LINDBLAD - 60TH

Oliver and Gloria Lindblad of Horseheads, New York marked their 60th wedding anniversary with a family celebration held at the Lindenwald Haus on January 29, 2005. Mr. Lindblad and the former Gloria Davis were married at the Bride's home in Elmira, New York on January 28, 1945. The couple has three children. They are Denny (Linda) Lindblad of Lowman, New York; John Lindblad of Churchville, New York; and Sandy (Jerry) Cook of Pine City, New York. They have five grandchildren: Kelley (Scott) Cousin, Todd Lindblad, Jeff Cook, Chris Cook, and Nolan Cook. They have two great grandchildren: Ainsley and Maxwell Cousin. Mr. Lindblad is retired from The Bendix Corporation and Mrs. Lindblad was an employee of Nichols Discount and S.F. Iszard's.

Obituary of Gloria Lindblad:

LINDBLAD, Gloria J., Age 84 of Horseheads, NY formerly of Van Etten NY passed away on Monday February 7, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. Gloria was born February 27, 1926 in Breesport, NY the daughter of the late Clark B. Davis and Maude G. Starkey Davis. She married her husband, Bruno Oliver Lindblad, on January 28, 1945 and they recently celebrated their 66th Wedding Anniversary on January 28, 2011. Mrs. Lindblad had worked at Remington Rand and Nichols Discount City prior to her retirement. Gloria was a member of The Chemung County Senior Citizens and loved being the D.J. at their gatherings. Mrs. Lindblad was pre-deceased by her parents and her brother and sister. She loved her family and friends and treasured the time she spent with them. Mrs. Lindblad is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 66 years B. Oliver Lindblad; sons and daughters-in-law: Dennis & Linda Lindblad of Lowman, NY and John Lindblad & Bonnie of Churchville, NY; daughter and son-in-law: Sandra & Jeremiah "Mugga" Cook of Pine City, NY; grandchildren: Kelley (Scott) Cousin, Todd (Stephanie) Lindblad, Jeff (Kelly) Cook, Chris (Shannon) Cook, Nolan (Karen) Cook; five great grandchildren: Ainsley, Max, Kaylyn, Elodie, and Jordan; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of caring friends. The Family would like to thank the entire staff of 4-D at The Arnot Ogden Skilled Nursing Unit and Southern Tier Hospice for the loving and compassionate care given to Mrs. Lindblad. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Lynch Funeral Home 318 West Broad Street Horseheads, NY on Thursday February 10, 2011 from 4-7 PM. Mrs. Lindblad's Funeral and Committal Services will be conducted at the conclusion of calling hours with the Rev. Beverly Davenport officiating. Interment in North Van Etten Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family will provide their own flowers and those wishing may remember Mrs. Lindblad through memorials to The North Van Etten Church c/o Rev. Beverly Davenport 72 Townline Road Van Etten, NY 14889 or to a charity of one's choice.
