Janet Sheets
DORSET - Janet Sheets, 63, of Dorset, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, at St. Joseph Hospital in Warren.
She was born July 30, 1938, in Painesville, and was retired from Broadfield Manor Nursing Home, where she was a nursing aide.
Survivors include a sister, Linda Shinaberry of Painesville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Sheets.
Service is noon Friday at the Potti Funeral Home, 2726 Hubbard Road, Madison.
Calling hour at the funeral home is 11 a.m. Friday until time of service.

Betty Jane Glaus
MINERVA - Betty Jane Glaus, 79, of Minerva, died of complications following heart surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Saturday, March 24, 2001.
Born Sept. 29, 1921, in Ashtabula, she was the daughter of Robert and Mabel (Bliss) Kochenderfer.
Mrs. Glaus and her husband, Robert, operated Glaus Bros. Clothiers in Minerva for 31 years, retiring in 1984.
Mrs. Glaus enjoyed playing bridge and spending time with her friends. She also enjoyed time with her family, including visits to her son and his family in Arizona, as well as spending time with her great-nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Glaus was a long-time member of Sans Souci and was an active volunteer for the Red Cross. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Minerva.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years; one son, Gregg of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; and one sister, Donna Thompson of Houston, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Norma Thomas.
Service is 2 p.m. Thursday at First Christian Church of Minerva, with Ralph Norman officiating.
Burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Alliance Minerva Chapter of the American Red Cross.

Alice J. Emerson
CINCINNATI - Former Conneaut and Ashtabula resident, Alice J. Emerson, 67, of Cincinnati, died Thursday, March 15, 2001.
Survivors include one son, James E. Emerson of Scotland; four sisters, Elma Huff, Joyce Love and Audrey Blinkhorn, all of Cincinnati, and Carole Russell of Texas; four brothers, Arnold of Pennsylvania, Calvin of Maryland and Leon and John, both of Conneaut.
Funeral services were held March 17 at Hodapp Funeral Home, 6041 Hamilton Ave., Cincinnati.
A local memorial service is being planned and will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Clarence Shinabery
DORSET TOWNSHIP - Clarence Shinabery, 89, of Kyle Road, died Monday, Sept. 25, 2000, at Jefferson Geriatric Center.
Born April 29, 1911, in Lake County, he was the son of Edward and Daisy Shinabery and had lived in the Painesville area most of his life before making his home with a nephew in Dorest.
Mr. Shinabery loved animals.
Survivors include his nephew and niece Thomas and Linda Bates.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Larry and Merill.
Graveside service is 10 a.m. Saturday at Evergreen Cemetery, Geneva, with the Rev. Larry Wade of Park Street Christian Church, Geneva, officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at Kennedy-Billman Funeral Home, 323 S. Broadway, Geneva, which is in charge of the arrangements.

Rowland R. Harley
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. ­ Rowland Royal Harley, 93, of Chapel Hill, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003.
He was born July 18, 1909, in Geneva, the son of George R. and Lula (Hill) Harley. An Ashtabula resident, he earned a degree in business from Ohio Wesleyan University.
"Roy" married the former Marian Lott, of Ashtabula, and they moved to Kenmore, N.Y., where he was auditor at E.I. duPont and Dunlop Tire. He then joined the National Gypsum Co., retiring in 1974.
The Harleys moved to Sanford, N.C., in 1977, and to Carolina Meadows in Chapel Hill, in 1995.
He was active in every community in which he lived. He served in the United Way; the Buffalo, N.Y., YMCA; Buffalo, Sanford and Chapel Hill Rotary clubs; Westminster Presbyterian Church in Buffalo; Triangle Presbyterian Church in Durham, N.C.; and most recently, on the Carolina Meadows Memorial Gift Committee.
Survivors include his two daughters, Lee Hoffman of Naples, Fla., and Judith Martin of Nyack, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, in 1999; and his parents.
A service of celebration is being held at 1:30 p.m. today at Carolina Meadows in Chapel Hill.
Memorial contributions will be accepted by the Memorial Gift Committee of Carolina Meadows, Carolina Meadows Avenue, Chapel Hill, N.C. 27514.
Arrangements are being handled by the Cremation Society of the Carolinas Inc., of Raleigh, N.C., and Fred Byrd, funeral director.

Wilson F. Vanderlip
LYNDHURST ­ Wilson F. Vanderlip, 96, of Lyndhurst, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at his home.
He was born June 14, 1906, in Albany, N.Y., the son of Isaac M. and Grace P. (Davies) Vanderlip.
Prior to retirement, he was an electrician for various companies. A stamp and coin collector, he enjoyed photography and genealogy.
Mr. Vanderlip is survived by a son, Norman Vanderlip of Mayfield Heights; a daughter, Marilyn Richmond of Calabasas, Calif.; four grandchildren, Laurel Kean, Earl Richmond Jr., Dale Vanderlip and Kathryn Fannin; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ona, in 1999; and a sister, Harriet Coffin.
Funeral service is 1 p.m. Monday at the Kennedy-Billman Funeral Home, 323 S. Broadway, Geneva, with the Rev. Larry Wade, of Park Street Christian Church of Geneva, officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Geneva.
Calling hour is noon until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.

Sister Mary Cagnazzo
ROME, Italy - Sister Mary Augustina Cagnazzo, 79, of the Oblate Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003, in Rome.
She was born July 19, 1923, in Foggia, Italy, the daughter of Paolo and Concetta (DelliCari) Cagnazzo.
She entered the Oblate Sisters Oct. 12, 1942, and professed her final vows Jan. 24, 1950. She served more than 60 years in religious life.
Sister Augustina came to the United States in 1949. She taught at Our Lady of Perpetual Help School in McDonald from 1952 to 1954; St. Edward School in Youngstown from 1955 to 1959; St. Anthony School in Youngstown, both as principal and teacher, from 1959 to 1972, St. Frances Cabrini School in Conneaut from 1972 to 1973. She was stationed in Toronto, both as a local superior and administrator of a day-care center, from 1973 to 1975.
In July 1975, Sister Augustina was elected general superior of her order, whose headquarters is in Rome. She was elected for a second term in 1981.
After completing her term, Sister Augustina returned to the Youngstown Diocese, where she was both principal and teacher of St. Frances Cabrini School in Conneaut from 1987 to 1990. She was assigned to Emmaus House, the diocesan priests' retirement home, from 1990 to 1993.
She was superior of Villa Maria Teresa convent in Hubbard from 1993 to 1999, as well as principal of St. Anthony School, Youngstown, a second time, from 1994 to 1996. She returned to Rome in 1999 and served in the hospitality ministry of the congregation.
Survivors include her three brothers, Giuseppe, Luigi and Salvatore; and two sisters, Michelina and Assunta, all of Foggia, Italy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Felicita.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Frances Cabrini Church in Conneaut, with the Rev. Raymond Thomas officiating.
She was buried Jan. 16 in Rome.
Memorial contributions may be made to Priest Retirement Fund of Villa Maria Teresa, 50 Warner Road, Hubbard, 44425.
Envelopes are available at St. Frances Cabrini Church or the Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut.
