge
on December 5, 1945 with the rank of Technician Fifth Grade.
John completed two years of Business Administration Studies at Sienna College in Loudenville which helped him secure employment with the Finger Lakes State Park Commission. He retired from the Regional Maintenance Supervisor's position in 1983, following 37 years of service with the parks system.
He enjoyed bowling and was active in the Watkins Glen Leagues for many years. John was also a member of the Watkins Glen Elks Club, the Trumansburg V.F.W. Post #5498, was Past Commander of the Watkins Glen V.F.W. Post #555 and was a past member of the Watkins Glen Fire Department.
John was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 52 years, Anna D. "Fran" Forbes on March 19, 2002 and two sisters, Mary Fisher and Barbara Burnett. He is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth A. Forbes of Ithaca; a son, John S. Forbes, Jr. (Lynn) of Auburn; two granddaughters, Shannon and Stephanie; one niece, two nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Church of the Epiphany on Friday, January 17, 2003 at 10:00 am with Fr. Ralph Locke officiating.
In keeping with John's wishes, no public calling hours have been scheduled.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in John's memory may be directed to the Trumansburg Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 418, Trumansburg, NY 14886.
The family has entrusted arrangements to the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South St., Trumansburg. 1-888-534-5446.

Clement Cyril (Skip) Slocum, III

Clement Cyril (Skip) Slocum, III died at the age of 53 on January 16, 2003, awaiting a liver transplant. He was born in Syracuse, NY on September 8, 1949. He is cherished by loving wife Margaret (Marge), daughters Andrea and Alicia, stepson Sal and granddaughter Peri Lee. A longtime resident of South Florida, he owned and operated Architectural Concepts of Fort Lauderdale. A true fan of the Miami Dolphins, he always hoped to see their triumphant return to the Super Bowl. He will be dearly missed by his mother, Margaret (Peg), brothers James (Jean), Thomas (Susan), Terrence (Mary Beth), sister Roxanne (Dana), and nieces and nephews, all residing in upstate New York. The last 22 years of his life were also shared with much joy and laughter with his sisters-in-law, his beloved Carole, Liz (Joe), Roberta (Aris), Charl (Rich), nephews, nieces and their children. He was a loyal and respected friend to many. Our hearts are heavy but our lives are richer for having known him.
