Sheffield Lake - FETTER, PAUL I. – 65 of Sheffield Lake, passed away, Monday, March 26, at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center, following a brief Illness. Mr. Fetter was born, March 6, 1936 in Dennison, Oh and came to Sheffield Lake, as a Child. He had work in the construction industry as an Operation Engineer, retiring from Eckenrode Construction in 1999.
He was a member of Knights of St. John International, Lorain, Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Huron Aerie #2875. Knights of Columbus and a Social Member of the VFW. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his dog, Spottie.
His wife Beverly (nee Rickenbach) whom he married August 20, 1966, passed away, August 28, 2000. He is survived by sons, Michael of LaGrange, OH, Thomas of West Palm Beach, FL, James of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl and Tim Harlan of Dafter, MI; daughters Arlene Hardy, of Nantucket Mass. Deborah Fetter of Myrtle Beach, SC, Diann Harlan-Gray of Chardon, OH and Susan Harlan-Schroeder of Wakeman. Other survivors include 6 grandchildren and a brother John W. Fetter, Jr. of Boca Raton, FL. Besides his wife, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis (nee Cifranic) who passed away in 1965, brothers Roland and Kenneth and parents, John W. Jr. and Beulah (nee Adams) Fetter.
Friends may call at the BUSCH-BURMEISTER FAMILY CHAPEL, 163 Avon-Belden Rd. Avon Lake, from 6:00-9:00pm Thursday, March 29. Funeral Services will be at the funeral home Friday, at 11:00am. Pastor Travis Bailey of Lake Breeze Church of the Brethren, Sheffield Village, will officiate. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memory Garden. Memorials may be forwarded to the American Lung Association, 1621 Euclid Ave., Suite 930, Cleveland, OH 44115.

Avon – Leona K. Karas (nee Klingshirn) - 84 a life long resident of Avon, passed away, Wednesday, February 28, at St. John West Shore Hospital, following a short illness. Mrs. Karas was born April 13, 1916 in Avon, graduated from Avon High School in 1933. Mrs. Karas was a homemaker, member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, Avon and enjoyed crocheting, flower gardening, cats and dogs.
Her husband of 44 years, Walter J. passed away in 1982. She is survived by a son Dennis A. (Lee Anne) of Avon Lake, son George J. (Marian) of Wellington, grandchildren, Joshua, Rachel and Alex and great grandchildren Brianna and Jacob. Other survivors include a brother Hearon Klingshirn of Elyria. Besides her husband, Mrs. Karas is preceded by a son Alan W. and parents, Anton and Edith (nee Kriebel) Klingshirn.
Friends may call at the BUSCH-BURMEISTER FAMILY CHAPEL, 32000 Detroit Rd., Avon, from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00pm Thursday, March 1. Prayer Service at the funeral home, Friday, March 2 at 9:15am followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, 2640 Stoney Ridge Rd., Avon at 10:00am. Fr. Thomas Cleaton of the Church will officiate. Interment will follow in the church’s cemetery.

Violet “Bobbie” June Evans (nee Trowbridge)
Avon Lake, OH – Violet “Bobbie” June Evans (nee Trowbridge) - 94 of Sullivan, OH where she made her home with her daughter, formerly of Avon Lake, passed away at home, Thursday, March 15 following complications of coronary artery decease. Mrs. Evans was born November 13, 1906 in Arden West Virginia. She lived for a time in the East Liverpool, OH area before moving to Avon Lake in the mid 1950’s where she had lived for 40 years. She had lived with her Daughter for the past 8 years and had made the move with them from Lorain to Sullivan one year ago.
Mrs. Evans had worked as a Day Care Attendant at the Aqua Marine, Avon Lake, for over 40 years. She walked from her home to work 21/2 miles each way until her retirement at the age of 82. She was a founding member of the Avon Lake Baptist Church, an elder with the church, a member of the women’s group, a Sunday School Teacher, member of the church’s choir and also a member of Women’s Mission Union. In 1997 Mayor Vince Urban, presented Mrs. Evans with a proclamation, naming December 6, as Bobbie Evans Day in Avon Lake. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching and dearly loved children.
Her late husband George, passed away in 1985. She is survived by daughters, Marlaine K. Cawley of Sullivan, OH, Carol Gencur of Vermilion, Nila Savors of East Liverpool, Betty Knotts of Avon Lake, and a son Robert Mangan of Hot Springs Arkansas. Other survivors include 21 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild. Besides her husband, she is preceded in death by a daughter Sherry L. Wedell a grandson David Knotts, parents, Joseph H. and Lillie L. (nee Loar) Trowbridge, two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at the BUSCH-BURMEISTER FAMILY CHAPEL, 163 Avon-Belden Rd., Avon Lake, from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm Sunday, March 18. Funeral Services, Monday at the Avon Lake Baptist Church, 321 Lear Rd., Avon Lake at 11:30am. Rev. John McCourt of the Trinity Baptist Church, Ashland, OH will officiate. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memory Garden, Avon. AVON LAKE, OH-Irene Mary Sebastian- 83 of Avon Lake, formerly of Cleveland, passed away Sunday February 18, 2001 at Lakewood Hospital, Lakewood following a short illness. Mrs. Sebastian was born December 8, 1917, in Cleveland, and has lived in Avon Lake for the past 21/2 years.
Mrs. Sebastian was a homemaker, a member of Holy Spirit Church and a member of the St. Emerich’s Lady’s Guild. She enjoyed being a mother, grandmother a cook and baking. She also enjoyed bowling.
Mrs. Sebastian is survived by a son, John (Sandy) Sebastian of Avon Lake and grandchildren, Joe and Michael Sebastian and Lisa Meiners. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, John, sons, Leonard and Joseph, parents, John and Ethel (nee Kovacs) Sebastian, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
