Clair Spieldenner
NORTH KINGSVILLE - Clair R. Spieldenner, 82, of Pennsylvania Avenue, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, at his home from complications from Parkinson's Disease.
He was born Oct. 24, 1918, in Monroe Township, the son of John and Alice (Risley) Spieldenner.
A lifelong Conneaut resident, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II
He married Josephine Bennett on Feb. 16, 1946.
Mr. Spieldenner was employed as a painter in the woodworking department of Webb Manufacturing for 21 years, retiring in 1981.
He was a member of Amboy United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee. He was gifted mechanically and enjoyed woodworking. He made many knick-knacks and toys for his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed talking with people.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Doris Silvieus of Wakeman; two sons, Denver of Conneaut and Albert of Ashland; eight grandchildren, Nicole Weidler, Jessie Darr, Sarah Yakunovich, Rebecca Silvieus, and Benjamin and Lucy Spieldenner, Tammy Toikkanen and Scott Myers; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, John Charles.
Service is 11 a.m. Monday at Amboy United Methodist Church, 554 W. Main Road, Conneaut, with the Rev. Shirley Stoops-Frantz of Bristolville United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Kelloggsville Cemetery, Monroe Township.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of Amboy United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be at the church or Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, which has charge of the arrangements.

Eleanor Hurn
NORTH KINGSVILLE - Eleanor Hurn, 92, formerly of East Center Street, died Thursday, May 23, 2002, at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home.
She was born April 26, 1910, in New Castle, Pa., to Joseph and Mary Sabo.
Mrs. Hurn married George E. Hurn March 2, 1929. They lived in Maumee and Cleveland before moving to North Kingsville in 1948.
She loved antiques and operated a small antique business from her home. She and her husband operated a motel in the 1960s. She also worked in the cafeteria at North Kingsville Elementary School.
Mrs. Hurn served as secretary/treasurer for the Union Presbyterian Church and was active in church activities. She was a member and held offices in the Rebekah Lodge, Eastern Star Lodge and Pounds Away. After her retirement, she traveled abroad and domestically.
Survivors include her son George E. II of Lady Lake, Fla., and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1978, and nine brothers and sisters.
Private service is Monday at Eastlake Cemetery, North Kingsville, officiated by the Rev. Christine Strachan, pastor of the North Kingsville Presbyterian Church. There will be no calling hours.
Memorial donations may be made in her name to the North Kingsville Presbyterian Church.
The Thompson-Smith Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut, is handling arrangements.

Lewis H. Clayman
NORTH KINGSVILLE - Lewis H. Clayman, 76, of Lake Road died Friday, July 26, 2002, at Brown Memorial Hospital in Conneaut.
Mr. Clayman was born May 8, 1926, in Cleveland, the son of Elmer and Winnifred (Jackman) Clayman.
He served in the Navy during World War II. He had lived in the area for his entire life, with the exception of one year when he was stationed in Chicago on an aircraft carrier that trained pilots.
He worked 37 years for Union Carbide and Elchem Metals, spending some of those years as a supervisor.
Mr. Clayman was a member of the Kingsville Presbyterian Church and the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and walking his dogs.
Survivors include his wife, Frances (Campbell); a son, Gale of Telford, Pa.; two daughters, Rowynn Bancroft of Jefferson and Lauri MacDonald of Charlotte, N.C.; a brother, Frank of Ashtabula; two sisters, Irene Luce and Alice Hochschild of Kingsville; six granddaughters, Betsy Hodges and Pamela Shaw, both of Las Vegas, Melissa Clayman of Sellersville, Pa., Kristie Sutch of North Kingsville, Leslie Bancroft of Jefferson and Diane Bonefont of Florida; three grandsons, Troy Clayman of Quakerstown, Pa., and Joshua and Matthew MacDonald of Charlotte, N.C.; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Mark; and brother Elmer William (Bud) Clayman.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Kingsville Presbyterian Church with The Rev. Bonnie Habbersett officiating.
Burial will be in Lulu Falls Cemetery, Kingsville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church, 3056 W. Main St., Kingsville, 44048.
The Ross-Billman Funeral Home, 526 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, is handling arrangements.

Walter G. Moore
KINGSVILLE - Walter G. Moore, 87, of Mill Street, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, in the Hospice Unit of the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
He was born March 28, 1915, in Ashtabula, the son of Walter L. and Myrtle (Phillips) Moore, and had been a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Moore was a graduate of Edgewood High School and was a member of the band.
He worked for White Consolidated Industries for 18 years, retiring in 1980 as a supervisor.
Mr. Moore was a member and past master of Rising Sun Lodge 22, Free and Accepted Masons; El Kadir Grotto; and the Lodge Council, Chapter Consistory, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Cleveland.
He was a former member of the Buckeye School Board, the Kingsville Zoning Board, and the senior bowling league in Kingsville.
Mr. Moore enjoyed sports, including golfing and bowling, and watching Edgewood High School sports and the band.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley I. (Gochneaur) Moore, whom he married July 15, 1939; two sons, Robert W. Moore of Ashtabula, and Walter L. Moore of Vancouver, Wash.; two daughters, Darlene A. Labry of Ashtabula, and Shelia R. Kaseman of Kingsville; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Shirley Lewis of Pierpont.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, George L. Moore.
Service is 10 a.m. Saturday at the Ross-Billman Funeral Home, 526 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, with the Rev. David Hines of Kingsville Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.
Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, and a Masonic service will be conducted at 7:45 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Ashtabula County or to the Kingsville Township Rescue Squad. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

Sally L. Foster
KINGSVILLE TOWNSHIP - Sally L. Foster, 72, of Geneva, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home.
She was born March 24, 1931, in Geneva, the daughter of Wing McKinley and Eleanor E. (Hoskins) Foster.
She enjoyed the holidays and spending time with family.
Survivors include a brother, Robert Foster of Ashtabula; and two sisters, Joanne Coffee of Denver, and Irene Dodge of Inverness, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Harold; and two sisters, Margaret Berly and Betty Hunt.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Geneva, with the Rev. Bill Evans, pastor of the Covenant Assembly of God, in Jefferson, officiating.
The Kennedy-Billman Funeral Home, 323 S. Broadway, Geneva, is in charge of arrangements.

George T. Doerr
NORTH KINGSVILLE - George T. "Tom" Doerr, 48, of North Kingsville, died Tuesday evening, July 24, 2001, at UHHS Brown Memorial Hospital in Conneaut.
He was born Feb. 12, 1953, in New Castle, Pa., the son of George and Jacquline (Cearafoss) Doerr, and moved to the North Kingsville area several years ago from Illinois.
He worked several year at Andover Industries, and in his leisure time enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his father, of New Castle, Pa.; three children, Thomas and Corrine Doerr of Illinois, and Jeffery Doerr of North Kingsville; a granddaughter, Halley; three brothers, Roland Doerr of Pierpont Township, Jeffery Doerr of Illinois and David Doerr of New Castle, Pa.; and a sister, Celia Pozel of Dundee, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother, Robert Glenn, in infancy.
Graveside services with burial of ashes will be in Illinois at the convenience of the family.
Calling hours are 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Childs and Williams Funeral Home, 96 Route 7, Pierpont Township.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family, and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
