Stephen Michael Maxwell
(September 12, 1955 - July 8, 2013)

Stephen Michael Maxwell, age 57 of Georgetown, Ohio died Monday, July 8, 2013 at the Southwest Regional Medical Center in Georgetown, Ohio. He was a welder. Mr. Maxwell was born September 12, 1955 in Maysville, Kentucky the son of the late Ralph Kennedy and Lora Ellen (Fitch) Maxwell. He was also preceded in death by one brother – Larry Maxwell.

Stephen is survived by his wife of thirty-three years – Jackie (Cahall) Maxwell, five children – Stephanie Maxwell of West Chester, Ohio, Belinda Allen of Milford, Ohio, Jason Maxwell of Phenix City, Alabama, Eric Cahall of Eastgate, Ohio and Lori Fithen of Ripley, Ohio, thirteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three brothers – Kevin and Jerry Maxwell both of Ripley, Ohio, and Jeff Maxwell of Aberdeen, Ohio, four sisters – Barbara Kitchen of Tipp City, Ohio, Belinda Borisch of Aberdeen, Ohio, Terri Marshall of Ripley, Ohio and Jan Payne of Higginsport, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio followed by cremation. There will be a private interment at a later date at the convenience of the family. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Stephen Maxwell Memorial Fund, 5867 Camp Run Road, Georgetown, Ohio 45121.

Herbert Smith
(December 7, 1935 - July 10, 2013)

U.S. Veteran

Herbert Edward Smith, age 77 of Sardinia, Ohio died Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at the Hospice of Cincinnati East in Anderson Township. He was retired from the Ford Motor Company. Mr. Smith was born December 7, 1935 in Fayetteville, Ohio the son of the late Carey and Lois (Jones) Smith. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers – Clarence and Harold Smith and two sisters – Marian and Martha Barber.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife – Rita (Hanes) Smith; one daughter - Deborah Greynolds and husband David of Fayetteville, Ohio; one son – Wayne Smith of Dayton, Ohio; one granddaughter – Jessica Spears of Dayton, Ohio; one great-grandson – Brayden; two brothers-in-law – Louis Hanes of Tennessee and Paul Barber of Mt. Orab, Ohio and many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the Graceland Memorial Garden in Milford, Ohio. Dan Lamb will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Friday, July 12, 2013 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Mt. Orab, Ohio. Interment will be in the Graceland Memorial Garden in Milford, Ohio.

Jesse Lytle
(October 4, 1988 - July 10, 2013)

Jesse Wiseman Lytle, age 24 of Bethel, Ohio died Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. He worked for PJ Trailers. Jesse was born October 4, 1988 in Georgetown, Ohio the son of David H. Lytle and wife Melody Kirby of Mt. Orab, Ohio and Brenda S. (Back) Butts and husband Willie of Bethel, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents - John and Eloise Lytle and maternal grandfather – Joe Back.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Lytle is survived by his fiancé – Lauren Bennett of Mt. Orab, Ohio; three brothers – Donald Lytle of Mt. Orab, Ohio and J.W. and Brandon Butts both of Goshen, Ohio; one sister – Stephanie Sutton and husband Jody of Mt. Orab, Ohio; maternal grandmother – Lucille Saylor of Williamsburg, Ohio; maternal great-grandmother – Florence Fields of Halie, Kentucky and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Mt. Orab, Ohio. Jim Fields, Bill Halcomb and Curl Dixson will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Mt. Orab Cemetery in Mt. Orab, Ohio.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Jesse W. Lytle Memorial Fund c/o National Bank and Trust.

Rita Veronica Porter
(August 18, 1920 - July 13, 2013)

Rita V. Porter, age 92 of Ripley, Ohio, died Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the Villa Georgetown Nursing Home in Georgetown, Ohio. She had worked as a clerk for Carr’s Five and Dime in Ripley and the Bristow Drug Company in Ripley. She was also a member of St. Michael Church in Ripley and was a 1936 graduate of St. Michael High School. Mrs. Porter was born August 18, 1920 in Ripley, Ohio the daughter of the late Katherine Schumann McClelland. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Porter and one sister, Mary Joan McClelland.

Mrs. Porter is survived by her son, Stephen P. Porter of Ripley, Ohio.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at St. Michael Church in Ripley. Rev. Ted Kosse will be the Celebrant. There will be no visitation. Interment will follow the funeral mass in Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley.

Noah J. Carrington
(June 28, 2007 - July 13, 2013)

Noah Jackson Carrington, age 6 of Georgetown, Ohio was granted his angel wings in the arms of his mother July 13, 2013 at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio due to several medical conditions as well as Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS). Noah was born June 28, 2007 in Anderson Township, Ohio the son of Steve Carrington and Kendra (Bowling) Carrington both of Georgetown, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents – Hazel and Jack Carrington.

In addition to his parents, Noah is survived by three brothers – Austin Armacost, Steven Carrington and Eli Neff; one sister – Calysta Crawford; maternal grandparents – Kenon and Sandra (Garrison) Bowling of Georgetown, Ohio and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be deeply missed by his nurses who attributed to his daily care as well as the PWS community.

An anatomical gift was made to the Life Center at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center to help other children. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Saturday, July 20, 2013 at the Georgetown Church of Christ in Georgetown, Ohio with a balloon launch following services. Scott Hennig will officiate. There will be no visitation. The Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio is serving the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Special Needs Clinic c/o Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, 3333 Burnet Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio 45219 or to the Prader-Willie Syndrome Association at www.PWSAUSA.org .

Steven Warner Bennett
(June 18, 1962 - July 17, 2013)

Steven Warner Bennett, age 51 of Ripley, Ohio, died Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at his residence. He was a United States Army Veteran. Mr. Bennett was born June 18, 1962 in Cincinnati, Ohio the son of the late William Henry Fields and Alice Elizabeth Bennett. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Mark Bennett and one granddaughter, Audrice Trysta Rhodes.

Mr. Bennett is survived by five daughters – Tameka Latasha Mason of Savannah, Georgia, Alicia Dawn Bealer of Aberdeen, Ohio, Aaliyah Janine Bealer of Aberdeen, Angelina Maxine Jefferson of Ripley, Ohio and Selena Elizabeth Bennett of Ripley; one grandson – Stevahn Devon Rhodes; one granddaughter – Melody Yvonne Bealer; his fiancée Darlene Nipper of Ripley and one sister Pamela Bennett of Georgetown, Ohio.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home

Thomas W. Mason
(December 30, 1951 - July 4, 2013)

U.S. Veteran

Thomas W. Mason, age 61 of Georgetown, Ohio died Thursday, July 4, 2013 at his residence. He was a welder at Ortner for twenty-three years, a paratrooper in the United States Army 82nd Airborne Division and a long time member of the F.O.E. #2293 in Georgetown, Ohio. Tom enjoyed camping with his family and friends and he took pride in his farm and mainly his Big Blue Tractor. By nature he was a very funny, loving and caring person. He was born December 30, 1951 in Feesburg, Ohio the third son of the late Rex Lewis and Mary Ann (Black) Mason Sr..

Tom is survived by his loving wife and best friend of forty-one years – Kristie (Griffith) Mason whom he married June 10, 1972. One son – Thomas W. Mason, Jr. and wife Heather of Russellville, Ohio, one daughter – Krystal Lynn Phillips and husband Jake of Georgetown, Ohio, three grandchildren – Pvt. Heather Mason, Brooklynn Partin and Thomas W. Mason III (Liam), one step granddaughter – Kaylee Lucas, two brothers – Fred Mason of Batavia, Ohio and Rex Mason, Jr. of Georgetown, Ohio, one sister – Clair Ernst and husband Russell of Hamersville, Ohio and many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services and Fraternal Order of Eagles services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 7, 2013 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Scott Hennig will officiate. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Confidence Cemetery with Veterans services by the Carey Bavis American Legion Post #180.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Hope or to the American Cancer Society.

William Ludlow Taft
(June 20, 1947 - June 30, 2013)

William L. Taft, age 66 of Georgetown, Ohio died Sunday, June 30, 2013 at the Southwest Regional Medical Center in Georgetown, Ohio. He was a retired security guard. Mr. Taft was born June 20, 1947 in Cincinnati, Ohio the son of the late Robert Forbes and Margaret Mary (McCready) Taft.

Mr. Taft is survived by two sisters – Trish Stewart of Georgetown, Ohio and Angela Carter of Cincinnati, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no services. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the William L. Taft memorial fund, c/o 5/3 Bank, 4899 State Route 125, Georgetown, Ohio 45121. The Cahall Funeral Home of Georgetown, Ohio is serving the family.
