Viola Taylor

Viola "Kathleen" (Conder) Taylor, 70, longtime Seminole resident died April 2, 2013 at Midwest City Regional Hospital in Midwest City, Okla.

She was born May 13, 1942 in Vertrees, Ky. to Walter Conder and Hazel (Stark) Conder.

On Aug. 9, 1972 Kathleen married Charley L. Taylor in Louisville, Ky.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Charley Taylor of the home; one son, Jason Taylor of Enid, Okla.; two daughters, Joyce Taylor of the home, Jeanie True of Goose Creek, S.C.; one brother, Alan Conder of Elizabethtown, Ky.; three sisters, Ida Eleanor Kyle of Hodgenville, Ky., Barbara Lucas of Cecilia, Ky., Fern Mattingly of Clarksville, Ind.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Hazel Conder; her first husband, Strauda William Clark; and one daughter, Janet Taylor.

The family requests that donations be made to the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Seminole, Okla. or to the charity of your choice in memory of Kathleen Taylor.

Cremation services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Okla. Private family services are scheduled for a later date.

Clyde ‘Papa’ Thomas

"I have fought a good fight
I’ve finished the course.
I have kept the Faith.
Now I’m ready to be offered up"

Clyde was born April 11, 1952 to Odessa (Thomas) Brown and Wesly Brown, the youngest of nine children.

His earliest childhood was spent in the Hughes and Okfuskee County area.

His mother, father and three brothers preceded him in death.

Being a loving and special child, his mother, brother and sisters taught him at home.

Being a special child, God dealt with him in his own way.

He mother took him to church often and at an early age he was baptized.

His nickname was ‘Papa.’

Clyde’s life was full of love.

Later his mother moved the family to the Wewoka area where they lived for many years.

When mother was called home, his sister pastor Odell Hardeman and Lawrence Hardeman took him as one of their members of the family.

Clyde loved to go to church and was a member of Emmanuel Temple of Praise and Deliverance Church, where he would stand up and praise and thank God.

The church showed their love to him in many ways and was always ready to help him.

Everyone that came around him could feel the love and not only will ‘Papa’ be missed by his family, but a number of people who knew him.

Clyde departed this life Friday, Nov. 8, 2013 at home.

He leaves to cherish his memories, two brothers, Pastor Edwin Thomas of Fort Scott, Kans., Pastor Buster Thomas of Tecumseh; three sisters, Pastor Odell Hardeman of Shawnee, Missionary evangelist Adella Crochet of Wewoka, evangelist Betty Armstead of Oklahoma City; three brothers in law, Lawrence Hardeman of Shawnee, Deacon Bud Crockett of Wewoka, Bishop T.G. Kirk Fitzgerald of Oklahoma City; two foster sisters, Marquette Coslly, Harris Fox of Wewoka; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and many friends.

Clyde though you are gone from us, we believe you are in the arms of Jesus.

If you could speak to us, you would say, "read poem."

We loved you Clyde but God loved you more.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013 at Emmanuel Temple of Praise and Deliverance in Shawnee, located at 37406 Westech Road.

Interment will follow at Westwood Cemetery in Wewoka.

Rolfe Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements.

Clydene Thomas

Clydene Burnett Thomas, age 90 passed away Monday, Sept. 9th, 2013 in Albuquerque, N.M.

She was born in Konawa, Okla. on Dec. 14, 1922 to Clyde and Velma Burnett.

Preceding Clydene in death was her husband, Seth Thomas; grandson, David Wayne Thomas; and brother, Mack Wendel Burnett.

Survivors include her children, Seth Tommy Thomas and wife, Pandi, and John Michael Thomas and wife, Dee; grandchildren, Steve Thomas and wife, Katie, Mike Thomas and wife, Rebecca, and Kristen Deibel and her husband, Dan; great-grandchildren, Austin, Zack, Josh, Jessi, Chase, and David Lynn; brother, Douglas Ray Burnett and wife, Denny; sister, Peggy Gault and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

A visitation will be held in the Daniels Family Funeral Services, Strong-Thorne Chapel Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013 at Oakwood Cemetery with Aaron Albrook officiating.

Visitation at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home will be Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.

Jack Thomas

Memorial services for Jack Denver Thomas of El Reno will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Wewoka First United Methodist Church. Pastor Susan Rice will officiate.

Jack, Mollie and Mark will be laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery by their family.

Mr. Thomas passed away at his home on Thursday, June 20, 2013.

He was born Nov. 29, 1933 in Wewoka, Okla. to his parents Denver and Lottie (Helm) Thomas.

Jack grew up in Wewoka and married his high school sweetheart Mollie Chaney.

After high school graduation he opened his owned electrical business.

In 1989 Jack and Mollie moved to Nevada.

After the death of Mollie and their son Mark he moved to El Reno in 2009.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mollie (Chaney) Thomas; parents, Denver and Lottie (Helm) Thomas; son, Mark Thomas; brothers, Russell Thomas and L.D. Thomas.

He is survived by his son, Jay Thomas and wife, Mary of El Reno, Okla. and daughter, Kaye Knight of Spokane, WA. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family has suggested memorials be made to Russell-Murray Hospice.

Jack Thomas

Memorial services for Jack Denver Thomas of El Reno will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 28, 2013 at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Leon Seaton, Chaplain with Russell-Murray Hospice will officiate.

Services are under direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

Another memorial service will also be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Wewoka First United Methodist Church in Wewoka, Okla.

Following the memorial service in Wewoka, Jack, Mollie and Mark will be laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery.

Juanita Thomas

Juanita (Sexton) Thomas, 91, a resident of Konawa, Okla. died at her home Saturday, July 13, 2013.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 17th at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa. Richard Winters will officiate.

Pallbearers are nephews, J.D. Branscum, Jason Sexton, Mike Akerman, Tommy Sexton, Jon Campbell, and Brent Sanders.

Honorary Pallbearers are grandsons, Taw Thomas, Ross Crowl, K.C. Prewitt, Bryan Thomas, Trevor Thomas, and Todd Thomas.

She was born Oct. 18, 1921 in Konawa to Tom Sexton and Maud (Barnett) Sexton.

She married Jack Thomas on Feb. 7, 1942 in Konawa.

She is survived by two sons, Bob Thomas of Konawa and Randy Thomas of Darby, Mont.; two daughters, Connie Prewitt of Konawa and Tinya Thomas of Konawa; three brothers, Frank Sexton of Oklahoma City, J.T. Sexton of Konawa, and Doyle Sexton of Konawa; two sisters, Jean Akerman of Konawa and Amelene Sanders of Moore, Okla.; 20 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 22 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Maud Sexton; her husband, Jack Thomas; one son, Dennis Thomas; one daughter, Tommie Hord; two granddaughters, Raylena Anderson and Stacie Prewitt; two great grandsons; one brother, Howard Sexton; and five sisters, LaVonna Sexton, Lorene Sexton, Jewell Campbell, Pearl Campbell, and Iva Branscum.

Mae Thompson

Mae Evelyn Thompson, 70, of Wanette, Okla. died Sunday, March 10, 2013 in Oklahoma City.

She was born March 4, 1943 to Edwin Dean and Vera Olean (Middleton) Howell in Hamilton, Tex.

She graduated from Gustine Schools in Energy, Tex.

She married Jerry Thompson on April 16, 1960 in Dublin, Tex.

She owned and operated Pop-A-Cork in Konawa from 1995 to 2005 after being a home maker since 1966.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; infant sister, Juanell Howell and sister, Joyce Clawson.

She is survived by three children, son, Chris Thompson of Wanette; daughter, Leesa Garrod of Oklahoma City and son, Jerry Thompson of Norman; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and one great-grandson; two brothers, Pete Howell and Dean Howell of Texas.

A private graveside service was held at the Thompson Family Acreage in Wanette with Reverend Jimmy Adams officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
