Ernst “Ernie” Gottwig, age 60, of Mentor since 1974 formerly of Lyndhurst. Mr. Gottwig died Saturday January 29, 2005. He was born October 8, 1944 in Cleveland.
Mr. Gottwig was a local insurance agent prior to that he was owner of the former Ernie’s Family Tavern in Painesville and of Ginger Homes in Mentor.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years Theresa “Tweeter”; daughter Cynthia (Bill) Budziak of Concord Twp.; son Brian Volann of Mentor; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; sister Hannelore “Honey” Lynch of Parrish, Fla.; nephew Mike Lynch of Parrish, Fla.; niece Ginger (Joe) Perusek of Parrish, Fla.; cousin Karol (Jim) Frew of Mentor also survived by other loving family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ewald and Hedwig Gottwig; son Greg Volann.
Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Ernst "Ernie" Gottwig in care of the family.

Memorial services for Earla Mae Inks, 78, of Willowick, will be 4 p.m. Friday at the Church of Epiphany, 21000 Lake Shore Blvd., Euclid.
Ms. Inks died Jan. 22, 2005, at her residence. She was born June 16, 1926, in Cleveland, she lived in Willowick since 1955.
She was a member of the Church of Epiphany in Euclid, where she was an Altar Guild and a member of the finance office and the Vestory. She was also a member of the Alco Club for sewing and she loved crafts, gardening, and traveling.
Ms. Inks was a secretary at Huntington Fund for Education in Cleveland, working for the Norweb family.
Survivors are her sons, Earl (Debbie) Inks of Windsor and Matthew (Cindy) Inks of Painesville; and grandchildren, Joshua, Rachel, Ashley, and Christina Inks.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G.; and parents, Carl and Edna Price.
Inurnment will be in the Church of Epiphany.
The family suggests contributions to the Church of Epiphany, 21000 Lake Shore Blvd., Euclid, 44123.

Private family service for Erma E. Byers, age 79, of Mentor on the Lake will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Byers died Friday, January 28, 2005 at Lake West Hospital in Willoughby. She was born August 24, 1925 in Cleveland, she lived in Cleveland before moving to Mentor on the Lake 33 years ago.
Ms. Byers worked as a surveyor for various market research companies. She loved her family and taking care of her grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling and watching sports.
Survivors include her children: Linda (Robert) Radley of Arizona, Gail Byers of Medina, Laurie (Matt) Byers-Bikulic of Mentor and Jeffrey Byers of Mentor; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Her son Terrance Byers and sister Elvera Kolar are deceased.
Interment Mentor Cemetery, Mentor.

Funeral mass for Earl Dietrick, age 77, of Mentor will be held 10 a.m. Friday February 4, 2005 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 8560 Mentor Ave., Mentor.
Mr. Dietrick died Tuesday February 1, 2005 at Lake Hospital System in Painesville. He was born April 5, 1927 in Patton, Pa., he had lived in Euclid before moving to Mentor in 1985.
Mr. Dietrick was machinist for the former Caterpillar, Inc in Mentor for 31 years. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Mentor, a veteran of the U.S. Army he was a lifetime member of VFW post 2926.
Survivors include his daughter Janice (Chuck) Teschner of Mentor on the Lake; Grandchildren Brian and Mark Johnson; beloved companion Gladys Ferrence; nieces and nephews Greg (Lisa) Ferrence, Heidi (Daniel) Lisowski and Russ (Dee) Ferrence; survived by other loving family members.
He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth.
Family will receive friends 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor.
Inurnment All Souls Cemetery, Chardon.

Funeral mass for Alicia Helena Brew, age 5, of Mentor will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday January 25, 2005 at St. Bede the Venerable Catholic Church, 9114 Lakeshore Blvd., Mentor.
Alicia died Friday January 21, 2005 at the family residence. She was born July 19,1999 in Garfield Heights.
Alicia loved art, coloring and was a graduate of Miss Kimberly's day care in Mentor.
Survivors include her mom Valerie Brew of Mentor; papa and nana Thomas and Kimberly Brew Sr. of Mentor; uncle Tom Brew Jr. of Mentor; survived by many great aunts and uncles; dear friend Peter Gill.
Survivors include her father Bryan Porcello of Willowick; grandmother Cindy Porcello of Willowick; aunt Stacy (Paul) Howald of Columbus; survived by many great aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her great grandparents John and Alice Setina and Donald and Helen Brew.
Family will receive friends 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor.
Interment All Souls Cemetery, Chardon.
Contributions may be made to Give Kids the World, 210 South Bass Rd., Kissimmee, Florida 34746 or to Hospice of the Western Reserve, pediatric unit at University Hospital, 10645 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44106.

Memorial mass for Margaret A. “Peg” (Kunesh) Costello, age 75, of Painesville will be held 9:30 am Friday (Meet at church) at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 7575 Bellflower Rd., Mentor.
Ms. Costello died January 17, 2005 at Hospice House in Cleveland. She was born Sept 21, 1929 in Cleveland, Ohio, she had lived in Mentor before moving to Painesville.
Ms. Costello was a realtor in the Lake County Area retiring in 2002. She was also an elementary school teacher. She passed away from complications of pulmonary fibrosis.
Survivors include her former husband Charles Costello, children Susan (Ronald) Ritzert of Worthington, Elizabeth Costello of San Francisco, Kathleen (Mark) Dahler Rocky River, James (Anita) Costello of Westerville, Timothy (Cheri) Costello of Mentor. Grandchildren Neil, Lindsey, Katherine, Rachel, Ryan, Michael, Brent, Jacob. Friend to many especially Claudette Wood and Peggy Kranz.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor.
Private family burial at mentor Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, 300 E. 185th St. Cleveland, Oh. 44119.

Memorial service for J. Ronald Courtney, age 67, of Concord Twp. will be held 11 a.m. Saturday January 22, 2005 at Old South Church, 9802 Chillicothe Rd., Kirtland.
Mr. Courtney died Wednesday January 12, 2005 at Kemper House in Mentor. He was born April 29, 1937 Cleveland, he had lived in Kirtland before moving to Concord Twp. 5 years ago.
He was Co-owner and President of C.W. Courtney Company in Mayfield Village for the 40 years. He also served as city Engineer for the cities of Brecksville & Brooklyn.
Mr. Courtney was a Collinwood High School graduate 1955, Graduate of Case institute of Technology in 1961 with a Civil Engineering Degree, Mayfield Village Racquet Club, Pineridge Country Club, Past President of North-East Ohio Municipal Engineers Society.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years Elaine (White); daughter Wendy (Christopher) Garcia of Kirtland; sons Tim Courtney of Wickliffe, Brian (Lisa) Courtney of Concord; 5 Grandchildren Ethan, Cameron, Peter, Patrick & Emily; brother Lee (Mary Lou) Courtney of Mentor.
He was preceded in death by his parents John & Cordelia Courtney.
