Charles and Barbara McDermott of Lakeland, FL will celebrate 50 years of marriage with an open house on June 25, 2005 at the North Chemung Community Center from 1-4 p.m. Mr. Charles McDermott and the former Barbara J. Rafferty were married on May 21, 1955 by Franklin Weaver and Horace Pittman at the North Chemung Methodist Church. The couple have 4 children; Mark McDermott of Horseheads, NY, Rhonda Luedeman of Lakeland, FL, Roger McDermott of Garland, Texas and Larry McDermott of Lakeland, FL. They also have 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Mr. McDermott is a retired sheet metal worker with Wyatt Fitzgibbons, Lakeland, FL.
